The whole procedure is very "grey" (as it is not actually stated in the constitution or the by-laws). I think the board need to set it in stone for 2011 and give all clubs the opportunity to plan and prepare for relegation if they think they will be in the bottom half of the ladder the following season. I think it is too late in the season for the board to expect clubs to accept that they will be relegated.

As for Birdwood, we DO NOT want to go back to Country division. We have done too much hard work over the last 4-5 years at the club level to just wind all that back and go back to Country div. The football is a much better standard in Central div, especially for our kids.

If the HFL came out now and said, this is the procedure for 2011, the lowest club will get relegated to Country for 2012 and Birdwood ended up being the lowest club, then I personally could accept that because it is clear in front of us and we've had plenty of time to prepare.

sigh....this is getting ridiculous.

Actually, it is in the by-laws, AND, all clubs have already been put on notice what the procedure is for 2010.

I'm sure you're correct when you say that Birdwood do not want to go down, however, just because you don't want to be relegated doesn't mean you wont be (or shouldn't be).

From the points table listed above, seems that the next clash between Lobethal and Birdwood will end up deciding who stays in Central and who goes to Country.

Gervais, for everyone's info then, copy and paste on the forum the procedure/system in place for when a club wants to go up into Central Div.

I am so excited about the next 4 months! So many good games coming up and it will be a fantastic finish to the regular season, along with seeing the best players in the competition stand up come finals time!!

Agreed lebron... I asked for this to happen last week but the same clowns seem to be stirring the same pot again. Get over it lads, the rules were made clear months ago and all club officials are aware. Its kind of sad that some of you are now asking or hoping your U/13's can save your arse. Guess what? All clubs have 8 days left to recruit and add to their A grade list... I suggest you do the best you can with those those 8 days but I feel you may have left it all too late considering you don't have to accept a clearance for up to 10 days. I guess it comes down to good club management and constant recruiting even when the season has started. Time was certainly on every clubs side... some chose to use it wisely others chose to hope things would get better... and I guess they haven't. Too bad, you go to Country Div... now start your bitching relegation page and leave this one alone.

Your club is obviously not in danger of being relegated - so you don't give a rat's toss bag over this subject, but for the clubs involved it's the main issue within the HFL at the moment, so it being discussed here is totally relevant, if you don't like it - stiff.

I would like to know what it is costing clubs (in dollars) to try and stay in Central and what TV are spending in their efforts to get to Central?? My previous posts have consistently suggested that the money spent by clubs is not sustainable and will cause more problems as time goes on eg what is TV going to do when Gary Hughes pulls up stumps??

I believe the HFL need to take a real hard look at this, to save some clubs from themselves, the points system only goes so far, there surely needs to be some restrictions on actual dollars spent - don't ask me how but I think it should be looked at.

Get over it..and face the facts..some team is coming back to Country Div..

and by the way..from what i heard form the cally match on saturday dont expect them to be around next season..they where apparently a shambles..

I do care about it mate and my club is one which could be relegated but this subject has been done to death. I'll do you a favour and start a Relegation Page for you and the others who wish to harp on about the one topic over and over again.

hi everyone
im back. was called away suddenly with yet another great business opportunity that i couldnt pass up.
but what a fantastic weekend. the RAIDERS flexed their muscle at the FORTRESS for a great win over the supposedly "topped up" lobethal who are desperately attempting to escape relegation. was really proud of the boys and i know that lynchy will have them up and firing this week for the return clash with onkas. huge chance to clock up 2 wins in a row and i want to see the boys frothing at the mouth at the opening bounce on saturday.

also fantastic effort from the richmond boys. another great win and i have splashed a bit of money on them making a late charge for the 8.
also south had the bye but i have been informed that the boys trained very well on friday night so that is a great result also.

also on a personal note was great to see that one of my letters to the editor finally got published. if anyone has a copy handy check out page 10 of the recent edition (July 2010) of ALPHA magazine. a topic i am very passionate about... a great inspiration.

RAIDERS till I DIE!!!

Some solid games coming up this weekend, could really show alot about some of the teams and where they are at.

Onkas vs Bridgewater - i think this will be a close game but i can't see the raiders getting up for this one.
Birdwood vs Ironbank - Obviously alot different prospect to what it was earlier in the year but i think you'll find this closer than i'm guessing most will tip. We have a big month or so ahead of us and we really think we can snag a few and continue to build for Central Division success.
Mt Lofty vs Blackwood - Blackwood are good but to me they rely on too few for their wins. Lofty will come home strong this year and give the finals a red hot shake
Lobethal vs Hahndorf - Lobethal will struggle... enough said
Uraidlavs Mt Barker - what a game! Grand final preview in my opinion. Mt Barker with a well coached, well rounded team, and uraidla with a team of superstars and hardened bodies. I'm still going Mt Barker for the flag but i reckon Uraidla by a couple of points in a cracker jack game!

agreed uri mt barker should be a hard game. IMO both sides will need the week off after beacuse it will be a bruising encounter. we played uri on the weekend and they were better then the first time we played them, but not as good as barker. they did have a few out so will get stronger but barker have not put a foot wrong and they will win by 3 goal. I will be attending this game and not the handorf game because of work commitments and hopefully I can report back on a good hard game of footy. best on ground - Bellman mt barker

After first round of games seems like the results each week will be pretty easy to pick. All the sides seem to have settled into their spots. Still don't think Ironbank are as good as their resent results have shown. Maybes some of the teams like onkas and hahndorf have gotten worse.

Has been alot of talk due to the relegation issue questioning/stating how important junior development is at each club and as a result the clubs that do it better are getting results now at senior level. Thats why we've seen the improvement from some of the sides like ironbank???

Would be interesting for those that are in the know at these clubs to tell us all what their junior ranks have produced for the higer levels at the moment. I'm always keen on following local talent in the AFL or SANFL league, reserves or u18's side.

These number of locals in A's and B's that played juniors at the club seem pretty good. But depending on the club and its current position they may not be the quality everyones looking for, but does provide a strong community base to build around.

Anyone got numbers in town that will come back in a few years as better players to help you win flags at A grade level?
