Well BB... Surely the result last Saturday would have been much different if these players weren't rested or are you actually carrying some significant injuries? How's big Lucas Herbert going on his return to A grade footy? Will those knees hold the big man up until finals?
With the score being so close, you can just blame it on players out (as every weak club does!!!) and although it does help having a full-strength team playing but in the end of the day, you put faith in the side that you out on the park to get the job done (and we had a very talented side playing) and if you don’t win by as much as expected or you lose, you don’t say that you have players out. Bridgewater played very well for most of the game, and I can see them winning a game this season if other teams take them lightly.

In regards to the players listed above: Cobb and McCormick were rested, Sidebottom was out with ribs and Pope was out with a hand injury. All of those players will be back for the Ironbank game plus about 15 others players (A, B and C Grade) will be available for selection. Lucas Herbert's knees are holding up at the moment (fingers and toes crossed) he is just enjoying being able to play football again and is a very good asset for the A-Grade side.

We’re happy to be 6-3 after round 1 and we still feel that we have plenty of room for improvement and are looking forward to the second half of the season and giving the competition a crack.
What about Roche BB, he hasn't played for a month?
hes been injured and is one of the 15 others players that will be available for selection for the Ironbank game
Are Blackwood not going to be too top heavy when Roach comes back? Forward line would consist of Gigney, Dundovic, Roach, Hopton plays up there, mccormic rotates through there. Then big Herbert and Pdroth in the ruck, Matt Thomas and Cobb down back. Seems like too many talls from one team, and i dont even know the others, might be vulnerable when it comes in wet this winter, but on a dry day that forwdline could do some damage.

Not to mention 'slow' as well cricketlad. Some clubs will be hoping they do actually line up like that I'd suggest. Surely there has to be some sort of balance there BB!

Righto, we've had a rest. Who's going to win this week?
Looking forward to two very good games of footy this week vs Ironbank. They're always hard to beat on that excuse for a 'football ground'.

Another bitch complaining about the size of Ironbank Oval. You must be looking forward to moving to the Southern Football League soon. You can be the first club to openly whinge about the size of Morphett Vales oval as no-one else does. And yes, Blackwood are in talks with the SFL and maybe moving to that league as soon as 2012. It will then return to a two div comp. Have fun, see ya later.

If that was the case it would be great as the Blackwood footy club would definately fit right in to the standard of the SFL and to also have 2 divisions will make the SFL competition alot better for the struggling clubs!!

Why would Blackwood want to play in SFL? I mean why would anyone want to play there? My information is they are happy playing in the Hills as it is more player friendly, despite losing nearly every final they play in!

I don't believe those words you used were fact but I'm probably speaking to a child so I'll let it slide. Unless your on the committee at Blackwood which I doubt, you have no idea about the possibility of going to the SFL. I am very good friends with an SFL official and I've seen drawn up plans of a two div comp which includes Blackwood in Div 1. Your club will deny it for obvious reasons but it is very much in the pipeline.

In fairness to The Moose, this rumour comes up every year and never eventuates. Being from the SFL and looking from a far, Blackwood seem to be quite successful in the Hills, so why would they want to move? The Hills is a much tighter competition without the likes of the Hackhams, Aldingas and Marions, so a move down the hill would be a silly decision in my opinion.

Two divisions SM, and I'm just stating what I've seen. There's a few more clubs from other leagues included as well. You'll probably be surprised who these clubs are but it all makes sense re: location and travel time within the league.

Yes these rumours do come up every year that's why I dont believe it will happen. I personally enjoy being part of HFL footy as its a good tight competition played at a high standard. Besides, who is everyone going to pick on if Blackwood do move to SFL ;)

Any word on results so far today?

IB d. Blackwood by 9 points.
Lofty d. Bridgey by 10 goals. Bridgey were still in it at 3/4 time apparently.

Sorry BB, Blackwood too OLD and too SLOW today. Well done to the young Ironbank side. Salievic will have to make the hard call soon and drop some of his OLD mates if he wants to go anywhere in finals.

Well first off, Umpire Mark herrmann paid a very simple holding the ball. Next the player stands up and drops the ball on the ground and of course as standard the 50 was paid. Then allegedly <players named removed>l from Hahndorf ran up the umpire and starts abusing him using extremely threatening language. For this a yellow card was giving. At this point allegedly the offending player punched the umpire with great force straight to the head and knocked him out.
Then after trying to fight the whole Onkas team, the kid then jumped the fence and allegedly attemted to bash a lady (maybe 40yrs old) in the crowd.
This was the craziest thing ive even seen in football. What i didnt see but was told later, apparently the kid jumped out of a moving car and tried to fight more spectators on the way out. I was also informed the Hahndorf FC was very embarresed and did apologise to the OVFC.
If the player gets anything short of a LIFE BAN it will be a joke.
