How does the C grade finals work this year? Just the top 2 play off in the Grand Final again?

I don't think you need Birdwood to beat Hahndorf to claim your bet.

1. Birdwood A grade is starting to really play as a unit. The way we threw the ball around and worked for each other was the best i've seen in 4 years.
2. Chris Shee is one of the most important players in the HFL. His workrate and strength is incredible and i'd put him up agaist Nunan as the best couple of players in the HFL.

Yes I agree a very important player to Onka’s but perhaps easier to shut out than Nunan.
Although with both Smith’s in the team at the start of the year! Wow you cannot cover every one but he is the first to think about.

Also Well done young Ben Yeomans! :D

Anyone from Lofty explain why the scores were so close against Lobethal. Has Lofty suffered a number of injuries of late? Or were Lobethal good on the day?

A few injuries but still you would have thought they would account for Loby easily. Both games were pretty scrappy affairs & the Tigers definetly came to play. They played some great footy & I think they took Lofty by surprise. Again bad kicking for goal by Lofty made the scores closer than they should have been. Hopefully for Loby's sake they can put up this kind of performance for the rest of the season.

Lofty will look forward to this week against Onkas, and will have a battle on their hands with quite a few players out of both grades due to other commitments. Good to see Poochie Temme back in the 2's as well

Think Loby are better than their ladder position indicates, having said that I don't think this will be the year of the Devil. Good solid team but lacking some genuine "game winners" Would not be surprised if the Dogs get up this weekend.

I find that really surprising because last week they were really average. Their coach is a joke... he just stands at full forward yelling abuse at his players/runner and hardly makes a decent effort for the ball...

Informer he finally moved himself out of the square this week and went to CHB. Actually played quite well. Only Lofty's 2nd win away from home too as opposed to 1 loss at home!

From the outs that I've heard, I think both grades could go the Doggies way. By a bit.

He's been injured all season but managed to push through and find something to play well against Lofty. He needs to be down back full time but body hasn't let him.

Usually a problem with ex SANFL players, they come with alot of cronic injuries.

yeah you could tell he was struggling with injury, i suppose it was more his abusive nature I was questioning. Doesn't seem to be the way to develop and inspire a developing club...

hi troop
have done a lot of soul searching over the last few days and im ready to conceed a spot in the top 5 will now become a little bit tough. sorry i havent posted my thoughts over the last few days... having been camping with the mrs up in the flinders ranges.
absolutely fantastic trip really lifted the spirits... but one thing i can tell you... for those of you whinging and carrying on like pork chops about the facilities at THE FORTRESS... try spending 4 nights on mount remarkable in the middle of july. dont get me wrong love being out in the elements... but i can tell you if i hadnt been wearing my wife like a damn wrap around blanket i would have frozen to the core!!!

as for the result vs uraidla districts im hoping it was just an abberation and we can bounce back this week with a great win.
one thing i can say that was completely unacceptable from the weekend is we were missing a few soldiers due to a wedding... what was going through the god forsaken bride and grooms heads!!! planning a wedding date on a saturday in footy season is bordering on insanity forget having rocks in their head the happy couple must have damn bolders in their skulls!!! probably ended up costing us in the end.

as for putting my Hilux into a tree that must have been some other poor sod because the closest i got was swerving around two damn kangaroos going at it in the middle of the highway in the south austalian outback!

RAIDERS till I DIE!!!

Hey DA... What's the chances of Lofty going down to Onkas this Saturday? I saw a recent post stating Lofty are still a flag threat. One wouldn't think so after just getting over the line against Lobethal. Where do you think they sit with respect to doing any damage come finals time?

Judging by performances against Blackwood and Mt Barker and to a lesser extent Uri, the Dev's can match it on our day.

AFAIK we have a few injuries at present though.

We should be getting over the Dogs on our deck though. Will be a good game. Could be sloppy conditions though.

hi banker
not sure about the broken nose but can report i played witness to a very unsavoury incident from my usual vantage point (in between the coaches boxes heysen trail side).
an idiotic uraidla districts thug threw an brutal elbow back clean into the chops of one of our former leaders and put his teeth clean through his lower lip!!!
there was a serious scuffle before the RAIDERS player came off with the blood rule and from were i was located it looked like his teeth had hit the back of his throat and our man was sucking on a mouthful of damn tic tacs!!!

fair to say the big fella was seeing RED. had to take off my black piping hot beanie so i could hear better but from where i was standing it sounded like lynchy did a good job of defusing what could have become a bigger melee than the infamous line in the sand brawl!!!

one thing i will say is that is 2 weeks in a row my raw emotions have hit damn near boiling point!

RAIDERS till I DIE!!!

Round 15 tips...
Hahndorf vs Birdwood - I still think that the Maggies at home will be too strong, even though Birdwood surprised all last week.
Lofty vs Onkas - Onkas, thanks to Splendour in the Grass.
Ironbank vs Blackwood - should be a good game. Blackwood are a title threat so i can't go past them for a 35 point win.
Mt barker vs Brodgewater - oh my...I don't wanna be the one to push Vaughan over the edge, so I'll just say Barker by a lot.
Uraidla vs Lobethal - obey came to play last week but Uris have a sniff. I'd have to say that it might have been a flash in the pan for Lobey and that they're looking at a 12 goal loss tomorrow at the House of Cabbage.
