Greenwood must be on the same as Britton just ask anyone from Panther land. He was close to joining them until Carl put in hand in his pocket.

thats the funny part of blockie we dont pay much money comments, yeah the club may not but plenty of others from outside the club do.

Don Brook unfortunately too much bad blood has passed under the bridge to get oconner or nelson back, a few ex committee people burnt those bridges, but they may have their reasons. it was a very messy time when oconnor left and Gibbons took over

Hey Don Brook is simon stewart still around the club, he is a champion bloke and much underated footballer they reckon he nearly cracked it into the A grade once under Oconnors reign, he could have gone far with his footy but he is a Saints supporter i believe so footy would be a tough sport to follow

i think at least for the club they would not have had the mass exodus of players, who the majority had no respect for gibbons as a coach and this gave alot of them the excuse to leave, i believe the donnybrooks are missing that group of 26-31 year old players who could support their kids, if the kids get flogged they move on pretty quick.

[quote="Don Brook"][quote="Hafey"] I see on another posting asking why O'Connor left us, we all wish both Occer and Nelson never left.

You must be the don brook who lives under the bridge, most of the willaston people were glad to see occer move on. The man is very intelligent but he doesn't have the abilities to improve an entire club, he makes a very good team manager/recruiter, not the head coach grass roots football clubs need for sustainable success.

Under Occer rein we won the club of the year in 2003 and then i think Barossa won it in 2007 and 8, this award is based on the whole clubs performance, Facts beat opinions all day every day Stirlo

That club award indicates very little about the clubs whole performance or what plans they put in place for the future. Tanunda will win it this year and their junior colts finished bottom and their senior colts finished 7th and its been well documented on this site that they have paid alot of money to win that coverted $1000 club award. Your facts are fiction.

Im not sure the facts are fiction.... Tanunda have had very good jnr's over the past few years. Now there senior sides are going awsome. this is all not fiction. The club award is a very good indication on how your club is going. That is from the President to snr coach onto the players.

Of course the award is biasis to the senior teams, and that is were all senior coaches spend most of there time,
and if all members of the Donnies were honesty all would agree we are still enjoying the fruit of Occer knowledge not only on the field but off, It is common knowledge that the board at the time when the Gibbons stuff took place
are still to this day unwelcome.

You can look through rose coloured glasses all you like don, from what i have been told, where this all went wrong was with the board who negotiated the gibbons/occonor dual leadership in 04 & gibbons for 05 deal. These were the same people that remained in power for 4 years afterwards, employed wilson and as is documented elsewhere on this site caused more issues this year with the captain.

So Stirlo, you are saying that Occer controlls Shaun Baker whilst Occer was coaching Kilburn and Baker was playing at Willaston. So when baker had his spat with Brooko after the kapunda game that all because of Occer, and then when the present board had the issue with the in fighting at the club that was bloody Occer again.
Facts and opinion again Stirlo..............

Nah Don, i was referring to the idiot that was in charge and made all those stupid decisions from 04-07, who apparently played a hand in making matters worse after the kapunda game.

The top club award does have a massive bias towards the seniors sides as their wins have more points on them. The blockies have been building towards this for a few years now, blind freddy could see that their base list was exceptional, even old Stafford wanted to coach them. I asked some people on this site a few weeks ago Don Brook to list all the Blockies payments and I have had no reply, so why don't you have a go if you know so much. The fact is that they are not paying out as much as we all think, neither is Barossa this season. In fact there is less money going around in the BLG than the previous two, mainly due to Freelings massive injury list. Willaston would be up there with the so called ego gang demanding a lot of money and probably would not be far below Barossa and the Blockies.

I'll try and give it a crack Skip. I had my conservative formula - $77K round it off make it $80K. This is taking into account best player payments, petrol money etc (haven't allowed for coach). Although the blockies will give ya the spuel about the underwoods sponsorship and other people living in cheap accomodation. Does any one know when and where Blockies wake is being held? couldn't find it in the notices this week.
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?
