Have you heard anything along these lines DW

I knew they were looking elsewhere.
At one point they were talking about Adelaide Plains too.
If it occurs, the Riverland Independent teams could be doing some BIGGG travel next season as Morgan and BSR will have nowhere else to go you'd think.

its not that far, Swan Reach is only about 70 odd kms from Wunkar, and prob not more than 50 kms from East Murray.

It's still far enough. That's an hour and a half from Paringa. An hour or so from Loxton.
Add that to the trip to East Murray and that's a fair bit of extra travel. Especially with petrol prices the way they are.

I also heard a whisper that Sedan/Cambrai have approached the league to try and join for season 2009, and that this has been welcomed by the league!!! Stay tuned...

Must be a shortage on coaches when u look at the calibre in the BLG. No wonder they are welcoming Sedan/Cambrai with open arms. I hear they have a orange peeler turned coach.

Hafey thats a bit rough suggesting that the general standard of coaches in this league are below par. Sedan Cambrai would have to put forward an amazing proposal to be let in and I would think it have to include a merger with BSR, even then I think it won't get over the line. JD good win for your boys I see, it actaully puts you guys up to 5th spot. I would imagine around the league there would be some very hung over lads looking to carry over into Monday.

yes skipper , ill stand by my comments regarding the current coaches in the BL&G. The unfortunate clubs are South Gawler , Willaston , Barossa Districts , Gawler Centrals and Angaston.

Not one of them could coach a creeper up a wall.

Skipper don't get sucked in to responding to Hafey, Previous post tells all about that man's football knowledge,
The Facts are, Gawler Centrals finish third at the end of the minor round, the improvement in this young side and the style of game the tigers play Mark Brant has done a great job, would not be a easy role with the ex pres. still standing in the stands, maybe this is Hafey who knows,
The same story at the panthers Johno got the best out of his list and they seemed to loss there way mid season with the teams younger smaller bodies on the heavier ground but started from a long way behind on 2007 results, to finish 5th vast improvement.

As for Nelson at the bulldogs, the unknown, the rookie coach
had 12 players how played in last year GF play against Freeling yesterday whilst Freeling had 14, win by 96pts and finished 2nd on the ladder at the end of the H&A season, continued were O,Connor
left off, well done

The one I find can't figure, South Gawler, Herzick, Good recruiting, a few good kids, however that
core of group of unachivers have remained, and continue to drag that club down. year after year
big promises, zero deliveries. Herzick two more years, wired

Scott Leal to meet with willaston this week

My BLG team of the year

Hahn Kennedy Thomas
Schiller Commane Bayliss
Bain M Stelzer McLean
Sharp Christie Gibson
Prior Valentine P Stelzer

Rucks
Cragg-S'ford, Newberry, Bevis
Int.
Gibson, Wells, Baird

Thanks for that Brad Man, I tend to agree with you. GC's coach Brant has done an excellant job and looks as though they maybe the smoky in the finals. What Hafey forgets is that a senior coaching gig is a club coaching gig, the senior coach should be there for all levels and not just be soley judge on the top sides performance but the whole club, for instance do the junior parents know the coach, does the senior coach know the best players in the 15, 17 & reserves. I have gone on about this before. I have no time for a coach that is soley there to represent the A grade side and does not care about the sides below. I know nothing about Nelson but he seems to be a good family man and I would think that this would reflect on his ability to coach the club.

Some interesting times ahead with a few clubs already advertising in the paper. One question is whether Bomber Prouse will continue on at Bomber land or take up one of the offers at Freeling or Nuri. I have previously thought he would stay at Bomber land but some are suggesting there maybe a move (personally I hope not).

I have enjoyed chatting but am not willing to put myself in a situation as what has allegedly occured, I certainly hope that the truth comes out about what I have allegedly done. I have been open and honest in this forum even to the point of saying who I am, so where this has come from I am unsure. If I have said something that is out of line I certainly can't remember it, and as a matter of fact I have printed off everything I have written on this forum and can't not find the alleged comments. As a person I speak what I think and feel, yes I may be slightly biased towards Tanunda at times but am willing to see others point of view and agree with what is written at times, some may not agree and get upset. If you have been upset and hurt by what I have said I am sorry for that. I wish you all well in your finals campaign. To the Angaston Football Community I wish you well in the future years and again apologise if what I have said has been hurtful to your club in any way. Something like this has also confimed it is time to get out of club football administration of which I will be doing at seasons end, to those that I have had good dealings with in the past I hope this does not end some enjoyable assocaitions, cheers and catch you soon. Bye Sven

when something like this happens, just because someone put up an opinion in a public forum, diminishes the whole point of having a forum where a person can put their point of view. if they are wrong beat them with facts, not personal attacks. i have disagreed with some of the stuff Blockie has put on here but i have also enjoyed his imput to this forum [& his verbals with JD ]. if he his getting out of football because of his opinions on here that is sad because footy cannot lose people who care enough that they actually get involved in the running of clubs. i don't know Blockie from a bar of soap but hope he reconsiders both descisions

I will have a look at it Brad Man, probably will be similar to your side. As for the medal Ben Newberry, Brad Taylor (GC), Brad Valentine. They are just some guess's but there are some fantastic players in this league so it could be a bit of a lottery this year and I have not seen all sides play.

Well said Old Moz, totally agree with everything you said. I also don't Blockie from a bar of soap but I enjoy bouncing off him and his out there ideas. He probably took the heat for some of the things I said.

Interesting to hear that Willaston's coaches tactics at three quarter time were to target individuals from Gawler Central.
Strange tactics coming from the 2007 BLG coach of the year.
Apparently he was believed to have said that he didnt care if you give away a free kick just dont want him walking off the ground at the end of the game.
From what i hear Willaston were punch tackling all day, throwing their elbows around and had three guys yellow carded. Umpires these days i think are a little soft in their approach to not reporting players, punches and haymakers to the head as someone goes to kick the ball are not worth a yellow card they are worth a red card and report.
Disgrace from a club that is struggling as it is, not a good example the coach sets from a start.

my contact didnt say, but all i heard was that he was off with the blood rule and received stitches anyway. There was a big melee before 3 Quarter time. No punches thrown by Gawler Central, they had bigger and better things to play for. Willaston player was sent off (3rd for the day), but should of had another sent off also.

Was at willaston oval saturday and Frackowski had three stiches to a cut ear, the incident was about 30m from the ball, wasn't good. I was also on the ground at 3/4 time, not good either. time for all donnies to regroup and
rebuild this once proud club

Tip for the medal
Chris Mclean, Matt Stelzer tie
Craig Harvey third

Nelson to be named coach of the year. Had many changes over summer but keep them in flag contention
