Sorry for the late tackle, been a metre or two behind the play of late. This topic is very funny, as are the entertaining comments here in response. I wonder if Mr Lamshed has heard the one about people in glasshouses????
Yes Owen, we do stick to the site rules, so I won't mention the mini-leaguer who is a very regular visitor and contributor here. But I am allowed to say he's a very close friend of Oliver Dumphrey, Russell Knowall, Penny of Prospect Hill and Monica of Milang, all of whom seem now deceased so I can't be accused of defaming them. These peculiar people spent an extraordinary amount of time writing letters to editors in budgets targeting strange issues, putting down hard-working people, commenting on the taste of various hamburgers at grounds, or pushing barrows which the rest of us found perplexing, irrelevant and at times downright offensive.
Owen, just as the Final Siren is your forum, so is this one ours. If you can't deal with it, don't go here. To avoid this stress, cover your eyes. Block this site. Bar yourself. Join a self-help group. Do whatever it takes so you aren't contaminated by experiences from others which you clearly don't need or want.
And by the way Owen, in response to your Siren article, I have cheerfully spent literally thousands of hours contributing to country football, as have hundreds who contribute here. And thanks for drawing attention to this forum. It's an informative site and we don't have to pay at the gate to get in.
Could not have put it any better Crumber, well said! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Owen!!!!!!!

Touche Crumber, well said!
I hope Owie reads this bit, just looked at HFL website, it's sadly in need of some updating, all I could find was 2009 so if you're struggling to find something to write about Owen, maybe pen an advert for someone to do the work that you appear incapable of doing.

All 2010 info is on sportingpulse. As up to date and accurate as ever.
The slating of Owen on here has been massively overdone. I hope all of you blokes contribute hundreds of hours in volunteered time to your respective clubs. It's easy to be an armchair critic.

I don't know.
How about you send them a polite email with your suggestion?
Continuing to criticise them and nitpick minor points won't help any of us. Nobody is perfect.

Sorry if I sound cynical, but polite suggestions to the League have never worked and judging by the informed comments here over years, they never will. I agree nobody is perfect, but we aren't nitpicking when we expect a reasonable degree of reception to new ideas and/or criticisms from the body that's supposed to represent us (which sure as hell doesn't represent me).

Perhaps some of the suggestions put to the league in the past weren't deemed beneficial for all in the league?
I'm not sure the comments on here are 'informed' much of the time. And given the annonymous nature of posters, I'd be reluctant to believe any of it if I were you. It's great for a bit of banter, but it seems the truth often gets in the way of a great story.
Each club has representation to the HFL and plenty of opportunities throughout the year to communicate with the league heirarchy. Perhaps the representatives from your club aren't doing their job properly?
There's not much wrong with our league. You know that if you don't like they way the league is run, you are allowed to run for presidency yourself?
