Hey Duke, 'choked in the finals' = going out in straight sets... 'choked in the grand final' = means losing the grand final.
The Scud said Willaston choked in the finals, thats not true, they won the second semi so thats not choking in the finals, they choked in the Grand Final.
Sorry for simplifying things for you Duke. Shows your intelligence i suppose.

Duke & the Ango boys I have to side with you on this one, I was there at the 03 GF and you boys beat them fair and square and now have your name on the cup, Willaston do not, you where the number 1 side for that season, I think Bagsy is just trying to have some fun with you. Sounds as though the Blockies are confident with their training sessions but not a bad move when you think about it. They may lose this week and not have another chance to train there again in daylight, good proactive coaching I would think. I wonder if Nelson may also be thinking about a training run there now.

History will prove that Willaston defeated Angaston 3 times throughout the year and the closest the hillbillies got was 9 goals.

The GF was a Bradbury

Ango's was definately too good in 03. Better team on the day won fair and square! Willaston unfortunately didn't get any favours with their coach disappearing in the week leading up to the GF [-X

In other news, funny enough I hear a rumour that (correct me if I'm wrong) Mark Seelander will be the new Willaston coach in 2009???

Willaston fell over at the final turn and Angaston just happened to be there to pick up the cup.

Stirlo can Gawler Centrals go all the way this year ?

The tigers are a definite chance and are coming good at the right time, whether they can overcome the powerful outfit tanunda has is another story. It will be an interesting scenario because the tigers still have a few of their premiership players in the side that played in 01 which was held at willaston oval.

I did hear that Greg Phillips and a former coach Jamie Thomas have been approached.

You may not believe this, but as far as I know it's true. Steve O'Connor had a twisted testicle (ouch) and got out of hospital to watch training from a car and deferred operation to be at game. Went under the knife either the night of the GF or next day. had to leave straight after match. I believed though it was a 60/40 game (and am on record), because Ango's score in the 2nd Semi despite the margin was their highest against them for the year and was 25 scoring shots to 22. I don't believe Willaston choked however their response (perhaps understandably) to Angaston's rearranged lineup was minimal. Johncock smashed Green in the 2nd semi, however Olly moved him away from him into attack where he kicked some big early goals. Spanagel double teamed Johncock and the little known Dave Dahlenberg made a contest in any stoppages forward of half back. Spanna took the centre bounces. Willaston were working their way back into the game in the 3rd quarter when a stupid bit of play saw a free kick or mark reversed at CHB and become a 50 and a gimme. Game basically over from then.

Completely ridiculous debate JD, Ango won and that is it, no one cares about who came second(even if their coach had a twisted testicle). Ango backed it up by playing on the 04 GF, this proves that they where not just lucky but a good side. How BB played, I have no idea and don't care he was one of 21 in that side.

No Keith Gray to hand it to them on a platter though. Lampard/Menzel incident a big factor.

Brad Taylor B&S !

Always polls well and has possibly had his most consistant season i am told. Brad goes about his craft very much like former Richmond great Geoff Raines . His big hangers, ferocious attack on the pill, the ability to turn on a threepenny bit and kick a long racking goal shows his supperior class in the BL&G.

Brad ticks all the boxes necassary to claim this seasons Brownlow equivelant .
