What cant fit Scott Hahn into the line up? He only kicked 81 goals from a forward pocket. Maybe get out to a few more games next year.

Maybe showing your colours here Bag & Sledge. Hahn a certain starter in any BLG team of year. Probably agree re Rodda as he is more an impact player. Hughes kept Hahn to just 4 goals (2 from frees??) out of team total of 19 when they last met plus has also 'held' (or beat depends on how you view these things) Trewren, Thomas, Girardis amongst others this year. Doesn't mean automatic inclusion in TOY however shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. Brady would probably miss out in a paper team too, however if the team was actually going to take to the park he would have to be considered strongly.

PS - Tanunda's outlay 2008 approx $35,115 in direct payments to major players including sign on bonuses. Probably another $12-$15 in incentives, petrol money, free feeds, free shows and the odd bottle of wine which is shared amongst the rest. Wouldn't be much difference between them Barossa, Willaston (started season with $46k war chest), Gawler Central, South Gawler. Nuri, Kapunda, Freeling probably about $10-$15 (in all areas) below that. Angaston still pay in pounds and shillings so conversion too hard to do!

Well done Sunbowler, it sounds as though you have a good contact at the Blockies, they where about the exact figures that was given to me and as well I have no reason to not believe them, perhaps it might stop the jealous rumours on this site. From what I have also heard is that Barossa & Willaston are paying about the same as them, perhaps Don Brook should keep this in mind when he starts throwing stones at them. You where obviously at the game yesterday, looks like a complete flogging, should Barossa & the Blockies be a little worried about GC.

Tanunda and Barossa still favs to play in GF, however 4th time I have seen Central this season and they seemed bigger, harder and more relentless than previous three. Hahn's 13 fantatastic, could have been more, but they had options everywhere. Lubke and Nelson both there so I don't think they will take them lightly especially in a cut throat prelim where they have nothing to lose and all to gain.

I also heard that rumor r.e. 2003 grand final favourites and the absence of the coach in the week before.

at one stage you guys are saying the coach doesnt matter and now on the gf he does, alot of credit goes to angaston whom changed the way they played and the donnys had no answers, definately favourites but maybe the brooks learnt to run forward of the ball due to the previous success over ango and the ango boys played harder footy mentally because they had to to have a chance. it worked

Of course someone needs to be there to put the cones out, pick the team, make sure players know where their playing and maybe if they have time contribute something on the saturday.

From what i hear it was Willaston that changed the way they played, they went from champagne to shit in 2 weeks and Angaston could of gone backs to forwards at the change of each quarter if they wanted and no one would of known.

Stirlo, perhaps you should give Angaston some credit for putting Willaston under pressure and playing well themselves.

Angaston winning that premiership was like Steven Bradbury winning the gold medal.

Willaston fell over at the final turn and Angaston just happened to be there to pick up the cup.

Stirlo can Gawler Centrals go all the way this year ?

Two people have applyed at freeling for the vacant coaching role, Bob Ellis ex Tanunda/ Barossa coach and Corrie Eichner the current 17 coach.

I reckon your not playing with a full deck Hafey. Obviously got no idea about finals footy, It doesn't matter what happens in the MINOR rounds mate, Willaston was the best team of the MINOR round that year, but WHO CARES, they choked in the finals when you need to bring your best, and i had a great view of that grand final and Angaston brought there best. I think you all need to build a bridge and get over it, but dont critisies Angaston for being too good on the day. I could probably hook you up with a tape of the game to show you that no willaston players fell over, just out played.

I believe Willaston won the second semi final quite comfortably Scud. Research champ! They may have bean beaten in the grand final that year, but how you could say choked in the finals when they pumped Angaston in the second semi?

Your right they did pump angaston in the 2nd semi, but what game is the most important of the year. how would you describe Willastons efforts in the G/F.......i really hope they got a refund on there premiership Tshirts and hats they had made up.

Willaston knocked Ango off in 1999 when Ango were the hot favourites because they played good honest team footy, likewise in 03 when Ango knew they were behind the 8 ball but threw a few things around and played smart accountable football and thats why Angaston held the cup up that day.

What tanunda have done this year means nothing if they don't win the Grand Final.. If the rumours are true about booking willaston oval than they are making unwanted pressure. There the team that is exspected to win and there is enough pressure on the to do well. Would hate to see them go out in straight sets

B&S - Were you under the influence when you wrote this blog or is it sour grapes, I actually had to re-read the blog to make sure I wasn't stupid. No research needed, yes they did get belted in the 2nd semi, but at the end of the day Angaston have got their name on the premiership cup in 2003. The Scud has simplified things quite well.
