He wont be playing for Bays - remember Dick Littlely said on the Bay site:

"The Encounter Bay Football Club deeply regrets being involved in the incident and has determined that the major offending player will be eliminated from the Club. He will no longer play or take any part in any Club activities now or in the future."

HE WILL NOT PLAY AT THE BAY... As we all know Big Dick Littlely is certainly a man of his words...

And if they spoke to any of the hierarchy at EB?
Took past discipline issues into account?

The decision is not doing the kid any favours or making him face up to the consequences of his actions really IMO.

I am 99.9 % sure they had NOT spoken to any hierachy at the BAY.... Definately not teaching the kid any lessons.. or any other undisciplined Senior Colt in the Association.. Isnt there talk all over here about the undisciplined senior colts.. so what is this teaching them,,, I personally dont think the kid was that good anyway and Ive watched him most of last year.. as we all know undisciplined kids dont make AFL players regarding of where they come from.

Feel for the GSFL umpires, wont be easy blowing the whistle while wearing a mouthguard.

Also noticed E.Bay have lost a LOT of senior colt players recently. They only had 9 players warming up Sat b4 the game b4 being joined by 1/2 the junior colt team to make the nos. up.
Well done to the young E.Bay lad who slotted a goal in the last qtr, rumour has it that he was up for $50 or $100 from his parents if he kicked one.

Yep this is true.. this little battler is only a second year junior colt, too I must add.... Always hard to field teams at the Creek for us.. but with our senior colts this year it is harder.. Very hard when a couple of players have left due to being disciplined and not liking it.. a move the club had to made.. But how was it when the young lad kicked it.. Was like they had won a grand final.. BUT thats what a good team effort is like.. The Senior Colts that remail at the Bay are a committed lot and I hope that they get some sort of smiles out of their footy.. Even tho they are belted each week.. KEEP UP THE SPIRIT I SAY...

OH and I forgot to mention how much guts and club spirit have these Junior Colts got that are filling in at Senior Colts Level... There was one that is a first year three that are second year and the rest of the fillins on Saturday were third year.. How is that for Club spirit, when we have kids of that claaibre that are willing to play kids that are four and five years older tan them and twice their size just to help out their Club... Credit must go to these kids...

Certainly was a creditable effort from the depleted E.Bay team, never stopped trying despite the scoreboard ticking over as fast as the meter on a petrol pump in favour of their opponents. As mentioned their efforts were rewarded when the young fella finished off a good passage of play by marking unattended at the top of the goal square and the resultant kick just cleared the pack for a memorable goal, undoubtedly the highlight of the match.

I don't think you'll have to worry about anything like that happening on the field were your umpiring wasps. You'd be more likely to trip over a red can walking to the showers after the game and knocking a tooth out!

Well done. Make the guys that cop it each week feel even more disliked and unwanted. If I were the league, I would be hitting up the SANFL for a full compliment of umpires this week. Let their league suffer, not ours.

Makes the GSFL authorities look like p*ssholes in the snow, not worth being there because their decision has been a waste of time and effort.![/quote]

Exactly what happened in the RMFL. Now they have no tribunal members at all.

SANFL are as weak as p#ss on this .
I hope the umpires decide not to strike but put pressure on the SANFL to supply them as stated by neverwas neverwillbe
All clubs should look at holding back their SANFL levies and fees and send a strong message to stay away from interfering in country leagues

We all play by rules, right?

One rule is over and above a certain suspension (in my League it is ten matches), the person has the right to challenge it, and the next step is the SANFL.

So the correct process has been followed.

However, this means the SANFL has looked at the evidence, and decided that the original penalty was too harsh (whereas public opinion seems that it was not harsh enough).

Absolute crap IMO.

I played with an aboriginal in Pt Lincoln, who was racially abused by the ump, struck him, and got his initial twenty year ban reduced to nine years. He'd hit his forties by the time I got to play with him, and it was obvious he was some sort of very talented footballer back in the day, but he had so many regrets over what he missed.

This muppet should have the same.

Isn't there a rule that if you get suspended for 12+ games (career total i think) you get a life ban?

Why not from now on we just send every tribunal hearing to the SANFL! They obviously don't respect the decision of the country leagues these days.

While I don't blame them for striking...

Why only junior matches?

Just my opinion- but if they're going to make a point it should have been all matches, not just the juniors of the GSFL 'suffering'.

Ran in to an Umpy today and they wanted to strike all matches but Gordon Tonkin convinced them that clubs could suffer financially if host clubs had to abandon matches for the day. Junior umpires will be found within club you would think.
Well done Umpy's - taking a stand but still willing to compromise, lets hope that there strike action makes the press and the SANFL have to publicly answer for there actions.
