Great weekend of games, some great contests. Mt Lofty getting up in A's and B's, do they have to win the flag for someone to pick them to win!
Next weekends prelims
A grade: Onkas vs Uraidla
B grade: Mt Barker vs Blackwood (Brad Smith playing in that side)
17s: Mt Lofty vs Ironbank
14s: Hahndorf vs Ironbank

Special K you need to get ur facts right mate Benny G never hit Paul Richards they were having a tussle and because 'Flash' was giving him an absolute bath Richards hit him in the head. Uncalled for as they were team mates in interleague and soutern districts. He didnt try hitting much in the forth quarter cos he was spoken to and he was getting killed!!

Good game, anticipate watching another good one in two weeks time.

How were the bloody umpires tho - owen sort it out!! At least be consistent to both sides

Well at least the umpires were consistently bad, both the Devils and the Demons had some lucky descisions.

Sorry, Che. Totally disagree. I saw one of the most poorly-officiated games out at Balhannah. The game itself wasn't bad, good and close til the 4th. The umpires were a dead-set disgrace. It was not consistently bad both ways. Chubby with the mo' didn't leave the centre square, so buggered if I know why he needed 2 sweat bands. He didn't run except when handing out 25's.
Lofty's run was way too decisive and Onkas seemed to have roughed up a couple of Uri lads the week before, as it seemed apparent Thomas was not 100% from the first bounce, it'll be interesting to see if he'll front against Onkas.
I didn't see Gordon hit Puckers at all. But he gave him a dead-set bath.

The umpires on saturday at Onkas were disgraceful. Seven goals to Uraidla were a result from free kicks. 45 to 13 was the final count. Lofty would have pumped them if it wasn't for them. They are both under 17 umpires who where overwhelmed by the crowd. Brown kicked 5 and 3 of them where from terrible decisions.

I thought you'd learned your lesson Special k!

I've said it twice now, the reason I don't comment on other teams is because I don't want to comment on things I know nothing about. You should take this on board idiot! Flash Benny G NEVER hit Pucker. Pucker whacked Benny fair in the side of the head becasue he was getting a bath.

I rate Pucker, but this was pretty ordinary. I thought he was better than that.

I don't usually comment on unpires (because I am one!), but the display at Balhanna on Saturday was like a bad comedy routine. 45 - 13 is a joke, but nobody from Mt Lofty is laughing. Who cares though, we'll win the GF in both grades regardless of the free kick count.

And to those dicks who do the tipping in the budget each week - keep tipping against us you drongo's, we love proving you wrong!

Go Devils U17's in the Prelim this week. We've beaten Ironbank already this year, and those peanuts who graffitied our club with their Ironbank rule wank will be shaking in their boots!!!!

Just quietly, onkas got up by a goal or two. Have heard that blackwood had 4.2 on the board before onkas even registered a score.

Evidently Brad Smith and Bensch played B's, but not sure if they will be able to play next week as there A's are out. Unsure of the rues of permits though. Regardless of this i cant see them beating Mt Barker next week.

Have been told that someone overheard the umpires asking the president of their performance after the saturday A's game, and in response he stated that it was absolutely appauling. Maybe it might be an idea to get neutral umpires rather than one from Uraidla!

forum,

Onkas beat Blackwood by 50 points. Blackwood came out and was leading in the first quarter. Looked like they were going to take it up to onkas but the class and skill of onkas showed by thge end of the day. Uri v Onkas in a cracker of a preliminary next week. Will be interesting to see if Onkas can overcome the obvious stranglehold uri's have over onkas.

My bit on the umpires, fair call that the umpiring was absolutely woeful, But in all my years following hills footy, there have only been a few umpires that seem to umpire it fairly. So we should all be used to it by now. I don't think Uraidla would have got pumped if the umpiring was better. it still would've been close. Cos it was a tough final that was played in good spirit except for the rickards gordon incident by the sounds. Either way knowing pucka, I am sure it wasn't a dirty thing and they probably had a joke about it after the game.

Back to the disgraceful umps, we all at least know that the two best (fair) umpires will make the GF and therefore will make for a great grand final who ever plays lofty. Can't wait to watch the last remaining games!

Congrats to Kersbrook for making the GF against Kangarilla! Should be a cracker of a game also although Kersbrook will be massive underdogs leading into it!
How good is footy!

Jeez, imagine if the Woods progressed.
I reckon Onkas and Uraidla will LIMP into next weekend, I know both were a bit sore from their last encounter.
Smith 'dropped' to B's...how timely!
I sincerely hope the President did make the umpires aware of their efforts, as it seemed at times some Uraidla players weren't aware why they had a free kick!
Anyone know where next weeknds Central game will be played?
And well done to kersbrook, after the Doggies went out in straight sets I would've honestly thought that a TV/Kangarilla GF was on the cards...

The Preliminary Final is to be played at Hahndorf.
Great effort from Kersbrook to make the GF well done.

Guess we all know how it feels to be a bottom team in the league and get absolutely slaughtered by the umpires week in week out. The standard of umpring has always been poor. Often you'll have one umpire paying everything and one not paying a thing which results in a very inconsistent game.

Devils Advocate. Were those peanuts from Ironbank? Who would write that on an opposition bcos it would clearly implicate their own club. Unless they really are peanuts. But yeh apologies if it was someone from Ironbank but the boys in that team are very level headed. Anyways you would say Ironbank in both junior grades go in as favourites.

Uri's to start favourtie in A's and Barker V Blackwood game could go either way. Surely Smith would not get a permit to play b's. Would have been hsi only game for em this year??

Winger - a graffiti attack occurred on the driveway surrounding the oval at Heathfield on the Saturday night/Sunday morning after the Lofty v Ironbank game at Ironbank earlier in the year. It reads something like "Lofty Sux Ironbank rule". I'm not having a go at your club, just the few perpetrators behind this stupidity, which I am led to believe came from the U17 group.

This wasn't quite as stupid as Bridgewaters effort of graffitying their own ground the night before we played them. They wrote all sorts of obscenities directed at the Devils on the wall surrounding their pit. I wasn't surprised though - I've come to expect that sort of crap from the Shantys over the years!

I agree that Ironbank will go into the U17 game favourites. The Devils are very happy with the underdog tag. Should be a good game with plenty of fireworks like last time they met.

Uri's should win easily in the A's, and I think Barker will be too good for Blackwood in the B's. I've heard Brad Smith or Craig Bensch won't get a permit to play for Blackwoods B's.

Yeah I think the matches of the day will be in the under 17's and B grade. Uri will smash Onkas in A's and same with Ironbank giving Hahndorf a belting. Devils always seem to come out with players from no where in the under 17's, they are making the difference. But i think Ironbank are a closer team and this will win them the game. Barker should win B grade if Smith and Bensch arent playing.

Devils U17's have had the same team all year. We don't have any college or Sturt boys this year.

I reckon Barker would win even if Smith and Bensch played.
