definately not buying a flag, smart investing i would say.. if other mt barker players are leaving because of the amount of money the bay boys are getting there kidding themselves if they think they and or any other player in tht team is worth that much money, those 2 boys are single handedly bringing the cup to mt bobby, and they are the only reason they are. and the other 19 boys in that team arent worth half as much money as these boys are "supposedly earning"

a premiership is the best thing youll ever have, and every single player in that team will be enjoying for days and weeks to come! they wouldnt be enjoying it without the 2 players so i say deal with it and enjoy the success for atleast 2-3 years to come! coz they aint winning flags without those 2

you do realise when mt barker beat uri's on cabbage home turf, they were without fisher and byrt, and also lost block sometime in the first half.

mt barker seem like a well rounded team and it seems to me they are not being "carried" by these two players

Uraidla again for mine. As and Bs. The Roos have been the best side all year but unfortunately will count for little tomorrow.

If they were genuine about being a part of that club, they wouldn't ask for more $$ if they were already on a good wicket there.

I wholeheartedly agree that winning a flag is the best feeling. But with marsten kicking a tonne and a miserly defence, I don't think that these 2 blokes completely carried the team. if they weren't there...perhaps the Roos may not be playing tomorrow, perhaps.
I disagree with the 'smart investing/not buying a flag' view. An investment would be to pay the guys, watch them help grow the club (including winning flags) for a few years. If you LOSE player BECAUSE of this, it's erring more on having bought a flag, especially if their probably already healthy wage goes up.
But in the sort term, if I was a Roos fan I wouldn't be swapping this season for quids.
But the heart of Uris will get them over the line. Uris will win.

Uri's for mine. Too many omens. Alby's only previous loss in a final was to Uri's. Uri do play well in big finals. Bigger bodies and seem primed. They where damn good last week. Go Hahndorf in the 17's - One for Shane Mohor.

hi all
very dissapointed not to see the RAIDERS being represented at all in tomorrows grand finals. made sure not to book any important business trips for this weekend earlier in the year because I had high hopes of the mighty BRFC making the big dance in all four grades.
will still be attending the games as i will be taking notes on danger players / game styles that i will forward on to our new coach for next season.
also am still on the edge of my proverbial seat re the appointment of our new a grade mentor down at towers road.
any one who wants to come over and say gday i should be over on the far wing (von doussa street side). i will be the one with the binoculars and notepad, writing vigorously...
for what its worth my tips
mount barker
mount lofty
blackwood
hahndorf

RAIDERS till I DIE!!!

I am from the SFL so forgive my ignorance but I hear that Uraidla is coached by an ex SANFL player - is he any good - yes he got them to a GF but that has been fluked before.

I also hear from sources close to the Lofty coach that he can standa this Uraidla guy - bad blood there?

Mister Footy, the name of the coach of Uraidla is Scott Sutherland can't tell you much about him but I can say Uraidla is the best side I have seen in the HFL this year and given a fine day and firm track in my opinion should win the flag. If that happens it would be hard to say he can't coach.

Sutherland played his early junior footy at Mannum, then played some junior footy at Sturt where he progressed to their League side. He transferred to North and played there for several seasons before going to Uraidla. Has had at least one quite serious knee injury over the years. Im not sure how many flags he's coached, there was one i think a couple of years ago, that may be the only one.
