just like to state at not one stage am i suggesting plympton could beat those sides full strength and im not wasting my time on the 'who's better' argument... i was as surprised as anyone that pfc have won there 1st two games, i thought we'd struggle with the standard of the country teams...but were not and im totally aware that all clubs aren't playing full strength. just happy were not making up the numbers in this comp, which im sure alot of people thought we would.
20/20 comp is a great concept i reckon...

I havnt seen many hills games since I left lobey but lofty when I was up there were an awesome team to watch even when they are giving u a touch uo. I still reckon the top 3 or 4 would match it though. That's just my opinion.

Are the big guns not playing for the hills teams.
You can't possibly tell me and no offence to plympton that they could really compete and beat the hills teams.
Plympton are a div 5 team and when I played in the hills a few years ago a div5 team wldnt even come within 15 goals of a hills team.
Yeah it's 20/20 but even then 10 goals loss wld be respectable.

wow you talk sh*t.. another easy cheap shot from you!!!. its 20/20, bit of fun, plympton are playin alot of young lads and arent playing there best side either... just like everyone else...[/quote

WUB it isn't a cheap shot it's a FACT!!! Plympton are a middle of the table Div5 club going up against hahndorf lofty and barker who on a gd day wld beat most div 1 teams. Having played in the hills central league against those teams back in 06-07 lofty were paying in excess of 7k a week on players so yes it's only a fun 20/20 comp but really if they played their full strength sides plympton wldnt come within a 10 goals+ of these teams. That's a FACT . Maybe the air in the U.S has affected ur brain

well there is no way of finding out!!!
maybe it wasnt as good as you thought!!! as like most things, they get better when you leave???

I've got 2questions for u WUB. in 2006 wot div was plympton in hmmm maybe 5 and now in 2011 wot div are u in???
U havnt improved mate ur still stuck in div 5.........

Sounds like you guys have had a really good hit-out and it is a great advertisement for the 20/20 comp and may encourage further participation from other clubs if it is run again. Well done.

Have heard the same ATS, apparently he told them he would not tolerate U17s drinking at the club and they told him they're trying to run a business and that should have nothing to due with the coaching staff!
Sounds like a good old southern club!

I didn't hear that one overthehill. I heard many senior players would've walked if he got the job. Apparently not too many liked his coaching style and the way he handled some things at Happy Valley.

I heard the same ATS. Be an intersting year for Onka Valley I reckon.

Considering it's Heathfield and it will no longer be summer you might be hoping the beers are warm.

To be played at 1 venue only and profit shared. $20k in prize money involving 6 teams. 3 HFL and + 3 SFL sides. Run in march and sponsored with live TV coverage on channel 31. Was in place for this year but a certain club had to commit and they have now. Mjor sponsor I believe a major newspaper.

If this is true I think it is a fantastic idea & awesome for local footy. Reckon the venue would be either Happy valley or maybe even brighton as they are getting new lights put in... It would be even better if more leagues did this & then the best teams from each league play off to be champions!

went and had a look at lobethals internal trail last night... some pretty positive signs and the new players seem to be fitting in and lifting the spirits of all the local lads!! A new lad James Skinner was almost duking everything that came within touching distance from him will be a very handy pick up and young huxter looks to have hit the gym hard this summer and would easily have the biggest pipes at the club!!! few missing still that will come back through the next few weeks as the lead up to proper trails begin!! Also see that Ed Johnston is giving Tom Hanks from castaway a run for his money with the disgusting looking facial hair he is proudly showing!!! Tigers for big improvers this year

Think you will find Valley got stars in their eyes because an ex AFL player Matt Dent applied and this is one of the reasons Steve Wallace didnt get the job. Apparently he was a well respected and successful coach at Valleys when he coached the U18s there but wasnt about to put up with the motley crew of undisciplined kids that hang around the club now drinking underage. Dont know that too many would have left if he did get the Valley A grade job - he coached alot of the current A Grade to a premership in the U18s a few years ago. Big on discipline and club culture though

I haven't had a look at the clearance page for a couple of days and at the time I didn't see too many clearances to Lobethal. Not suggesting they haven't picked up any players but you think you'd have the clearance ball rolling at this stage.

I wouldn't worry too much about the clearance page. I don't think its been updated since they put the first lot of info up. Then you have some lucky clubs that manage to pick up a few players late in the preseason that really boosts a teams depth and quality. Ironbank for example last year after a few early beltings.

Yeah, it's pretty slack. Some of those 'pending' have been for over 2 weeks which doesn't seem normal, some clearances have gone through in a matter of a few days so perhaps Sporting Pulse isn't up-to-date.
