I wondered if that was the case, but was seeking confirmation.

I can confirm that Steve Hill has been appointed coach of Victor for 2012. We are very happy to have him on board and with the squad that's getting put together look forward to a successful year.

I dont know him from a bar of soap, but from what I've read on hear he seems to be a bit of a disciplinarian, club coach - works hard in junior development, was seen as a great coach and a good bloke by posters from Morphett Vale where he coached successfully then left on his own terms.

From the SFL forum:
In 2001 Steve Hill came to the club along with Trevor Potts, the club hadn't been involved in senior finals since 1997, in 2002 both grades made the finals, 2003 coached the B grade to an undefeated flag, repeated this in 2004 (history making), 2005 B grade premiers, 2006 A grade premiership coach, 2007 "Undefeated" A grade premiership (history making)

:-? Perhaps what the McLaren boys told you says more about them than it does about the coach??! Time will tell of course.

More than likely says more about the playing group more than anything, a coach can only do so much, if the players had've played to Hilly's instruction i am sure they would've performed a lot better than they did, his record is very good and with a better list, successful juniors and hopefully a playing group with the right attitude i would expect Victor to seriously challenge next season.

Steve hill is a very good coach especially with kids coming thru the ranks. From my experience he will do what I believe every "a grade" coach should do which is make sure from u13s to seniors that EVERY coach is on the same wave length with development requirements for players. Also he will not be intimidated by the big egos and will do it his way as he should.
For mine very good choice for vhfc, and a big good luck to Steve.

Well done to Steve Hill on his appointment as the A Grade coach, I believe that he will do a great job and the boys better get ready to do the hard yards.

With the right use of there points, not gonna argue but it's a big call. Is Davis-Neale heading back to South?

Big call at his early stage Johny but Yank showed it can be done - bottom in 2009 to 3rd in 2010 (but lost both finals). Big ask with 15 points available as I would imagine the other clubs arent going to be sitting on their hands.

Your confidence implies you know something about the new coach?????
