sounds like waybacks were gifted another flag
One Radio commentator apparently believed that the umpiring was one sided...maybe he had an axe to grind...
Gr8 win by the youngest ever WFC premiership side..really stood up against some pretty ordinary opposition tactics. Adam Whittaker was awesome...owns P Dudley..
Davo did a magnificent job on Miller, and Kano with 7 goals was the icing.
Well done to Landsy and the Under 17's.....sensational way to start the day and put enormous pressure on the MPFC.

Go Demons...

and btw marble park...it is official,
Marble Park wrote:That'd be because It is going to be one of the most one-sided grand finals in recent history.
There'll be more interest in the ressies, but only because of what happened a fortnight ago.

There's going to be a few more flags down at Pecker Park saturday night.

As much as i'm annoyed about RR having something to crow about, BOH you are correct in saying any premiership should and will be remembered. I've played without break for 16 years and am yet to win one in any grade. So congrats to the Tasmans reserve grade for their win. It was also suprising to see the results in regards to last weeks predictions. Waybacks really are MP's bogey side in GF's. Anyone care to explain some rational theory, or is it simply the fact of the added pressure put on MP being GF and then Waybacks getting under their skin?

What a sensational victory for the Wayback footy club in both grades. Must be commended for the way they played, to go in as underdogs in both grades and play awesome FINALS type footy they deserve all the accolades.
Rossco had a outstanding game from the box and his side followed every instruction to the letter. A young side given the chance to play with some flair and stick to hard tough game plan can take you anywhere.

Look I'm not Waybacks biggest fan as it may read but you have to give credit where's its due. Maybe a few other clubs need to take notice of how they conduct themselves as a club on and off the field, not just by there players but their committee people and supports, and really see what is involved to become a very successful footy club over long periods.

All teams that played on the day put in great performances as the footy was super.

I had a weekend in Port Lincoln and let me say I wont be coming back any time soon.
I had to wait 20 minutes for my snitzel burger at the football. I had to drink scotch as no beer was left at 3pm. I had to park my car next to some mallee park supporters who had 'friends' gather at the back of their car drinking and carrying on. The foul language and behaviour was about as bad as I have ever seen.
The game was a total dissapointment with the umpiring as bad as I have ever seen, every time the whistle went you just knew who would come up with the free and possibly a 50m penalty. I must admit that mallee park were very undisciplined and deserved to lose.
Then when the game ended the spray the umpires got when they left the ground was awful. The umpiring was bad but they did not deserve to be approached like that and given theat treatment and it was good that I got to see the true colours of the mallee park supporters.
My dinner at the Pier Hotel took 1 hour to come, however it was worth the wait. We then made our way to Oceans nightclub after a few post dinner drinks, what a dark dingy place that is and I couldnt hear myself think let alone hold a conversation with another human being (I might just be showing my age...I dont know). We mut up with another couple of friends from Tumby and had more beverages. After the pub we made our way to the takeaway palce near the Northern Hotel and this was our biggest mistake, we were verbally abused and told we were going to get smashed. The scenes that followed where complete mayhem as people gathered and started arguing which then turned into physical violence but it was mainly between one group of supporters. Arrests and continual harrasment continued as the 100 strong crowd continued to argue and fight.
We left and walked bakc to the Blue Seas Motel and I said to my partner "lets never come back here again". She agreed.
My bacon and eggs were cold this morning as well.

All I can say is enjoy your ordinary competition down there and never wonder why we dont want to merge or even contemplate it. I will be spreading the word up here to never even talk with the PLFL. Also you will have no umpires soon.

Grain_Grower you must be the biggest winger in the world mate, hows your form... your tipicle Great Flinders supporter, how was the people involved in organising the day supposed to know that there would be between 3500 to 4000 people at the game, come on grow up. It is hard to organise a day like a Grand Final, maybe you should get involved in one and see what it is like when people complain to you about havin no beer. The PLFL had done a good job on the day, would be good if clubs had helped out a bit during the day, but thats another story.

Some people need to give the umpires a break, they had done the best they could on the day, not there fault that some players lost there head and started lining people up, Great work Scott, Todd and Pappy,

Congrats to all clubs that won yesterday

Well I was at Crystal Brook for the Northern Areas GF last week, 7000 rocked up and they didn't run out of food or beer, not a bad effort for one club who ran the whole day, sounds like things weren't that well orgainsed in Lincoln which surprises me as everyone in Lincoln likes to talk up how good they are

Grain Grower have you sold your Back to Back t-shirts you tosser. Sucked in to Tumby Bay and the sour grapes are still there. Shows you money cant buy you a premiership.

On to better things you bloody beauty - what a win. We deserved it and were the best side all year. Tasmans what hollow victory. In the B's MR played their Grand Final last week and in B's the week off is gold. Heard the turn up to the Rooster after party was what everyone would expect - bugger all (the tradition continues). Shouldve come over to ours we were pumping at the Palace.

Next year we will do bigger and better things with our side as we are young - I wouldnt doubt it if we go undefeated for two in a row.

The tradition continues and continues and continues................

Was going to jump on here and congratulate Waybacks, but no.
BTB, all I wrote was what most of the Pt Lincoln football community thought, tosser.
Having said that, I'm absolutely stoked that MPFC lost.
NOT that Waybacks won, but because MPFC lost.
They are the most undisciplined bunch of football people I've ever seen.
I had the displeasure of standing next to some MPFC supporters, and god they're a bunch of peanuts.
Well done to Tasman B's, the best side of the past few years winning the flag, well deserved.

But they weren't silly enough to put it in writing...
Eski..thanks for the comments. We definately used the MR 2004 premiership as the basic blueprint for our 2008 campaign. A young side with a sprinkling of quality seniors, very fit, disciplined and playing to the same script. Great feeling when you back your kids and they repay you in spades.
Interesting point was that only 3 players that played on Saturday were part of the 2006 GF losing side. Huge turnaround in player stocks.

Big day at the club yesterday, and the clippers came out later. Thought I walked into an indian reservation with the amount of mowhawks.....
