BAYSRULE wrote:Funny you bring up the points and the EBay beating of Willunga... You may ask how many points EBAy played with that day.. 6 points to a FULLY LOADED Willunga....

Willunga have done a fantastic job of keeping players so the points system seems to have had very little effect on them. By my reckoning they played 13 (max 15) points that day which is the most they have played all year. A Miegel and McCard played (4 points total) that arent in their best side whereas Brown, Portlock, Genovese, Guitink, Paterson, Baxter and McDonald (3 points total) all missed. Other clubs are regularly playing colts to help keep them under their maximums.

Points system is great but does need some little tune ups. I'd like to see players moving to an area become 0 pointers. Looks as though season 2012 will see every club get 2 less points than this year which will probably lead to limited recruiting for most and perhaps we will have a very similar looking premiership table as this year. Although I'm sure that a couple of the bottom clubs would be sitting on large piles of cash and may be ready to pounce.

I guess the worry for me is the bottom 5 clubs in the a's supplying 4 of the 5 b grade finalists. Is this a product of the points system?

Hodgey was the man taking the mark gww

Bugger - visited the throne and missed that.

Hodge took a ripper against the Creek - could have been him. Takes them pretty regularly.

Yeah it was against LC.

They usually put the Almost Footy Legend videos on the msn site a day or 2 after the Thursday night they are shown.

I hear Goolwa are looking for a player coach next season? Or maybe another "larger" than life coach from the rmfl/mallee league?
Any truth LF? ;)

It doesnt allow for the weak teams to improve but the strong teams get stronger. the only thing it has done is sent quality players away from our league because clubs cant fit them under there points allocation. even when these players don't want to be paid they just want to play A grade footy and clubs can't signed them. SCRAP THE POINTS SYSTEM! ITS A UNFAIR JOKE!!

The point system has evened the gsfl up this year for sure, the point system will always be argued about. Probably doesn't seem to be working at the moment when lots of teams are not in the chase for a top 5 spot and don't have too much to play for. There have been a number of upsets this year that we definately haven't seen for a long time e.g enc bay beating willunga and strath losing to myponga. I would hate to know how many more recruits the creek$ would get without a points system.

Talking about the creek they are hot favourites for the flag! Haven't seen any cracks appearing close to finals time like previous years. Hopefully another 2007 upset result happens this year again, would be great to see there supporters turn on them again in a home gf.

Point system works - Its just SH.THOUSE footy departments with the wrong people doing the recruiting!
Not naming any clubs!

How so Red? A couple of upsets doesnt mean it's working.

The door is open for discussion with any coach playing or non playing. As for the "larger" than life mallee / rmfl coach if it's the guy I'm thinking of then you are better than damo Barrett because you posted this before I was told at the pub tonight

Why does it take forever for the scores to come up on sporting pulse when we input them at the end of the game... Anyone else know any other games results... Besides EBAY beating McLarens 16 14 to 14 11 in what was a fantastic game off football today.. Congratulations EBay on your finish to the season. ;)

Yes. Good day yesterday at the Vale........apart from losing. All shared a beer after the game. Why are they a bunch of knobs except for one (especially) supporter?
