Half-way mark of the year...... Has that Darwin bookie got odds for Hills Mail Medallist?? Anyone got any opinions?? From Barker, probably Block in front of Fisher at the moment, the two must deinitely be in the top ten for the count to this date!!! I also like S Ebert from Uraidla.

Sorry for the late tackle, been a metre or two behind the play of late. This topic is very funny, as are the entertaining comments here in response. I wonder if Mr Lamshed has heard the one about people in glasshouses????

Yes Owen, we do stick to the site rules, so I won't mention the mini-leaguer who is a very regular visitor and contributor here. But I am allowed to say he's a very close friend of Oliver Dumphrey, Russell Knowall, Penny of Prospect Hill and Monica of Milang, all of whom seem now deceased so I can't be accused of defaming them. These peculiar people spent an extraordinary amount of time writing letters to editors in budgets targeting strange issues, putting down hard-working people, commenting on the taste of various hamburgers at grounds, or pushing barrows which the rest of us found perplexing, irrelevant and at times downright offensive.

Owen, just as the Final Siren is your forum, so is this one ours. If you can't deal with it, don't go here. To avoid this stress, cover your eyes. Block this site. Bar yourself. Join a self-help group. Do whatever it takes so you aren't contaminated by experiences from others which you clearly don't need or want.

And by the way Owen, in response to your Siren article, I have cheerfully spent literally thousands of hours contributing to country football, as have hundreds who contribute here. And thanks for drawing attention to this forum. It's an informative site and we don't have to pay at the gate to get in.

Could not have put it any better Crumber, well said! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Owen!!!!!!!

The funniest post I've ever seen on here and absolutely accurate too. Are you a journo Crumber? You should be!

If it is and this is again allowed, someone should get shot! Who does this guy think he is and how stupid are the clubs that keep "ping ponging" him around like a pinball?
Port Districts must have 'rocks in their head' to entertain him again this season after the trips he's made to and fro to Exeter to all points of the compass.

I hope Owie reads this bit, just looked at HFL website, it's sadly in need of some updating, all I could find was 2009 so if you're struggling to find something to write about Owen, maybe pen an advert for someone to do the work that you appear incapable of doing.

All 2010 info is on sportingpulse. As up to date and accurate as ever.

The slating of Owen on here has been massively overdone. I hope all of you blokes contribute hundreds of hours in volunteered time to your respective clubs. It's easy to be an armchair critic.

So are you saying the website is now defunct? I would have thought a great way of advertising your league would be through your own website as done by millions of good business'. Would it not be a good idea for a redirection link then from the old site to the new or is that out of the question also?

I have to agree with DA here, this Owen bashing needs to stop. Owen certainly threw the line in the water and a heap of you took it hook, line and sinker. Owen would be having a good ole laugh... get over it guys.

I don't know.
How about you send them a polite email with your suggestion?
Continuing to criticise them and nitpick minor points won't help any of us. Nobody is perfect.

I only know of McCormick and P. Magarey from Blackwood so far making the squad, any other names we can add to that list?

Sorry if I sound cynical, but polite suggestions to the League have never worked and judging by the informed comments here over years, they never will. I agree nobody is perfect, but we aren't nitpicking when we expect a reasonable degree of reception to new ideas and/or criticisms from the body that's supposed to represent us (which sure as hell doesn't represent me).

Perhaps some of the suggestions put to the league in the past weren't deemed beneficial for all in the league?

I'm not sure the comments on here are 'informed' much of the time. And given the annonymous nature of posters, I'd be reluctant to believe any of it if I were you. It's great for a bit of banter, but it seems the truth often gets in the way of a great story.

Each club has representation to the HFL and plenty of opportunities throughout the year to communicate with the league heirarchy. Perhaps the representatives from your club aren't doing their job properly?

There's not much wrong with our league. You know that if you don't like they way the league is run, you are allowed to run for presidency yourself?

Like the program this year ? Definatley not benificial to Ironbank with 4 away games in a row made it tough to run the club for a few weeks after the draw was changed 3 times and there was no reciprication of night games for past games against clubs we have played under lights in the past . But i could see you running for the job DA " President Advocate " has a nice ring to it . Then again you wouldnt be alowed to hurl abuse from the balcony and where would all the fun be in going to goat park to here that :D :D

Whilst we are on the topic of Owen who we acknowledge does a gr8 job - what is this Junior advisory board that is looking at the future of junior football in the hills. Who is on it - I beleive Nwd and sturt have a rep but which HFL clubs are involved. Believe it to be Mt Ronnie, Hahndorf, Blackies and Lofty - wouldn't be any vested interest there would there be !!! Can just picture in 5 years all 20 junior delegates sitting around with only 4 clubs having strong junior programs due to what this so called experts board came up with. No one seems to know what this mob talk about as nothing is communicated to any of the other 16 "outside" clubs. who knows what Matthews and co are conjuring up. Believe one central clubs junior delegate is starting to ask questions as to what this group of clowns are up to and that many other clubs are about to break their silence and voice their concerns as well.
