It's one of those ones where it's happened and it's done but it needs to be addressed. It's lucky it's b grade I would hate to see the controversy if it happened in the A's.

Strath by about 12 goals. To big and quick for Yank. Next week L/C v Strath will be a beauty. 3 best sides are left. Willunga in the box seat. Like them or hate them you have to admire them , so professional for a country club.

(according to facebook..lol) :D

Face book says 1 point, bob Martin says 1 point, Gerald virgin says draw, time keeper says draw, scoreboard says draw so it's up in the air a little bit. Unfortunately with the game going longer than expected there was no time to sort the issue out in a calm and calculated matter because the a grade had to start so mclarens go through. Epic final. Mclaren boys very humble and we took it on the chin

The players were in position about to start extra time when the final score was agreed on. The A Grade would have waited. The McLaren bench were sure they were a point more than the scoreboard had them.

Not sure about Mclaren bench knowing that they were 1 point up,the coach had the boys ready for extra time and was not fully aware that there was a discrepency in the result.Great come from behind win but hope the young fella who had a seizure for Goolwa is ok,no one likes to see any young fella i9n trouble like that

Young fella stopped breathing for 3 minutes which is not good. After 6 second quarter goals the ambulance situation stole our momentum but we are glad he's ok. In hospital. But alive

good to hear the young fella is ok, our team manager definately told the assistant coach we were up by a point but neither told the coach or the players as we wanted to confirm with the umpires and i was told 1 ump had it as a draw, 1 ump had us up by a point and the time keepers had us up by a point which gordon tonkin confirmed that the time keepers had us up by a point, but all the drama aside it was a good game with goolwa getting out to 5 goal lead at half time and we came at them in the third and a few silly free kicks from goolwa probably cost them in the end, but to goolwas credit they fought back after being down by about 2 goals with 5 mins to play, it was more exciting than the a grade anyway!

Certainly sounds like it. Yank must have been competitive early but only kicked 1 goal after half time. Durdin and Gordon didn't trouble the scoreboard and Perry copped a bake and got dragged I hear. Word is both coaches are likely to go around again next year.

Anyone know what the story is at compass? BIG (costly) ad in the times + the normal Sunday mail ad. Waste of money cos I'm pretty sure Signman would have seen a normal sized one. Word on the street is players will walk if the current coach is reappointed. Has he actually been sacked?

Saw both games on the weekend willunga just out worked the creek with simple wet weather hard at it footy, thought the conditions would suit creek with there quick runners but willunga played the conditions smarter and were lucky to jag a few long goals out the packs when the game was on the line. Willunga making there 10th gf in 11 years. Felipe hill doing his hammy in the 2nd qtr hurt the creek lost drive in the middle as portlock had a brilliant last half and steele broke even with feast in the ruck.

Strath v yank was a close first half with strath up by 2 goals at half time not converting all the play they had the smaller mclaren ground had straths talls getting in the way of each other early. But in the 2nd half strath broke the game open and yank couldn't keep up with them yanks fwds having no effect on the game. Big wilson in ruck was good but had to ruck all day yank missing him up fwd with no targets.

Strath v creek will be a cracker the bigger enc bay oval will suit both teams running game hot conditions will make it the battle of the fittest. There are big rumours going round that 3 creek players done hammys sat(hill, leigh warren and norman) plus with butler and moore not playing last week, you would think strath will be liking there chances. Could it be strath v will gf 4 times straight?

Cheers for the report kitm. Shame for hill - been in excellent form in the last couple of months apparently. Injuries suck at any time but esp at this point in the year. That's footy I guess. Will be interesting to see if Creek can cover those losses at Bay oval.

Creeks - Finals - Injuries are 3 words that go hand in hand this time of year.
Whether its poor managemeant or bad luck who knows?
Wonder if Randal Follett is a chance of coming out of retirement to haunt Strath just one more time?
Creeks havent been full strength all year and have overcome most hurdles and i'd expect them to overcome Strath, JUST, but the damage may be done in their quest for the Flag.
Flag odds
Willunga $1.45
L.Creek $3.85
Strath $5.50

Willunga to win it. I see Sam Alexopoulous has been a solid player for them. How would his form rate in their b&f?

I wouldnt write the Roosters off just yet, they should get a full strength side back on the park this week with the inclusion of benny cousins into their on ball group and 1 or 2 others overcomming niggling injuries. with Hill being out for the creek they lose ALOT of run and drive through the midfield and off half back, the guy had been best on ground 4 weeks running in the games leading up to finals. Ill tip Strath to win by 5 goals creek to go out in straight sets! Dual of the day will be Jed Hickey Vs Ben Warren !

As Jackpot Jim pointed out earlier, you can't go out in straight sets if you've already won the first set! It will be a very good match this Saturday with the wide open spaces of Encounter Bay and the fine, sunny conditions complimentary to the running game of both sides. I think if both teams play to their potential, the Hawks will be too good but if either side is below their best they could find themselves watching the GF from the sidelines.

Strath have been undermanned most of the year with everyone fit at the right time. Creeks getting injuries which will hurt their midfield run.
Strath midfield to run over the Creeks with too much pace, and Hickey getting on top of Warren because of the lack of good deliveries coming in.

Strath to get up in a close one, within 3 goals.
