Amazing how MP seem to find employment for players
late in the season :)
When are you putting the boots back on?
I saw you on Sat.

Whats employment got to do with it??
If its after 30th June you cant transfer.
Another one of those rules that the league let MPFC break...one set of rules for them..one set of rules for everyone else

9. Clearance – Cannot Be Refused
9.2 Bona Fide Change of Residence
after 30 June A player of a Club of an Affiliated League who has no financial indebtedness or
contractual obligation to the Club with which he is registered has been made a bona
fide change of residence after June 30th in any year and who desires to play football
with a Club of another Affiliated League, may apply for and must be granted a
Clearance to play with the latter Club provided that the change of residence of the
player is substantial and must be validated, and such Clearance is completed in time
to permit him to play the required number of matches prescribed in the Constitution of
the Affiliated League to which he desires to transfer, so as to qualify him to play in the
Final Series of matches in that Affiliated League.

Thanks Tangles... :D

Can you post the part of the constitution that says the clubs must ignore their duty of care to follow the directions of the League? 8)

Let me guess the new "bona fide" residential address is Tobruk Tce
Welcome back to Port Lincoln Malcolm Miller :)
That rule is a joke and has been abused for years by one club in particular
I remember years ago Milky came back and played in a B grade grand final.
Last nights meeting was a warm and welcoming event in fact it was so warm
that my glass of water was boiling!
The upshot was that a motion to withdraw the requirement of BFC to front the Commissioners
tonight was defeated. Waybacks and Marble Range joined with Mallee Park.
the vote was three all with the Chairman having the unenviable task of casting
the deciding vote.
MP sent in a letter asking that they be compensated to the Tune of $3000 (approx)
for the no show of Bostons
and asking that all other teams have a bye against Bostons to even up the round
and the fact that all their players missed out on the opportunity to receive votes.

all well if your Mallee Park, when you have politics on your side.

$3000 what's that for 10 stubbies and 1000 pie and pasties i think not

i'm amazed how quick the other clubs got in to bed with MP over this yet couldn't give us the time of day when we required their support, guess every dog has it's day

Who do these blokes think they are?! If they had ANY awareness of how they are viewed as a club, this question wouldn't have entered their tiny minds. As a club, wouldn't you step into the room of mirrors to determine WHY a WHOLE footy club refused to front up against you?! The nerve.

I back our clubs decision together with Marble Range - we were not there that day. Why should we decide the fate of Bostons. It is entirely a league matter.

I am an older bloke and again I have no sympathy for Bostons - Bostons were the dirtiest (on and off the ball) team I have ever played against. They have been involved in some of the worst incidents in footy I have ever seen.............. and then they expect everyone to support them.

Again I say short memories - ask any senior people in your club an they will tell you. The rules are the rules and on eclub is not bigger than the league.

Wear the consequences and get on with it!

Plumb, everyone's entitled to an opinion, so good on you for putting yours up, knowing it is in the minority on this site.

I'm too young to know of Bostons infamous "thug life" periods I've heard of, but perhaps I could ask the older posters on this site: Was Bostons 1980's antics comparable with Footbrawl?

The Executive concerned was put into a very difficult situation last night and he was correct
in offering his resignation. I for one believe that he is doing his absolute best plus we dont want
everyone pulling the pin at the league :)
As for what Bostons have done in the past I am only to well aware Reggie and Springs
managed to discourage my footy for two seasons. However the last thing we want is to see our league
down to five teams, what we need is six competitive teams all playing by the rules with no physical assaults,
or threats and one that encourages our juniors. Certainly not the BS that is going on at the moment

that's fine your point on the past is noted, it's been flogged to death.

Do you think we all are proud of of the thugery that went on and it doesn't effect us when you label all BFC supportors as one? I am one of those senior people in the club and I thought our efforts in changing our club over the past four years we had finally turned a corner, well i know we have and i'm sorry you can't see that i guess we just to have to try harder. Must be great to have the perfect club without no bad history or issues.

As far as a new tribunal; system I'm not sure the SANFL are a good example

from yesterdays tiser

THE four players who fronted the SANFL tribunal tonight are free to play in round 18.

Norwood's Sam Rowe and Central District's Chris Gowans were cited by video review and charged with striking each other, following an altercation after the final siren at Hamra Homes Oval on Saturday.

Gowans pleaded not guilty and was found not guilty while Rowe pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and given a reprimand.

Eagles forward Adam Grocke pleaded not guilty to his charge of forceful front-on contact with South Adelaide's Guy O'Keefe in the second quarter at Woodville Oval on Saturday and was found not guilty.

Sturt's Jace Bode pleaded guilty to striking North Adelaide's Clint Alleway in the second quarter at House Brothers Oval on Saturday, was found guilty and given a reprimand.
Dennis Cometti: "The Magpies ought to be kicking themselves right now, but with their luck, they'd probably miss."

Pretty poor to bring up the past when in that era it was part of the game almost. Rhy-Jones, Muir, Salisbury, Crackers Keenan, Carl Deitrich etc etc, Christ they used to bring out videos on the biff alone. Footy brawls or something like that.

Times have changed and the BFC has changed with them.

You might bring up the Chunky incident as not being long ago but I could mention one in a W v MR B grade game not long ago as well. I won't, because I enjoy a beer with the W person involved and know it was out of character but all the same it happened.

MP have not changed, nor will they.

Next point... If TFC felt as strongly as they did about their motion last night, and two other clubs backed them straight away, doesn't that demonstrate to the "President" that he's made the wrong call?
