So there is a game this week...

Bays v Will by plenty
Compass v Creeks on the bit
Pongy v McLaren Should be too good
Strath v Goolwa Easily.
Yank v VH Form and location says Yank, heart and hopes say Victor.

After some great early season competitiveness from the lower sides, the margins are growing. Injuries seem to have really hurt Bays and Goolwa.

Would have to agree with the comment about Bays and us. Cant speak on behalf of the Bays, but aside from injuries I think both clubs would also have a few blokles that have put the cue in the rack. We have a couple that have work committments (pilots, police, dentists etc), a couple that have just become fathers and a couple with on going injuries who will be out for the remainder of 2011.

I agree with FOD's tips but will lean towards Yank over VH in what I reckon will be match of the round.

Football will be as normal for Saturday 30th July the Umpires Panel have withdrawn their services for the Junior and Senior colts Matches in protest at the decision of the SANFL Appeal Tribunal to reduce the penalty for striking an umpire- the matches will be umpired by Club volunteers.

Yes, that impacts to upset the people who reversed the decision...

It was mentioned on the news tonight that all GSFL umpires would wear red armbands on Saturday to signify that 'They see Red' over the SANFL decision.

All umpires statewide wear a red armband to show your support.

I'm still going to cover my SANFL badge as well.

The Metro South Junior Football League Umpires Panel will wear red arm bands this round to show their support for the GSFL and their umpires.

Heard David Shipway on the radio tonight promoting that the state country side is playing WA before the showdown at AAMI on Sunday.
Found the sides:

Well done to Carroll, Pratt and Burdett on their selection. Interesting to see Pratt named captain - I reckon Shipway said Josh Vick is captain.

Is the EB lad good enough to go further with his football once his suspension finishes. I was just thinkink is this why he has fought against the lenght of the ban. if he is not a great player you would think that after playing 17s that the ones that are not great drop out of footy anyway so why fight the ban. Just my thought. I follow the RMFL but i totally support the GSFL in their stance.

Waste of time sending in actual BRILLIANT acts of skill to 'Almost footy legends', they're only interested in dogs rooting a football or goal umpires lighting up a fag b4 waving the flags.

Sporting pulse says 4 points but either way. a MASSIVE upset and keeps the race for top spot alive for the Creeks who snuck in with a 8 point win over Compass.

Sure is. I note quite a few names missing from Willunga's team (Baxter, Brown, Portlock, Paterson McDonald, Guitink +). Rested? or maybe the coach had to grab some players at Footy Park tomorrow? eg - Pratt played for Yank today. Still it does show that the flag is by no means decided. Compass got pretty close to Creeks and the Victor Yank game was a great tussle all day.

Good win by Pongy. Mclarens up 8 goals to 4 half way through the second but then the muddies got going. Timmy Howell, Wade "Flowers" Hutchinson, Gaskin were very good. Tough run home but the dream is still alive!

Dunno WOW - I heard last night that he pulled out of the state game due to illness, but he played today.

Actually, Shipway said most guys with league experience had stood aside to give others a chance - maybe that was why :-??
