Finally McLaren have some good news, a gun signing from the SFL. Didnt even have to chase him. He just fell on their doorstep.

State country player last year, Adam Rigg also off to McLaren, both A Grade premiership players at the Emus.

Of the boys you mentioned wow, most will be at goolwa this year as well as the likes of kilsby and conigrave who return. Vick despite the year in year out rumours will be at cove and one of the others mentioned will be at victor for what o suggest would be superior money (and the fact they may have initially considered him as 0 points) Campbell has left south and has moved to pt Lincoln where he will play at tasmans with 2 former goolwa boys. For any other goolwa info the creek boys can fill you in after round 1

Griffo hasn't gone there has he?

the two lads i think LF is talking about are Hayden McKinlay and Ross Campbell. both now have been living in Pt. Lincoln for a couple of years

I reckon you should worry more about EB and how much they are paying certain players to play in between their Glenelg commitments, fairly obvious Zac is a paid player but one thing he does not do is dictate to the club what games he can and cannot play (Real good commitment to the EBFC)

I only saw him play 3 times too. Obviously his goal kicking ability is excellent as the stats show. He only had one really good day on the scoreboard against the other top 5 sides when he kicked 8 (out of 23) against us (VH) in the first round. The other 2 times Tarquin Brown stood him and he only kicked 1 on both occasions.

Breakdown the stats:

Kicked 100 in 20 games: 5.0 goals per game.
Against the bottom 5:
Goolwa 7,11
Compass 9,4
Bays 5,8
Mclaren 3,7
Pongy 1,9

64 goals at 6.4 per game

Against the top 5:
Victor 8,1,1
Willunga 4,4,2
Strath 4,3
Creek 4,5

36 goals at 3.6 per game

So yes he is a good full forward, but he got plenty of supply from a very good side against some ordinary competition in there too though. I find it hard to classify a full-forward as a game-breaker.

Field of dreams, great info and break down. Would love to see the same for Dale Ellis on his return from the six games he played. from my mail he still kicked 50 or something but almost nothing against quality sides. If true then this mixed with his suspect shoulder makes picking him uo a waste of time. Lucky for TV that they'll have no problems calling a spade a spade if he doesnt deliver.

Let me start here by stating one huge fact - I couldn't care if you agree or disagree with my opinion or not. If it's a fact I am posting then I am more than happy to be humbled enough to be set straight.

GWW your talk of hodgy moving on is clearly your attempt to start some back and forth.

In my opinion, EB are in trouble come 2011 - unfortunately it will be another case of too much left to too few and the locals again seeking inspiration from imports in order to play finals.

I think Victor may go a step further and good on pongy for being open and active! Whats the word if any on yank? Goolwa may strugle again but like LF said, expect atleast a tough hit out.

It's early days boys to be predicting success or the demise of individual clubs. No one can honestly sit there and say they have full knowledge of each and every clubs ins, outs and training methods. The obvious thing is that the bottom 5 from last year need to do something special to make an impact

With you there LF. I think the bottom 5 clubs are busting their guts to recruit but unfortunately it's a tough gig. Splashing the cash isn't always the answer but sometimes you need to attract one to bring others and we saw that work with Yank last year. I'm not saying that they spent a heap (beacause I have no idea what they spent) but they obviously did spend a little that made their club attractive to new players and it worked to a certain extent. It was good to see Yank play finals again and hopefully the bottom 5 will catch up soon. You cannot produce an instant fix in one season. I think the comp can only get stronger over the next few years and unfortunately someone has to miss out on finals. Teams can't dominate forever (I hope) and a new era shall begin.
