Old Moz - Did I see you at the South v Angaston game on the weekend? Heard there was a very generous mystery man making himself known in the crowd. Just thought it might be you, cos you have been to a few Angaston games this year and appear to have no real affiliation with the club.

No punches thrown by Gawler Central, they had bigger and better things to play for. Willaston player was sent off (3rd for the day), but should of had another sent off also.

sounds like any sat nite at the bushman's only minus south gawler

What Mike Teakle knows about footy you could write on a match box.

Brad Taylor from Gawler Centrals for this years medal . Has been a long term quality servant in this league and has played consistant first class football.

Chris Mclean should poll well too i am told.
What i dont know about football isnt worth knowing .

the fact you are relying on having to be told by someone else about Mclean show's you have no idea about this league hafey, media mike often misses the target but at least takes a shot. Since you're the source of all wisdom, let's see your team of the year.

Teakles team doesnt look as though its had much thought process involved! Hughes from Angaston no chance, Baird started i the reserves and has hardly been in the best players. Cragg Sapsford? So that means we have four ruckman in the side (Christie, Howard, Wells and Cragg-Sapsford) Paul Stelzer will not make it and Craig Harvey for the centre position is showing your typical biased for Angaston.
Teakle perhaps have a hard think about your side next time!

Lets see how close we get Teakle...

F: Hahn Kennedy B.Taylor (Kap)
HF: D.Thomas Commane B.Taylor (GC)
C: McLean Newberry Bayliss
HB: M.Underwood Valentine Sharp
B: Gibson Christie Prior
1st Ruck: Wells Schiller M.Stelzer
Int: Leske, Howard, Spencer, Harvey.

Johnstone, Coghill, Niklaus, Wall, C.Underwood Cragg-Sapsford, M.Elson (Tan), Britton and Nicholls would be unlucky

Don Brook,

Can you shed some light on some rumours going around that Willaston have already head hunted 4 players for their 4 import placings they have for next season? And possibly a coach too?

Can you share any info you may have?

Meeting with Chris Ladhams as a coach this week, and are hopefull of Daniel Hargraves. But at but at this stage we need to stop the bleeding from the 2008 season, rather then plan for 2009, Still early, we have only been looking for a coach for a few weeks. then again we have nothing else to do, no side in the finals first time for a long time

Inetersting to see Luke Wells mentioned for the medal. He is probably the only player mentioned that has stuck with his home club since he was a junior and from what I have heard plays for the love of it. It would be good to see a player in this comp that isn't being paid to play and has stuck with his club all his life win the medal.

JD like Bag & Sledge I'm not into your side, Harvey at centre is a joke when there are guys like Newberry, Brad Taylor (GC) and the Stelzers getting around. Mine would look similar to Bag & Sledge's but I really don't know enough about some of the players around to have a real crack and to be fair.

Interesting times at Willaston by the sounds, what will come of the McLeans & Baker boys?

I will be getting Mick's side of the story this weekend as we are catching up for a few schooners at the alberton.

If Mick had time to frequent this board and contribute his experience in SA football and his wealth of knowledge it would prove invaluable.

Skip - I thought that you would be able to show off your knowledge of the BL&G, since you have managed to get around to various games this year. Your astute view on things would be an opportunity for you to dig deeper and form an analysis of the season that was. Keen to see your side!

So do Angaston advertise every year for an A grade coach or has SJ been shown the door?

I highly doubt Johnno would've been happy to go....but I'm expecting the Ango faithful to get on here and say it was a mutual agreement.

No worries then Duke, I'm willing to have a go and I look forward to seeing your side. And perhaps you could clarify the Gimps question about Angaston adertising for a new coach, I must have missed that one in the paper. In your defence some clubs under their constitution have to advertise each year, I'm not too sure whether you guys are coverd by that rule, please clarify.

F Hahn, Kennedy, Thomas
H.F B.Taylor (Kap), Commane, Leske
C Pech, B. Taylor (GC), M. Underwood
H.B Gibson, Christie, P.Stelzer
B Sharp, Valentine, Prior

1st Wells, Newberry, M Stelzer

Int Cragg Sapsford, Schiller, S.Baker or C.McLean

Obviously some very good players to miss out like S.Agars, Bayliss (don't really know him and have not seen him play) and plenty more.

Billy Wells a suggested possibility by me a month ago. I rate him the best player in the comp this season. On top of his ruck work his one percenters and second efforts have paved the way many times for his team mates to get possession or have caused turnovers/stoppages. Interesting that he doesn't feature in the Coaches Award in Barracker or the BP in Football On Line. His physicality probably scares some umps and he seems very vocal so that may cost him as well; plus of course there are a plethora of team mates taking votes off him. On the basis that you probably need 18+ votes to win I think the winner will come from a finalist which suggests either of the Taylors, Scooter, a Stelzer, Alex Kennedy or Newberry. Best chance outside a finalist I think is Chris McLean. As for the team of the year (& coach thereof) I've never been a big fan. The criteria has never been clear and some selections are political. Take this site's argument over who should be in the centre. What does it matter as midfield rotations probably see anything up to ten players in some games spend time in the centre. If you're talking old fashioned centreman of the past the following I suggest would be up to it- Gibbo, Heberle, Aaron Bevis, Harvey, Valentine, Greenwood.
