It would be good to watch Wade Stevens get towelled up by Carl Semmler tommorow.
Wade will have to take his shovel that he leans on all week to the game and use it on Carl.

However I will be at the hockey watching our women win again.

Both with fitness tests tonight i believe. The sound of a twanging hamstring tonight would signal the end of the season for either one of them.

bad luck to the U/13s a brave performance

who was that umpire in the b grade who ruined a good game?

great game in the a grade, credit to both sides. waybacks by a couple of points. Meyers would be feeling a bit down tonight wouldnt he? after his half time free.

I heard at the football that ramblers won. djd GG? The conditions would have evened up the game up there one would have thought.

i was boundary umpire in the ramblers/tumby match so i think i can give report. i think i said in an earlier post that this match would be alot more even then people thought. the conditions were tough. ramblers had to hold prime, they did. tumby had to pay respect to scotty blacker and minhard who are the ones who get them going, they didn't. minhard belted both coad and jamesand blacker was a star especially in the second quarter when they were going into the wind. both fitzgeralds, corey and shaun were great all day and as both are great left foot kicks their disposal really stood out in the tough conditions. on the flip side tumby apart from maggot in the second half were awful. their kids have had it easy for along time and yesterday they found it very tough. the conditions did take prime out of the equation a little but it didn't get down their often enough. ferret and jefferson had one them days with ferrets poor disposal costing his team when he did get it.
at the end of the day the team who got their heads over the ball first, won.

I along with the TBFC are in a state of shock.

The conditions did even up the game and Crispys and Sammys influence was quelled understandably in the awful conditions.
Our centre sqaure performance all day was awful and djd i think you are correct in saying we were outcoached as nil respect was given to the opposition. The disposal of so called big name players left a lot to be desired and continually left the crowd shaking its head.

Jamesy worst game ever son and try taking your aggression out on the football

It will be interesting to see if Horgan coaches again here.

Typical Tumby just think its going to happen.....going by the reports I got today from several sources We should have lost by a lot more absolutely smashed all over the place. Far too complacent and any team should not be complacent against Ramblers. Oh well bring on cricket season fellas..........

As we know rossco clarke is a big reader of this site. Lets give him some advice on beating the peckers.

my advice would be to get under the skin, dont be weak like a fortnight ago. target the ones who lose the plot. as we saw in the reserves on saturday this works. look for matchups up forward and when you have the right one isolate them up forward in the 50. tag jeremy jackamara and harry miller with one of his young runners. hope for bad weather.

Thanks for the advice RR. Will definately use some of that this week.

Pretty impressed by our young group on Saturday. Played smart footy when we needed it, and were sensationally led by captain Minya. One of the best captains games that I have ever seen at our club.
Had visions of 2006, when we kicked 1-8 in windy conditions in the first quarter to blow our chances. Always thought that 15 points in trying conditions might be enough to defend...luckily proved right.

A grade playing in our 5th GF in 6 years, and under 17's in our 3rd in a row,

WAYBACK GRAND FINAL SUPPORTERS DINNER

Postby bluestheboy » Mon Sep 15, 2008 9:56 am

On Thursday 18th September at 7:30 p.m. we are holding a Wayback Supporters tea at the clubrooms.

The League and Under 17 teams are playing in the Grand Final this Saturday at Centenary Oval and we wish to follow the successful format that we employed in previous years in showing our players the support they have from our supporter base.

Both of these teams displayed the true Wayback spirit by playing superb, “gutsy” last quarters to ensure their place this Saturday.

The Club encourage all Waybackers to come and watch training, attend the tea and barrack for our players at the match on Saturday.

The tea is also a great opportunity for reminiscing and sharing of experiences between generations so that the tradition continues.

As is the normal practice a short talk will be given by David Hawes, a premiership winning coach of Wayback Football & Sporting Club.

Our senior team is the youngest in Port Lincoln and would benefit from the atmosphere of tradition and expectations that are associated with it.

There will be a nominal charge of $7.00 to cover costs.

The tradition continues.........
