Team of the year in the KNTFL previous 2 seasons I believe, before that played in the RMFL.

I see on the Sanfl fixture release there is a game scheduled for the Riverland between West and Port. Any ideas which club is hosting it??

Also, sad news about a couple of Indy clubs not fielding sides next year. Really there is a lot of talk, but we only have to look back 10-15 years when BSR were part of the old Mid Murray and see that this club not that long ago was fielding u13, u16 b and a grade teams. Country clubs are struggling and player numbers are declining, I think all the clubs in the league have to get together and look at where they will be in 10 years. The region will not sustain the current number of footy teams, and I would think the Indy clubs in particular need to be proactive to maintain some if not all of their heritage and identity. It is better to have a plan now than to watch these proud clubs fold.

Maybe the comp needs to look at the junior structure too. One grade of juniors to accommodate all is too big a difference from the young ones to the older ones. I'm only guessing that the parents take them to the bigger clubs where the kids can play in their own age group? It's hard to get them back again. Would it be possible to play a 9-12 a side modified comp with more age groups?

Not sure about other clubs but for BSR the junior comp worked fine with parents happy to have the little ones play in the same comp. all teams seemed to be responsible and looked after the little ones playing the little kids on each other and that sort if thing. There was only an issue when the minimum age was bought in which then resulted in family's leaving so that all kids can play at the same club.
The bigger issue for us early on was the fact there's no junior netball. This created a hard decision for parents that had girls and boys as having their girls need to play else where meant family's took the boys with to other clubs that had both.

Yep you're spot on there. Having netball follow the footy is massive for any league and the leagues that don't do it are missing out in so many ways - more people = better atmosphere, more canteen/bar sales, more people through the gate and yes the opportunity for the whole family to stay together which reduces travel costs.

Team of the year in 2013, as well as club best and fairest. Neither in 2014.

Stuart Ferenci is his name. Ex Meningie. Great hands and agility. Can kick a ball a long way but is a bit scattergun.

Then again I can't talk, haven't kicked a ball straight since they started phasing out the old drop kick.

I was in Loxton yesterday and was informed of the signing of both and possible Jonny also but not enough funds for the duel medallist.
