Rumoured that Andrew McCleod is playing 6 games for Goolwa
Is very very close to happening
The money they are paying, they will get back through gate, and over the bar
But for a club like Goolwa, is this what they really need, or just maybe their Recruiting Department again making mistakes on recruiting ?????

Huge mistake. I mean who even knows if this guy can perform on the big stage? Has he got credentials? But this is being blown out of proportion. A general chat with a work colleague has turned in to him playing 6 games. He hasnt even met or spoken to our president or any coaching staff.

The key is, this has not and wont take away from what we are doing with new recruits and the current squad set up. The money he will be getting paid would be backed privately and wont eat in to our specified budget. If we can do it and it does happen, I cant see too many negatives and not only will we benefit, so to will the GSFL. If he is positive about the league it will give us positive exposure. He's possibly bigger than Modra? And we all know how good it was having him play down here

Hey LF.. Have a read of what you have said and how from the two small paragraphs you have contradicted yourself more than twice... So has the Club spoken to him or not I am so confused.. and how are you gonna fit him into your points... Good luck with that...

Ignore the first part, that's what is known as sarcasm. Aside from that point out the contradiction and I'll address it

Don't think it will happen, but I don't think he will be at Yank next season. Plenty of money being thrown at him!

The key is, this has not and wont take away from what we are doing with new recruits and the current squad set up. (What won’t???? If they haven’t spoken to him yet, what is gonna take away from what they are doing with new recruits etc, etc???? If he (McLeod) hasn’t been spoken to there is nothing to take anything away from what you are doing!! What has been blown out of proportion??)

The money he will be getting paid would be backed privately and wont eat in to our specified budget.
(The key words here are “ The money HE WILL be getting paid……… So someone has spoken to McLeod and offered him private money??? And their president or coaching staff have not spoken to him yet????? How come HE WILL be getting paid????) maybe it should be “the money he MAY, or MIGHT get paid, that is, or are we blowing things out or proportion. That is unless anonymous benefactors get to sign up players without the Coaching Staff or Presidents knowledge?? Someone might be telling Porky Pies (or should that be Bungy Pies ha, ha!!!)

If we can do it and it does happen, I cant see too many negatives and not only will we benefit, so to will the GSFL. If he is positive about the league it will give us positive exposure. He's possibly bigger than Modra? Modra is a good all round nice guy ans was and still is good for Ebay helping out when he can and his business permits.. He LIVES in ther area and is a BAYS man thru and thru - NO comparison for someone who is going to play 6 games for the $$And we all know how good it was having him play down here
He was and as I said still is good for us

If you do sign him, good on ya – but yeah, have fun with 2 less points than last year, plus a big three for the “your super CTR Half FWD...”!!!!

That would have taken a while to compile. You seem very interested in our club. Although all of out positions are filled we could do with a BBQ cook in the mornings. Come accross then you'd know everything first hand.

He spoke to one of his work colleagues about the options so in the meantime we did a bit of ground work to get organized if it gets closer to actually happening. We did this so if the necessary people meet him we know what we can and can't do re money and points. We won't be taking anything away from the current squad by signing him in lieu of others or putting all of our time and resources towards securing him. Points are always tricky but there are always options. We have a good group of colts next year who could act as -1 options.

Lf knowing who you are i reckon your talking shite because i have heard you had dinner with mcleod in adelaide with zac but really who gives a stuff what goolwa does they wont be a threat

baysule you are starting to sound like a winging bitch. just because you lost harvey you want to try and start fights with goolwa. your club payed mcgregor silly money so mcleod would be a great option. look in your own yard for a change and i tell you its pretty rooted. see if your colts can win a game next year. or are you just worried about hosting afl games. has jyrah miller started pre season yet.

Woohoo. mate.. calm down.. what side of the bed did you get out today.. mmm winging bitch thats a bit unfair and I take offence to this. It is an OPEN forum and I was simply answering LF s question as to why I thought he contradicted himself.. which if you look he has asked me to.. Funny enough McGregor wasnt getting much from what I know he just wanted to play football and he is a nice bloke.. Im not overly fussed with Harves now.. and as you see I wasnt talking about that I was simply pointing out the points that he takes with them to Goolwa... I just didnt like how it came about that is all.

MM I think we are looking very promising this year with a great new playing coach and a prety handy player at that.. ANd as a matter of interest our Pre Season starts tonight.

Dont worry about our Colts they are in a rebuilding phrase that all clubs go thru from time to time. OUr Junior Colts will look OK this year I reccon, AND really you need to keep up on the news if you want to throw shit at me.. JYRAH MILLER ISNT ALLOWED TO PLAY FOOTBALL FOR 5 YEARS... and I doubt that with the committee we have if they are still there when he returns he will return to the Bay.. But what do I know..

My suggestion Little One is to go back to bed and get out of bed the other side and see if you feel a little better.. OR PERHAPS YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO BATTING NO 3 FOR INDIA..

I actually don't think you are as informed as you think you are Baysrule. I have it on very good authority (I'd almost say fact) that McGregor was $800 a game this year. I know this because Henley tried to get him to stay out there and he told them if they could match what EB were offering him he would stay. He told them what it was ($800) and they said no.

BJ, my mail is Luke Ellis is staying at Torrens Valley, it was put to him but he decided to stay put. Can't confirm though.

Im not involved in your league at all but where you say it won't take anything away from your club, try telling that to the young lads that are at training every night of the week and bust their guts to get into the A Grade when then get told sorry mate, you didn't make the team because we have got a big name player coming to fill in for the week. Usually it is the young lad who has played all his juniors at the club, mum runs the canteen for 10 years and dad does all the crap jobs around the club. I have seen it all to often with these ex retired big names, coming in for cameo appearances, demanding a heap of cash and hoping the crowd will come to watch them. I'd just be very careful when going down that path.

Had a 2 yr deal I believe. Bays would have to pay a pretty penny to get him to move I would think.
