There is one thing for sure no one has a clue how much each club is paying out. It's a stupid thing to waste time on considering everyone is always guessing. Yes Tanunda ,Barossa and freeling are known to pay big money but again no one has facts. Im sure there is other clubs in the BLG that pay good money but fly under the radar but again everyone would be guessing...

Master
By Freeling having 14 from last years GF i would dare to say they are still paying out good bucks, that was what i was referring to
They are also known to offer sign on fees, so some of their inj would have got that anyway
Greenwood
Newberry
Both were offering themselves around pre-season and was quite happy to devulge what they were getting at Tanunda
Seeing they are there in 2008, one would assume that other clubs wouldn't could'nt match
Highest paid ????????

I know what you were saying!!! Tanunda with the list they have got surely would be having to fork out a fair bit this year. Britton, newberry, greenwood, kennedy, they wouldn't play for free!! It is very easy to think these players would be on more than $ 500 a game.

You must be the don brook who lives under the bridge, most of the willaston people were glad to see occer move on. The man is very intelligent but he doesn't have the abilities to improve an entire club, he makes a very good team manager/recruiter, not the head coach grass roots football clubs need for sustainable success.

its a intresting point you raise Stirlo, back in my day things were handled alot different and maybe Willaston need to get back to basics and rebuild this once powerful and feared club. The current committee is a dead fish , you cut it off at the head first. Sounds like there has been some major problems in this area over the last few years and the clubs on field performance is reflecting on this.
I have been told recently about Willastons last taste of minor success , i am talking about playing in the GF . There coach went missing the week leading up to Grand Final day and the rest is History . Odd's on favorites Willaston were blown off the park.

Who really is to blame ?? who knows ??
What i dont know about football isnt worth knowing .

Hafey, changes do need to made at the top for willaston to move forward but my mates at tigerland and i am sure the south boys would be happy to see it continue on its merry way.

I also heard that rumor r.e. 2003 grand final favourites and the absence of the coach in the week before.

at one stage you guys are saying the coach doesnt matter and now on the gf he does, alot of credit goes to angaston whom changed the way they played and the donnys had no answers, definately favourites but maybe the brooks learnt to run forward of the ball due to the previous success over ango and the ango boys played harder footy mentally because they had to to have a chance. it worked

I'll try and give it a crack Skip. I had my conservative formula - $77K round it off make it $80K. This is taking into account best player payments, petrol money etc (haven't allowed for coach). Although the blockies will give ya the spuel about the underwoods sponsorship and other people living in cheap accomodation. Does any one know when and where Blockies wake is being held? couldn't find it in the notices this week.

A Question for the Duke, you seem so wise and have so much knowledge of not only this league but also ive seen you on the Adelaide Plain forum, have you played footy in both leagues.

Team of year.

B.Taylor A.Kennedy B.Wall
Brady Commane Leske
Mclean B.Taylor(g/c) J.Rodda
S.Baker Christie Gibson
B.Hughes Valentine Prior

RUCKS- Cragg-Sapsford, Newberry, M.Steltzer

Int.- Pech, Wells, Sharpe

Probably unlucky- C.Harvey from Ang. Burns the footy to much for my liking, and very undisciplined.....

This weeks tip!!! Gawler centrals to win. 4 goals. Exspect Kapunda to be with them early but Centrals just to strong all over the ground. Howard to dominate the ruck and Hahn to finish with a lazy 5.

Was at that game.

And Ango definately changed their side around. I saw them play early in the year and it was a completely different set up on GF day.. Basically the forwards were defenders and defenders were forwards. Worked a treat...

Yeah well posted Scud!!! Your team is a disgrace! What has Rodda, Hughes, Brady done?

What cant fit Scott Hahn into the line up? He only kicked 81 goals from a forward pocket. Maybe get out to a few more games next year.

So Rodda has had a better year than South's wingman Anthony Johnston? I think not...

Texas, Picking Teams like this always come under fire, thats the beauty of it. Im sure when the AFL all australian team is named you wont agree with some of their selections. At the end of the day you could very well be right with AJ, but have seen a fair bit of Rods and he has been really good in the games i've seen.

Sorry to say but Rodda is not in the same ball park as AJ.... Rodda tries very hard and is a contributer for nuri but AJ will nearly win south's B&f and has stood out in many games this season. Plus Rodda has missed the last few games because he has been overseas..

Nice to see you're still well and truly on the Tanunda bandwagon skippy, but you have no idea in regards to what their players get in terms of incentives etc, not everything is going through the club's books I think the Duke is pretty accurate with his $80-K figure paid by the club that wont include prime jobs, blocks of land and the like.

JD the only reason the Blockies keep coming up is that they are doing so well this season and hence we keep discussing them. "Blocks of Land", you really are on another planet, since when have clubs in this league given away blocks of land, especially in Tanunda when they are going for $170K +, come up with something sensible. I will still certainly stick with knowledge that both Barossa & Tanunda are not actually paying out as much as everyone thinks, it is the tall poppy syndrome coming out. Freeling would have been up there but injuries have prevented this. I have it from a Blockie that I can trust that it is arond the $50k mark including incentives, but JD throw some land in for the top 4 and it blows out to $730K, things must be good in Blockville. All pure speculation boys including my figure, perhaps it is some jealousy from all of us that aren't Barossa & Blockie supporters.

Kapunda to win in a close one, GC a little rattled after last week and the Bombers with a weeks rest and running at full strength.
