Who gets their best team on the park will play a big part in the finals. I reviewed the sides played in round 18:

Willunga:
Missing: M Thomas, Baxter, Genovese, Wadewitz, Carnevale, Guitink (2pts).
Played with 12 points (-1 colt for 11 out of 11 available)

Strathalbyn:
Missing: Eagleton, Schrama (2pts), Wilson (2pts) (P Siddall, Hall, Thrum all played plenty of A grade games all played in the B’s – probably qualifying)
Played with 9 out of 13 points available

Creeks:
Missing: M Tonkin, Chandler, M James, Mcleod, Verco, Basir (3pts), R Follett
Played with 14 points (-2 colts for 12 out of 11 available) I must have missed a colt. Hard to squeeze Basir in if available.

Victor:
Missing: Saunders, Parker, Parry, T Simmons (all injured)
Played with 12 out of 13 points available

Yank:
Missing: Hamlyn (susp), Matthew James, King, Kovacic (3pts) (M Doyle, Brazier in reserves)
Played with 17 points (-2 colts for 15 out of 15 available)

So some good players to come back for all sides – esp for Willunga

Once again Loccy McGregor was the hero when he took a great contested mark and then went back to kick truly a few seconds before the siren sounded. Next Sunday at Goolwa we will do it all again, if its anything like the game we saw on Saturday it will be well worth the entrance fee.

When you say Willunga were injury riddled do you mean that they had a few out on the weekend or did they cop some injuries on Saturday??

They have a lot on the injury list. Not quite sure if they copped anymore on Saturday.

Great win by the creek on saturday. Willunga haven't played in an elimination final for over a decade sunday footy will feel a bit strange for them. A lot of good players out of both teams will be interesting to see the ins for both teams this week. Feast being out for sturt commitments this sunday will really hurt the creek, i'm tipping willunga(sept kings) to reverse the result!

My thoughts:

Pilmore
Sherwood
Simmons (victor)
Simmons (strath)
Lewis (i think thats his name at Yank)

Are all safe as houses if they want the job again.

Samuels
Enc Bay dude (sorry forgot his name)

Are 2 who you think would be safe but not as safe as 5 listed above

rumour i hear is Dennis is gone which is a pity cos i have heard some real good things about him.

The 2 biggest disappointments would have to be Hill and Sampson, massive reputations for different reasons and both operating decent young lists but have underachieved badly this year. Although the poor seasons i still think both would be re-appointed again.

What do people think?

Sambo has been far from disappointing. The club has gone forward this year & whilst we would have liked more wins, it will come. No quick fixes with the point system. Got a lot of games into the young fellas which will help in 2011. The club will attempt to recruit quality players to fill voids that we have in the side. Some good kids coming up next season combined with new recruits will hopefully see us able to compete with the top 6 sides.

Great to finish the season with a win & celebrate the day after with Crap 4 Cash. Big couple of days for some.

You recruited a lot of players this year. How many more do you think you need?
EMUS? the rock stars of the outback.
emus are berserk. they run fast, playhard,
and to be honest, we admire their insanity.

surely feast will play a do or die final?(i personally would hope so if i was a young creek player, coach or sponsor) Is this the best elimination final on paper we have ever seen? (thankfully been played on the best surface in the comp) and finally is $10 too steep for entry in to the game? (could be an expensive exercise for families and may deter neutral supporters)
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

Langhorne Creek's favourite son returning to play FF next season? He'd be hard for any GSFL Full Back to stop.

I dont know Ben personally, so just a Question: How loyal do you think he would be to Langhornes? Because I know of 2 clubs already that have either been in contact or going to be in contact with him with large sums of money on the table. Langhornes do have a heap aswell I guess ;)
