I've been told Uraidla played a player who has played B grade all season without injury in the C grade semi final against Ironbank. Info suggests the HFL granted the player a 'permit' without looking into the players history (surprise, surprise). The HFL has gone against their own rules (who knows if they even know their own rules) by granting the permit as it states any player to qualify for a final below A grade must play the majority of games for that grade. The HFL are still allowing the permit to stand.

I was told Ironbank aren't pushing the matter but they are very disappointed Uraidla had to cheat to make the Grand Final. I don't think Blackwood will be very happy when they receive the information and I'd suggest they may ask the permit to be revoked preventing the player from playing in the Grand Final this Sunday. From what I'm told the player in question holds the same surname as the Uraidla president. Perhaps the league should be called the Uraidla Football League as the HFL seems to let them do whatever they want.

i think if you had checked your facts you would see that this bloke is only 18 and has played the last 3 c grade games because he cant make the starting B grade side. which then permits him to play C grade. in any case i think ironbank lost because they werent deserving of the victory, move on. dont think this one lad was the difference between the 2 sides.

I think you'll find the bloke who followed this up is completely thorough. I'm told the player in question did in fact make the starting B grade side as well as play C grade on the same weekend. Check the rules yourself, this does not permit him to play C grade. I agree the one player might not have made the difference but I guess we'll never know. Very shonky from Uraidla's point of view.

You will find that this permit has now been revoked for the Grand Final. I can't complain about Uraidla applying for the permit as it was done through the right channels, but why the hell was it approved by the HFL in the first place. It took an outsider from the HFL to pick them up on it and now they've revoked it. Surely you would check the playing history of a player before you issue a permit. I'd like to think the board member in question is embarassed.

So let me understand this. The player is allowed to play against Ironbank in the semi final but now the HFL will apply the rules so he can't play in the Grand Final. Gee... I hope this doesn't happen at A or B grade level, all hell will break loose.

As far as im concerned this is bull shi,t Ironbank on the weekend had a bloke (wont name names but you can look on sporting pulse) who has played 5 A grade games 2 B grade games and 1 C grade game prior to the semi Final If every one here is gonna have a go at a 18 year old who has playedmainly B/C grade for the year for getting a permit for the C grade final, why should this Ironbank player who has played mainly A grade get one as well? Quit your bloody whinging.

Stick to facts before you post garbage. The Ironbank player suffered a serious elbow injury and is not the player he was at the start of the season - he was not even picked in Bs as he wasn't up to it in the two games he returned in for them. As I said, I don't blame Uraidla for requesting a permit but these should not be issued unless injury plays a part. Why would the permit have been revoked if it was correctly issued in the first place? Unlikely this would happen at the higher levels but you would like to think that the issuing of permits was as important in each and every grade.

This is ridiculous, the Uraidla player in question should not be forced into not playing any footy at all at this end of the season just because he cannot make the B grade side at this crucial stage of the season. He is a young player who has been given a chance in the Bs for a bit of the season to allow him to improve as a player, but has also been playing in the Cs as he is only just scraping into the B grade side. This lad should be allowed a permit to play in the GF because otherwise he will most likely not get another footy game for the rest of the season, as he obviously is not quite good enough at this stage to make the improving Uraidla Bs.

Agreed. It makes sense, which is why it probably won't happen that way unfortunately for the lad.

Get your facts right first lads beforing sounding off. He's played almost every single B grade game and is more than capable of holding his spot. He played the last 3 C grade games as well as playing Bs on the same weekend. He was never injured in any capacity so he cannot be granted a permit. Rules are rules, I suggest Uraidla gets a copy of them before the A & B grade finals start. I'm sure Ironbank could push for Uraidla to be disqualified from the Grand Final but I don't think its the way they want to go about making the big game. You can probably put your Uraidla violins down lads, you are in the GF and good luck to you.

No IB couldn't and nor do we want to. The Cs have been outplayed by Uraidla and don't deserve to be in there.

Send one to the Devils as well, just in case.
How are permits granted? It's my understanding that Andrew Moulds got a Permit to play in last years B grade final series, even though he played all 18 A Grade games through the year!! Although they didn't require it (both teams went thru to GF), who woul grant it??
We want Vaughn.

Unfortunately my permit was rejected. The HFL said they did not want to see the standard of the league brought down to my level.

This is correct spear head. Last year the Uraidla A grade peaked just before finals pushing moulds from the team and so rightly he was able to play in the B's as the A's were still in the finals also. Surely it should be common sense that players like this should be granted permits if both the As and Bs are in the finals, and even if the higher teams is knocked out the player should be able to continue playing in the lower grade thoughout the finals series as they clearly are not in the strongest A grade side.

before you hear it anywhere else i am on here to regretabley inform you of an incident that occured in the early hours of this morning.
shortly before 5am (i got up there a bit earlier just in case i missed anyone) i was set upon by 4 officers out the front of the coles supermarket in bridgewater. i put up a damn good fight but was eventually taken in to custodys arms and locked up and have spent the last hours in the mount barker police cells.
apparently i had been caught on security footage acting "suspiciously" out the front of the building at 5am for the last three days and was taken in by the damn jacks on the grounds of attempted criminal tresspass!!! one thing that did not help my cause was that i had pulled my black piping hot beanie down over my face to supply me with extra warmth and they thought it was a burglar attempting to shield his damn identity. the officers saw my bloodied knuckles from my recent door knocking blitz and thought i was some kind of street tough!!! tragicly the signatures i had collected over the past week were lost in the ensuing scuffle which has thrown my petition into complete jeopardy!
while in the cells the events of the past week finally sunk in and i just completely lost it and was franticly clinging to the bars like some kind of crazed primate because i thought i wouldnt be able to get out in time to do my tips!

i have since been released free of charge.
tips for this week
blackwood vs lobethal - blackwood to inflict more pain on the tiges
hahndorf vs mount lofty - the goats by 5 goals
ironbank vs bridgewater - the RAIDERS by 5 goals to smother the thunderers finals dreams!
mount barker vs okaparinga valley - barker to continue on their merry ways!
uraidla districts vs birdwood - cabbage by 15 goals.

cant wait to get out to cherry gardens and see the boys pull off a famous win for lynchy.

V, it would appear from the ramblings you have posted above that the recent spate of losses by your beloved Raiders has had a detrimental effect on the state your mental health. It is very sad when this happens, all I can offer you is my profound sympathy, maybe a good rest in a convalescence facility will bring you back to your normal state. Good luck, may your health improve rapidly.
