we did notice you weren't there pres, but don't worry, I paid double entrance fee so we wouldn't miss out on your $7.

If you think its the Ironbank president champ you are clearly mislead and know very little about the Thunderers. And by the way I hope you all pay double entrance fee to make up for the pathetic crowds you get there. Its quite sad to see and once proud and strong club turn into feral litter that you are.

hi sound
as i have stated in another thread the bridgewater football club would be happy to play host for the grand final this year. i have been saying all damn season that our ground has the most character in the comp and i can just imagine packing upwards of 10 thousand in front of the green shed on gf day. we will have fans hanging from the cliffs and packed along the stone wall, river bed and heysen trail like damn sardines!!! in my opinion this fixturing MUST go ahead it is the only logical decision... the only reason i can see as to why the grand final has not been allocated to the FORTRESS earlier is because big O and the boffins down at HFL hq were predicting a late season run from the RAIDERS and didnt want to give them home ground advantage for the Grandy.

I see your point, Vaughan. But would your players want to attend the home GF and therefore forego their end of season trip to Cross Keys Tavern?

Hahndorf best ground to watch a GF. Massive atmosphere created 10 x that of Lobethal.

Great viewing ground too with the cliff. With its new lights don't be surprised if the Hills first ever night final is played there next year.

hi jq
cant speak for the players but i would be there in my usually spot (heysen trail side). the only person heading to The Cross Keys in a hurry will be you on your honeymoon you vile piece of bacteria. your smug attitude all season has disgusted me but congratulations on your side limping into the finals.

Don't be surprised if the Big O gives the Central GF to a Country Div Club, with most of the Central Ovals looking like mud pits. With more inclement weather coming, don't be surprised if the Main Event is played somewhere different this year.

bridgewater Football Oval is one of the worst ovals i have ever seen and thats on a dry day. there is good reason why the HFL would do anything else but have a grand final there. Couldnt see 10,000 packing onto the oval itself let alone around it to watch a game of footy. If i would suggest a good oval to play a grand final on would be perhaps Cornerstone College at least the surface wouldnt be a mud pit.

Can't see any problems with that, if there is a better alternative then use it. I would suggest though that a decision would be made on more criteria than just the conditions of an oval.

Had a phone call during the week from a bottom club that has only won one game in three years and guess what - made the suggestion that perhaps the league are looking at the possibility of changing the constitution that there be 11 teams in central next season. owen I believe does'nt want Birdwood or Loby going down and the HFL was hedging its bets that Ironbank where gonna be crap and coupled with a **** draw etc they would be the ones to go down. Now the HFL have realised that won't be the case they are looking at bending the rules to suit. Watch this space !!!

Pretty sure that the Lobey guy knows who he called earlier in the season as the earlier post shows, Has Been couldn't wait to post it!
Just need people in high places at clubs to keep things a bit closer to their chests and don't give anything away to possible miss informed or problem posters. myself and probably quite a few others would rather be talking about football than club politics on this forum. More positives than negatives would be ideal!

hi fabio
thanking you for chiming in but your suggestion is complete manure!!!
the surface means very little when the there are no damn changerooms or clubrooms for that matter at cornerstone college. can you imagine the competition would become a complete and farcial joke if we have fisher and loffler getting changed in their damn tighty whiteys on the boundary line on grand final day!!! or perhaps you just want both teams to emerge from bushes by the side of the freeway and charge on like some sort of scene from braveheart!!!
for petes sake think before you post this kind of tripe!
also not sure if you have spent much time down at cornerstone but its one of the windiest venues in south australia... the gail force winds that comes whistling in from all directions would play complete mayhem on the skill level not to mention my everlasting hat will probably be blown clean off my damn scone!

Normally windy hill gets chopped to shreds, but must be OK.

Fingers crossed for a dry week this week though.

I am sure your boys would want it dry so they can try to run us off our legs but I am confident the weather will be ordinary all this week and you are in for a tough hard contest at Blackwood Sunday DA. ;)

Well judging by our performance in pretty sloppy conditions against Uri's on Saturday, I'd say we're primed for a tough hard contest against anyone.

We'll have it either way. Doesn't bother the Devs! Heck, why not get the sprinklers onto it!

Hey V,

Need a new coach AGAIN i am hearing? What a magnificent football club!

Couple questions -
When was the last time Bridgwater participated in finals footy?
How many A grade coaches have you had in the last 15 years?

hi speccy
honestly i thought you had squirmed away to the slums of the southern thread for good but i should have known a brainless gutless piece of work like yourself would once again rear his ugly head. you impressed us all so much with your great knowledge of the hfl and your "heroic" tipping earlier in the year... please give me a damn spell!!!
as for your couple of question put a damn cork in it there have been many great names on the coaching honour role at towers road over the last 15 years and i am eagerly await the appointment of our next mentor. we have been slightly starved of finals success in recent years but this should make season 2011 extra memorable.
RAIDERS till I DIE!!!

PS still laugh myself to sleep most nights with your embarrassing round 4 tipping effort.

As previously said, it isn't the IB President on here. Has been's post was garbage because Owen never wanted 11 teams in Central.

On the ovals - if the rain keeps up play it at Milang, if rain not too high play it at Hahndorf should be fine with no footy on it for a month and is a great spot even if not big.
