Recon you just said what all the players are thinking a2m! Spoke to a few of the lads and they are dumbfounded! The past 2 years have seen some good recruits stick around and who knows what might have happened next year!

Does the club really know what it wants and were the expectations from them unrealistic? Who knows, but one things for sure they haven't done themselves any favours when it comes to recruiting or retaining players for next year. Honestly thought they would keep Lynch around as he seemed to have a good rapport with the players and supporters.

The players i've spoken to said they all wanted him to stay! but it doesn't matter now anyway, hopefully he can get the boys up in the last two games for a couple of wins! Think most football followers know he's done a descent job and can hold his head up.

TIS - how do you justify Lynchy doing a decent job?

He hasn't improved the win/loss ratio from last year. All recruits from last year (except DeVries) were retained plus the list was added to with at least 5 extra recruits.

The losses havent been by nearly as much as last year (except the uraidla game :( ), and we have played much better footy this year. Last year we lost to blackwood by something like 40 goals, nearly beat them on the weekend. We beat the goats and won the Cutting Cup, which we havent come close to for years. It has been an improvement even if the win-loss ratio hasnt changed. Plus 3 or 4 of those recruits were brought up by Lynchy i think. He is popular with the playing group which is important.

Has played at Mt Barker for at least the last 3 years, but I am think he has been there even longer than that. Probably a different bloke.

Nah it's definitely the same Marston. I think he spent his first year back at Flaggies after having a few off. You never saw him without a burger in hand back then. He's always had the talent, and now that he's shed a few kenny cunningham's and is playing for a dominant side he's pretty handy.

Spot on there SF! I'm not in the playing group so i can only give you what i've spoken to players about. You also have to look at the players that have missed big chunks of the season. Charles, when fit, one of the best big men going round. He's only played 4 or 5 games due to a broken foot. Malinovski, barlow, Turner and Fosdike would only have played a handful of games. They loose Healy to nortrh and Big Mitch (who's last name is the alphabet) played one game all year because of illness. If these players were able to play the majority of the year it would be a different story. Lynchy has done well to get the boys playing really competetive footy and the players have seen the improvement from within. This ios why they aren't happy!
But, there maybe an underlying story, so i'm told! More to follow.

Whatever the reasons for Lynchy being removed, why do we want to play it out on this forum ?

I don't believe there is an underlying story, but even if there is, deal with it internally.

It is getting asked about on for the reasons above, people want to know why you guys sacked a coach when it seems the players are happy and you look to be improving...

yawn...finding all this bridgewater talk a little boring. none of us know the reasons why Lynch wasn't reappointed so at best any talk is just going to be speculation.

on another topic, anyone else heard anything about the possible move of one or two of Birdwood's better players to Onkas in the off-season ??

speculation is good enough for me.

I reckon it's because he shagged vaughn's missus.

A source has advised me the HFL was in a spin this morning when it was identified a club has cheated the system to make the C grade Grand Final (I know its only C grade but its still footy). I've been told Uraidla played a player who has played B grade all season without injury in the C grade semi final against Ironbank. Info suggests the HFL granted the player a 'permit' without looking into the players history (surprise, surprise). The HFL has gone against their own rules (who knows if they even know their own rules) by granting the permit as it states any player to qualify for a final below A grade must play the majority of games for that grade. The HFL are still allowing the permit to stand.

I was told Ironbank aren't pushing the matter but they are very disappointed Uraidla had to cheat to make the Grand Final. I don't think Blackwood will be very happy when they receive the information and I'd suggest they may ask the permit to be revoked preventing the player from playing in the Grand Final this Sunday. From what I'm told the player in question holds the same surname as the Uraidla president. Perhaps the league should be called the Uraidla Football League as the HFL seems to let them do whatever they want.

hi gang
sorry for my absence for the past few days but the goings on of the past week have rocked me and the town of bridgewater to the very core and have left me as an emotional and damn near unstable mess.
i wont go into details but will admit when news of lynchs termination reached my door last thursday night I completely lost it and through my phone clean through a plate glass window. when my son came in and told me to put my emotions back in I just snapped and regrettably told him to put a cork in it. I have since apologised.
things go blank after that for the next 10 hours or so but I was found later that night in my hilux (with the central locking on) in a numb lifeless heap and was nursed back to conciousness by my wife using a damp hanky.
i have since taken compassionate leave from my business and for the last 4 days I have been feverishly door knocking around the bridgewater/verdun region with a petition to have lynch reinstated. my knuckles are brusied and bloodied down to the bone but the response has been overwhelming with 20+ signatures collected. for anyone else willing to put their support forward I will be up at coles from 5am onwards for the next 3 days. I will be the man in the black piping hot beanie / or black everlasting cap (depending on the weather). I will be holding a clipboard.
I will not say a bad word about schneemilch and the boffins down at towers road but they have made what appears to be a controversial decision which reminds so much of the cruel dog eats dog business world in which I have so famously excelled. the club must stay strong and continue to keep on fighting because I will admit the weekends display against blackwood was the stuff of legend.
to finish out the season despite the circumstances is a credit to lynchys character and the man has a heart bigger than the green shed itself. In my mind he will go down in RAIDERS folklore with names such as henry feijen, shayne mcdonald and julian snowden as the man who famously wrestled back the cutting cup to its rightful home. I just hope he doesn’t get poached by a rival hfl side because that will be the ultimate kick in the damn pants.
we still have the capacity to shape the 5 and the boys need to play out the year.
One thing I will say is focus must now turn to retaining recruits and getting some damn signatures on the dotted line.

RAIDERS till THE BITTER END!!!

i think if you had checked your facts you would see that this bloke is only 18 and has played the last 3 c grade games because he cant make the starting B grade side. which then permits him to play C grade. in any case i think ironbank lost because they werent deserving of the victory, move on. dont think this one lad was the difference between the 2 sides.
