Played 9 reserves in 09 according to this:

http://www.sportingpulse.com/team_info. ... 9-10050864

And then a couple of games for Henley A1 reserves last year as I said. Still not sure how he could be 0 points.

FOD, he would be zero points because the points system Is only relevant to what you did in your last playing season(2010) which for him only being a B grade player makes him 0 points. It is irrelevant what he did in 09 or 06 or whatever . He would still be 0 points for season 2011 even if had of played 22 AFL games in 2009.

Would he be an A grader in a good side?

i dont think so but he could prove me wrong . struggled to get in the bay a grade when they were only middle of the road so it would be hard for him to make victor s really strong side

Johnny, how will you go getting a game after the recent falling out with the senior coach?
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

Thanks for that -makes sense now.

So Div 1,2&3 players would be 3 pointers, and lesser Divisions are 2 pointers. But Div 1 Reserves (or any team less than a club's A grade) are zero points. Interesting.

I'm not that familiar with the SAAFL - anyone know where the Div 1 reserves rank compared with Div 2,3,4 etc.

The better teams, ie. SHOC & Henley reserves would mix it up with the bottom Div 2 teams and the majority of Div 3 teams i'd reckon. Some pretty good players struggling to get a game in the A grade of these teams.

Im pretty sure the point system goes on your past 2 seasons of footy. When we recruited Braidwood to jervois, he had been out of footy for 1 season but was still 2 points.

Petoe is correct. Just checked CFB Regulations Handbook (Page 43)
B. State League Players (SANFL, AFL VIC, WAFL)
A player who has played a majority of matches for the Senior team for a Club or Clubs in any one of the above State Leagues in their previous playing season

The confusion with the 24 months / 2 year thing may have come from the clause stating that a player that has played no football in that period is automatically 0 points. Using Braidwood as an example going to Jervois, he would have been a Category 1 player which equates to 3 points. His previous year played being at Compass. Beacuse he didnt play in the year prior (eg played a compass / year off / the jervois), he had 1 deducted making him 2 points at Jervois.

In Hanks case he played 2010 for a club in Category 1 which equates to 3 points, however it also refers to "Senior Football" which represents "A Grade". In 2010 Hank played a "majority" of reserves football, making him 0 points. Strange to think that he should be different to Braidwood but it does get based on the players 'previous season' as stated and takes in to consideration where the "majority" was played

That is my take on it anyway. Could be off the mark?

I would like to thank the Goolwa Football Club for the use of their facilities for our training camp on the weekend. To Brett Pedler for his efforts to make our stay enjoyable, with his committment you hope the footy club gets some overdue success. Our boys were absolutely done after training at various locations in goolwa for 6 hours yesterday, but left knowing it was a very rewarding weekend.Once again thank you from Hope Valley Football Club.

Yeah that's where I got to with it too. cheers

/cynicism So if someone is thinking about having a year out or has a long term injury and may be thinking about changing clubs, they should make sure they play a B grade game somewhere that year so they can become a zero pointer and thus more marketable. /end cynicism

I see Sam Mcdonald has a clearance in to leave Strath, big loss! He got stacks of the footy when they played victor. There's a few quality players leaving. No doubt they will be replaced though.

Yes quite a turnover.

Munn, Champion, Chubb from west have been the name recruits talked about.
