Of the games seen so far general field umpiring has been good, but something needs to be done about boundary umps, i know they are just kids but they cant even throw the ball in properly!! Someone in your department blg ump needs to spend some time with them teaching them so they are up to standard or get some kids a little older and stronger.

Seen my first game on the weekend, could not beleive coffee has gone from apfl and now umpiring A grade at BLG. He is still no good
Back to the creek it is.

no mercy,
and the difference between freeling and port adelaide is...!!!!!

Don't see Port getting smashed by 10+ goals every week.
Freeling this week to get smashed by 15 goals! =))

win/loss tally is the same!!! at least freeling have played in 3 grand finals recently, its a decade since port have been there and havnt even been close since, fast becoming the easy beats of the sanfl, they should just fold so the comp can do away with the bye!!

Fair dinkum no-mercy you dribble a fair bit of crap mate. From my observations i would say Freeling were one of the premier teams in the last four years, go back to the rock you crawled out from under.

Definitely agree with that. Often the throw-ins are falling short and landing in the lap of front and square on-ballers! Although there hasn't been much of an issue in the A grade, it has been very noticeable in the reserves and down. Could probably be fixed by teaching them to simply come in 5m from the boundary line!

Texas u mentioned foster and lay, what about young guys that have been in the senior system for a few years now like a carapetis, evans or costa, all plenty fit enough one would have thought. BLG ump i watched the Freeling v Willaston game and i thought Peter Dunstan was terrific and should deserve praise especially in shocking conditions. No mercy u bag Freeling a lot i see, but have you thought that in recent years crops and have been down so they can ill afford to be paying so many plays of days gone by as the 'Leal era'? being a real farmers town rather than a wine town such as tanunda or nuri?

Guys, cheers for the advice, but boundary umps below ressies are club so no issue with me. secondly, we realise that some kids who are younger doing the boundary arent physically strong enough to get the ball any higher, the ruckmen need to realise this and move into position accordingly!!!

easily? what about Lutze from South? Its a bit early to suggest two ruckmen stand out already...

Dont forget Cragg-Sappford from Nuri & Howard from GC's (Rep last year if I remember correctly)

Just shows the depth of Talls in the comp...

i think that wells and howard will be the ruckman and christie will be used as key position most likely, and Leske should definetly be the captain, inspirational on the field

Cragg-Sappford is the best ruckman in the comp....

Not sure why he wasn't picked last year in the rep side but he is the best tap ruckman in the comp..

Wells and howard would be the next 2 and Christie would be an ideal CHB!!!!

Christie no doubt will be playing rep footy for the BLG, but not sure where he will play, dnt think he'd make the ruck combo, and Brad Valentine would be first choice CHB

C-S probably doesnt do enough around the ground to get best ruckman tag, best tap ruckman though is a different story...

Wells is flattered a little by his midfield, but thats not his fault...

Christie came to the league as a ruckman, and as long as he breaks even in the 'taps', his work and skills around the group would easily be the best of this group.

Howard works hard all day, has an extremely good pack mark, disposal can be off on the odd occasion...

Must say I havent seen enough of Lutze, but I have been told put in some strong performances late last year...

Valentine has been playing at centre half back and then has been thrown into the middle in the last half the last two games, but not sure they can do this all the time, as Commane kicked five goals after Valentine was moved off him in round 1.

he'd be a matchup nightmare if he played on the ball, but the hole that he'd leave at CHB for the bombers would be massive and theyd concede many more goals id reckon

Show's how much you know about farming, I can assure you that the farming industry is a lot wealthier around Freeling than Nuri & Tanunda, you only have to look at the doom and gloom in the wine game and the amount vineyards and wineries going broke. The Freeling croppers have done fairly well over the past few years (due to being in a very reliable area) and a lot of this has gone back into the club.

The reason for Valentine moving into the middle is simply that is the Bombers lack midfield depth. Outside of Taylor (an absolute star), the majority of the on-ball brigade just lack a bit of class and pace (Andrew Turrell, Ben Higgins). Valentine has to be thrown in there to give Kapunda some drive. At least that's how I saw it when I watched them.
