Good to see your cutting the dead wood!

If Hams retires GA, is there any chance of Nev Clarke returning now that he can fit (literally) into the Fwd 50?

Not sure if you've seen Nev lately WoW but for last the last couple of seasons the Dudley United Football Club have been painting their 50m arc by tracing around the big fella's waist. Would he fit in the forward 50? He would be the forward 50.

Yea info comming out of KI would seem there is a possibility the big fella may be looking to fill hammsys role if he doesnt return next season!!! He would fill the whole 50m arc taking some of the pressure off big Thommos hamstring which dont seem to be able to get him round the park like they used to. There has also been some interest from Brighton with big Sammy in charge down there now!!!

There was also talk on KI of the great Thomas heading back for Wisangers big 100 year season to see if he can get them only their second flag in 25 years!!!

Thommo's hamstrings are made of tissue paper and Jake Standfield and Tommy Williamson will make him redundant at Demonland next year anyway so Wisanger could be a chance.

So Brighton are talking to Clark?? Are the bombers after a launch pad for Trev Rigney? Well I guess that rules out Willunga. The soy lattes and scones on Jetty Road would surely be too good to refuse.

Have been told by a friend, so I take it with a pinch of salt, that Zac Ewer has made up his mind and won't be in the GSFL next year. Unlucky for Goolwa. Also that Langhornes have picked up more ex-Glenelg players. God they spend some coin for no return!

He was at the meet the coach day on Sunday and also provided us with a name of a potential recruit last night, so if he is not playing he is being bloody nice about it.

How are they looking for points?

Finished 5th so get 13 points (+2 for all teams if the rumours are correct)

From last year:

Feast 3->2
Sandercock 3->2
B Moore 2->1
McGregor 3->2
Sherwood 3->2
Basir 3->2

if all going on this year(?) that is 11. Who else have they gained?

I'm not sure that overloading on points (ie carrying more than you can play) is that wise really. Ok if the colts you play are really up to it. I note in round 18 last year Creek played 14 points (Basir didnt play) and played colts to bring it down to their maximum 11 -they did get over Willunga that day though.

Word on the street is that Gordy Boy is on the way out. A few clubs are tiring of his militant and bombastic reign coupled with his over inflated view on his position in life and they have put it to the board members to do something about it or the clubs will.

Can't wait

Would think Clarke will be no chance to return to KI next year. With all the recent press of KI with oprahs gang heading over and the numbers visiting the island likely to increase id be unsure if sealink would be able to accomodate his monthly personally chartered trips like they did last year

Did get some word that a junior Thomas has been spotted running around the Morphett Road vacinity and could feature in a demon jumper in the junior ranks. Could be a smart move to get son of me offs signature

I've heard from a reliable source that:

- S Claus is looking for something to do mid year and is a cup of hot chocolate away from signing with the Creek. He's a bit busy to talk turkey at the moment though apparently - should be finalised in the New Year once he gets some down time.

- T Fairy to Goolwa is all but a done deal. His stipulation that all junior grades refrain from wearing mouthguards is a bit of a sticking point in negotiations though.

- H B Bear is looking to transfer to the GSFL from a metro comp. Unfortunately his lack of voice around the ground and his penchant for taking the field sans shorts means suitors aren't exactly queueing up for his services.

I think Gordy has done a great job with the league, a few years ago the GSFL didnt even have a fully functioning website, he has made a number of changes to improve the areas that were severly lackin in terms of promoting the league itself. The GSFL is currently creating a name for itself as one of the best if not the best in SA why change things?

Pretty sure they've picked up Tom Hately aswell (former South and Goody Saints key position player). Add Tommy and Ben Warren to the names above and the Creek are starting to put together an impressive list for 2011.
