I've heard a former demon who's been playing in town might be back next year, definately no Hams but a handy replacement.

The Gooch, if fit, can kick lots of goals.

He still has good hands and a beatiful kick so why give it away.
His old man played for ages....just adjusted his game until the last couple of years he only moved out of the goal square so the Full Back
could kick out and to change ends.

the team is picked by the coach of the year. hence the reason there are so many strath blokes there and no lohde etc....

not saying these blokes cant play, there were just better players. how shaun maxfield doesnt get a gig is beyond me!

Looks like they'll be pretty thirsty!

Interesting to see that the coach of the year picks the side. It's not a bad side, very good infact, but at the most he's seen the majority of these guys play twice, max. Maxfield, Hams, Howell, Lohde & Mcfalane in there for me. Cheetham possibly instead of Hickey

So who's going to win the prelim, Victor or Willunga?

I'm going for Victor of course!

If Hams is out that may hurt more than Victor losing D Ellis - Victor managed without him for half the year.

Is hams definately out or is it a willunga person starting a rumour?
Hams played up the field a little last week to keep thomas isolated in goal square, definately will hurt willunga's structure if thomas isn't fully fit. But others in wes glass and mcgowan can step up for a few.
If it is a dry day i'm picking victor, wet conditions will suit willunga older smarter players more.

He hasn't moved out the goal square all year...
Willunga will win. Only 3 players missing from the Dee's best 21 this week.. 2 of them will play next week if they get up :-?

Good to see, Victor are in a similar boat, actualy a couple of unlucky blokes have missed out. Naturally Victor for me.

I think everyone will enjoy the deck tomorrow it is looking in very good condition all things considered.

No room from Luke Whatman? I might be showing some bias but he has carved up a lot of teams this year off of the half back line.

No disrespect to the blokes in this team because they're all very good players and a couple are guns but a lot of the time these sort of teams seem to be chosen on reputation rather than their form for that particular year.

4 clubs represented in next weeks Grand Finals and i'm tipping that they win 1 each.

'A' Grade - Strathalbyn to beat Willunga

'B' Grade - Willunga to beat Strath

Senior Colts - Langhorne Creek to beat Victor Harbor

Junior Colts - Victor Harbor to beat Willunga

Excluding the A grade - was some very close final margins today.

B Grade - 5pts
Senior colts - 5pts
Junior colts - 2 pts

A bit like last years grand final.

prelim final

Postby tatts » Sun Sep 12, 2010 1:55 am

Great game of Reserves footy in the Prelim today,i guess im biased but Mclaren played their asses of today vbut Strath won and well done to them, better team on the day and have been top all year and we have not beaten them so they deserve to be where they are.High quality game with some great skills on show and a really good effort from both teams.A great advertisement for young guys coming thru the grades that playing B grade is a help in their developement,
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!
