Doubt Mclaren can even get close to the amount Kaniva are offering $-) . Should definitley stick it out in the SANFL though even if it does mean a change of scenery.

I agree,Tarek should stay at the Panthers.Players should always strive to play the highest level they can,if he decides not to then Mclaren will do what it takes to keep him at our club.
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

Interesting reading the papers this week quoting creek will be having trouble with there points allocation for the gf. They will all fit in as long as they play 2 senior colts(-2pts) to bring them back to 15pts as norman and hill are both ins this week? and are worth zero points. Two lucky senior colts could be apart of a premiership win spending minimal time if any at all on the ground. Fantastic experience for two young lads. Creek should get up if the rain stays away should have too much marking power for willunga with hately and feast the difference last week v strath in the air. But we have all said this before (07), never under estimate the demons on the big day. The last two gf's have been decided by a kick lets hope this year is close as well.

On a sad note straths premiership captain and mail medalist nathan duffields mother rhonda duffield passed away early this morning. Rhonda was one of the hardest working volunteers in the league it wasn't until this year not having her around you realise what she did around the club. Was a very vocal and passionate club life member, who at times got under oppositions clubs skins. She will be sadly missed by all.

Tip of the day if you are at encounter bay oval. Pack the car up, get to hahndorf and watch the hfl gf. 10,000 people quality football. Unbelievable stuff. Really puts or gf's to shame

In What way does it put ours to shame?
Crowd wise?
Quality wise?
Venue wise?
Wheres the 10,000 figure come from?

Myponga won the 'B' grade.

'A' grade 1/4 time
Strath 4 - 4 (Kicked with a strong wind)
L.Ck 2 - 4

I ask the same question what the hell was wrong at the Bay today.. how can you fault the Venue.. Bay oval looks great however with a few sandy spots.. Catering spot on.. Second Booze bar on the hill.. Exceptional changerooms.. best inthe League... How can you even think of faulting the Venue... Main problem today was the shocking wind.. but would have been just as bad at victor or even Goolwa..
GSFL were pleased with the crowd... Kids on the gate selling the budgets sold out.. so I ask why you question the venue..

Grand Finals

Junior Colts – Victor vs Strath

After only dropping 1 game and winning the flag in 2010, Victor have not been defeated in 2011. Strath finished the minor round clearly 2nd with only 2 losses (to Victor by 38pts in round 1 and 28pts in round 10). They dropped the qualifying final to Willunga by 4 pts, before bouncing back to win the semi then defeated Willunga last week by 7pts.

Should be tight but Victor should win.

Senior Colts – Victor vs Willunga

After finishing 3rd at the end of the minor round in 2010 then losing the qualifying final, Victor’s flag in 2010 was somewhat of a surprise. With a large contingent moving up into senior footy Victor’s numbers have been tested at times in 2011 and just managed to grab 4th spot at the end of the minor round with 4th, 5th and 6th all on 11 wins.

Goolwa were seemingly the side to beat this year, leading the table all year, before losing to Mt Compass in round 18 and with it top spot to Willunga on percentage. Willunga have beaten Victor both time in the minor round, by 42pts in round 9 and 51pts in round 18.
Victor’s finals form has been good, beating Strath by 56pts in the elimination, Compass by 32pts in the 1st Semi and then Goolwa by 15pts last week. However, Willunga’s form in the 2nd semi – destroying Goolwa by 88pts makes it hard to tip against them tomorrow.

Reserves - Willunga vs Myponga

After dominating last year’s finals series, Willunga have again been the side to beat this year, but no-one has managed to do that to date. Myponga finished 9th in 2010 but with the A Grade on the improve the Reserves have also benefited, finishing the minor round in 3rd position with 11 wins, 6 losses and a draw in round 18 against 7th placed Strath. Willunga have won all 3 clashes between the 2 this year by 62pts in round 8, 41pts in round 17 and 8pts in the 2nd Semi. Myponga’s 2 other finals games saw them beat McLaren by 21 in the Qualifying and 11 in the Prelim.

As is often the way in Reserves footy, the teams both sides have fielded in the finals are quite different to those through the year, making it hard to pick a winner esp with the close semi. A Grader Guitink played and kicked 3 in the semi after a layoff and Myponga’s main goal kicker Sterzl missed that day too.

Willunga have the finals experience but this could be the day’s upset.

A Grade – Willunga vs Langhorne Creek

Willunga pipped Creek for top spot by percentage at the end of the minor round, both with 3 losses:
Round 2: Creek 139 d Will 69. Round 11: Creek 50 d Will 49. Round 14: Bays 74 d Will 70
Round 3: Strath 121 d Creek 77. Round 7 VH 109 d Creek 73. Round 9: Yank 120 d Creek 97.

Finals have seen Creek 72 b Strath 55, Will 62 d Creek 50 and Creek 100 d Strath 71.

So Creek had Willunga’s measure in the minor round (only by 1pt in the second game) but Willunga battled better in the tough conditions in the semi. The Creek home ground advantage shouldn’t have an effect really but knowing Willunga haven’t won there for years will have give the Creeks a psychological edge. Then Willunga go in with the history showing they have had the wood over Creeks come finals time.

The points issue is an interesting one for Creeks – even more so if Hill and Norman come in. Means leaving 2 others out and keeping the colts in – does that give the best outcome….or leave a points player out and drop the colts??? No such worries for Willunga who only played 9 points in the Semi and have the luxury of being able to do whatever they want with the B’s playing also – Guitink in perhaps their only change?

Should be a cracker of a game, both sides with talent all over the ground – Creeks by a whisker.

Great Report FOD, you know your stuff, my tips - as much as im gonna hate saying this i think creeks will get up in a tight one.... reminds me of the young hawks side who beat the finals experienced geelong in the GF a few years back but i really hope the dees get up! hate LHC. creek by 3 points.

Hard to tip against willunga in the B grade - Strath fielded one of the best reserves side ive ever seen last year and willunga demolished them! but myponga have certainly earnt the right to be in contention. willunga by 29 points

Senior colts - the 2 best sides will play off. WIllunga should get up if they can hold the roos in the first term who have been able to get the jump on sides this finals series..... 7 goal first term vs strath and 5 goals vs compass and 3 goals into the breeze vs goolwa. WIllunga by 23 points.

Junior colts will be interesting - strath havent fielded its strongest side vs the roos yet - i think if strath can put them under constant pressure they will win the game - strath in a close one.

Top right up fod. Can't comment on your colts report i haven't seen enough to tip the winners. Hopefully strath get up in the junior colts but. I doubt there being an upset in the twos as you mentioned ressies teams are a little bit different in finals(last year woolford and guitnick played there only reserves games for the year in the gf), but i think willunga should win comfortably. Myponga have had a brilliant finals series beating mclaren twice and leading willunga for 3 and a bit qtrs, but there team won't get any stronger then that. Willunga will still have guitnick in the two's didn't do enough the other week to earn a recall i think as he didn't move from the square all day and there captain gilbert and moose will be back in helping counter myponga's height up fwd. They are the september kings will be too experienced and physical for myponga. Willunga 6 goal win.

Thanks for the praise guys, just tried to state the facts to show form and possibly lead to a winner. But it is GF day and prior form counts for nothing if you dont bring it. Pretty hard to pick any of the games with any degree of confidence.

Should be a great day all-round.
