Wasnt a happy camper yesterday. Onkas lost to Torrens Valley in the A grade by 1 point. Wasnt the bets looking game of footy ive ever seen but the umpiring was the worst ive ever seen. It was Rob Wyld and the bloke that looks like Lurch (Cant remember his name). Lurch wasnt to bad i guess but Rob Wyld took the game into his own hands and really tried to trust himself into the lime light. He paid 3 free kicks to Onkas all day including 2 in the last quarter and i was i counted what he paid to TV but i dont want to make things up (would have been 20 - 25). At one stage the onkas full back took a mark about 2 feet infront of the goal line and the Torrens Valley goal umpire, who wasnt even standing on the line calls it a goal. Rob decideds to blow time, run in for a chat and without even calling in the boundry umps, allows himself to be over ruled by a 4 foot midget with his head stappled to his shoulder. I guess this was to be expected as we beat his belovered Hahndorf last week.

Apart from this calamity Onkas were down by 5 goals at half time and didnt shown enough respect the TV in the first 2 quarters and with Chris Shee out this week we failed alot across half forward.

A-Grade - Blackwood : (8. 9- 57) defeated Ironbank : (7. 13 - 55)

Blackwood had a four goal lead mid-way through the final term. Then Hahndorf kicked 4 goals and a couple of behinds to get in the lead. With only about 1 minute to go a Blackwood player (Brad Jones) got a free kick on the half-back line at the club-room end for a holding the ball . A 50m was then paid (I think for not returning the ball properly). As Jones went to kick the ball into the forward line, the Hahndorf player jumped over the mark and another 50m was paid. With the mark moved to 30m-directly out in front, Jones took his time and calmly slotted the goal. The ball went back to the centre and Blackwood cleared it and a mark was taken on the 50m arch and then siren went. Blackwood wins by 2 points

Well! Some bloody interesting results! I thought Lofty would get challenged but again IB play the smaller confines better and the hoodoo continues! I think we're gonna have to wait for a full round to see who's really gonna challenge Barker again

Alaska, Blackwood had 4 missing from the previous weeks game against Ironbank. Those missing were - T. Edwards, Captain P. Magary plus there were also two missing due to injury, with Ruckman M. Padroth missing with an ankle injury and young-gun S. Fotheringham, missing due to an illness.

can you explain to me who Phil Dudley is? according to the clearances page, it has been denied. and from what I heard, they had used 22 points up, before round 1....so they'd have to play some recruits in the b's or rest a couple each week.

That is CLASSIC! You only have to go on the EP Sports thread to see how much of a farce Mallee Park clearances are! They're renowned for signing then p#ssing off. Regardless of points, I doubt you'd see him for a full season over here.
He has a kicked a tonne of goals in Lincoln, different league altogether though.

I was unable to watch to Barkeroos game due to work, can someone summarise the game for me? I had heard Blackwood were missing some but I guess the weather played a part too, nullifying their tall forwards? And the Lofty/IB game wasn't in the paper, scores and best players please anyone? Looks like its going to be a close year!

This is a good site for pretty quick full time scores for ALL grades:

Anyone at the Uris Lobey game? Closer than I expected. I agree lebron, this season looks tight! Already the promoted team has a win and only 3 teams are winless 2 rounds in, 2 of those teams appearing not too far off the pace on the weekend.

Looked like Uraidla fielded a fairly young side. Did they have any out's?

Uraidla have a few young inclusions from last years grand final beacuse of a few players playing down in town and a few retiring. Vidic, sutherland and wade mclean were some of the names missing from saturdays game. Having said that lobethal were young and quick and had a few of their own players missing, they will be more then competitive this year. Paul Richards was the difference between the 2 sides. Heard on the weekend that Josh Starke will be returing to lobethal before the year is out also strenghting their line up further.

loby had 4 of there starters out on the weekend aswell, so both teams were handicaped from the start!! tigers had uris on the back foot from the start, was a extremely good tough game of footy!! Loby were 3 points up at half time and pushed out to a 3 goal lead half way through the third but uris being a very good side just pegged em back and didnt stop!! was still anyones game for all the last quarter but uris just had the legs to hold loby off by 13 points!! very good signs for the young tigers, but very disappointing result considering the position they were in!! Hopefully jezza rallies the troops and have a good one against TV this week, sure to be a big grudge match

Chatting with an umpire today who said the Banker - lofty game was one of the best he had umpired. Said the game was as tough as nails on both sides. What a ripper season central appears to be heading for in both A and B grades. Ump asked who the big guy at the back of the SCIB huddle at the breaks was. Surely not.

Both teams left heaps of room for improvement on Saturday, for the most part Lobey looked to be the better team as Uraidla fumbled and missed kicked for three quaters. Fairly average game of footy.... unlike the hamburgers at the Lobethal BBQ. Delicious!

Hey lebron. Sorry, I wasn't there. I do know that we've struggled on the smaller decks a little and prefer Heathfield's greater expanses. I do know that M Stapleton did a hammy so not a good night! Good signs with Flash kicking 6 I think so if he AND White fire on the larger grounds they should do better. In all honesty there looks to be a lot of teams around the mark & as I stated before round 1, injuries/depth could play a major role in who finishes where. And early wins are always important.
