Completely different team to when they played in SFL I've heard. is this true?

Country gf was very dissapointing. Dare say it would have been alot closer had of Meadows or TV played in the decider.

What are the tips for the central GF's this week. I think Mt Lofty will be too strong in the A's and B's. u17's will be close, as the devils have shown that they are playing with some real purpose at the right time of year. However, blackwood have been the dominent side all year. After saying that i will go for Mt Lofty in an upset. Mt Barker will take out the u/14's decider without any dramas.

It is a shame that Lobethal wont be hosting the gf. That ground has a great atmosphere for finals football. But i suppose balhannah will be a buzz come saturday.

Ben Gordon to be dropped for Senior Colts spearhead Brett Pistola!!!

I guess i was wrong about the devils under 17s, showed great character in the last quarter, and Pistola was struggling for a kick so felt the need to start fights, terrible stuff.

A grade-Uraidla by 2 goals in the A grade
B grade- Mt Lofty by 8 goals
under 17-Blackwood by 11 goals
under 14-Barker by 7 goals

A few additions Danielle would be one of note but still a lot of players that played southern league, very interesting to see if they go up to central, does someone need to come down to make room for them

Pistols wasn't to blame for those fights. Ironbank have some dead set meatheads in their U17's who are encouraged by even bigger meathead supporters. Pistols just sticks up for himself, and doesn't take that sort of crap. He also kicked 3 goals. Hardly struggling?????

I think your tips are almost spot on. You just need to tip against Mt Lofty in the B Grade and you'll be on the mark. Just like whoever does the weekly tipping in the budget.

Good to hear that it wasn't the supporters of the A grade teams that were involved - I was hoping that it wasn't, because of the exmple this would set for the kids, etc, but now find out it was the kids involved!! Those kids should be suspended for at least the first six games next year.

Regarding Kangarilla - they were a strength in SFL div 2 before the two divisions merged weren't they?. Being getting thumped by some of the heavyweights down there would be akin to playing Onkas, Uraidla, etc - probably not quite up to it. In effect, they probably are still around the mark they always have been. But picking up a reigning Mail Medallist obviously a huge boost. While Kangarilla obviously very talented, it could be there "profesionalism"/ethic gained from playing a higher grade for a few years that made them so dominant (not saying they wouldn't have won anyway).

Regarding them being in central or country div - look at Echunga. Ten years ago undeafeted two years in a row, went up, came back down and did all right for a while, but struggled last few years. Clubs need to seriously assess their capabilities and where they belong, ie Birdwood, and stick with that.

More effort should be put into trying to help some of the strugglers - CUE, Gum, etc. How, I'm not quite sure, but surely more of a priority than having Blackwood and Mount Barker play their second side in Country A-grade.

Sorry for the ramble - just love footy

i dont think anyone could abuse pistola for getting into that meathead Dan Key from ironbank, the bloke dead set tries to hold players hand when the balls down the other end of the field...ive seen the bloke deliberatly step ion a twist kids fingers the guy is gonna cop a fearful beating one day.
as much as i hate the bloke he did do a reasonable job on pistols, pistols dominated 1st quarter on dunbar kicking 2.3 and after that he became more concerned with kncking Keys out haha.

bit harsh to comment on him like that he is a fantastic player and was a great option up forward for the devs, dan key was playgin on him that bloke starts more fights than don king!

does nebody know wat is actually wrong with thomas hammy is it a strain or is he playing with something worse? sounds as tho he has been struggling more and more lately?

DevilsAdvocate... Any truth to the rumour that the pope over his comments about Muslims will be standing down and someone from Lofty is taking over.. Or is it the whole club.. Cos clearly you are all saints and have never done anything wrong. Just a group of fun-loving, bible reading, law abiding boys. Amen

TIPS
Lofty in A's. Just too many options. One has a down game others step up. Not sure there that same depth in Uraidla A's.
Lofty in B's. Form team all year
Blackwood in 17s. Dominated all year. Hold the trumps in the midfield and up forward.
Mt Barker in 14s. Dominated all year too

The under 17's game was the highlight of the day. As for the fights it was hardly anything to worry about. I do question how the league could allow the A grade coach to be the runner in the 17's for Lofty. Not sure how fair that was to Ironbank. Anyone agree, disagree?

Agree with your assessment and tips Winger.

Has anyone else heard about the rumour of two central clubs with excess players throuout the grades combining to field teams in all grades in Country next year. I have heard talks have started.

The logistics would be terrible though.
Imagine being a coach of any of those teams trying to get players.
What would selection policies be like to try to get a competive A Grade in Country.
Where to the players go after the match?
Would it not be better that these clubs support the Gums and CUE of the world? (who wants to drive miles for a home game).
With Blackwood moving on from HFL (as seems likely) and Birdwood going up the bye's arrive again although this new combined team would even out Country.
100's more questions for us to debate.

Disagree, it was entirely fair. I think the point of the matter is, what other clubs A grade coach (especially pagey in those leather pants...) would bother running for an under 17's team? I think it shows great club spirit in devil land. Go the devs on saturday!

Used to play in the Hills, so try to keep an eye on what's going on. The Hills has to be careful how it handles these issues coming up. It seems like it has done a good job with some solid administration over the last few years, as can be evidenced by the willingness of Nairne, Meadows and Kangarilla returning to the league.

when i played u17 there was nothing better than a senior player?coach helping out at training or games. good on granger for helping out and what a smart idea to. how many othe ra grade coaches will run for the colts i wonder. and once again it sounds like a ironbank supporter making up excuses. you need to realise that you were beaten by a better side and you deserved to loose coz ur boys were to cocky!
