Well done to both Trigga and Klun, and to Ironbank's ruckman. Saw him play on Sunday, and he has a big future.

Most importantly though....who won the coveted Golden Whistle?!!!!

Macdonald won the "Golden Game Ruiner"award. Klun is a gun, but did he play all year? May be why he slid under the radar. Does the imminent rain affect tips for this weekend?

For A grade, I'd imagine a wetter, slower game would help Blackwood.
Lofty and Uri's are close, weather shouldn't affect either team, although I reckon some of the talls at Uri's would struggle a bit more. Balhannah will deal with it fine though.

Golden Game Ruiner - very appropriately titled! Maybe the captains should give their 3,2,1 after the game to the umpire with the most influence!

I think Onkas will win whether it's wet or dry, 1 degree or 50 degrees, I can't see Blackwood having the chop to match the Dogs.

Uri's are a big side, but have a lot of talent. Can't wait for Sat - September is sweet as a bag of wheat!

maybe even sweeter devilsavacado!! better luck next time on the golden whistle big fella. i think if it is wet on sunday it will certainly help blackwood get closer, but not close enough.. its meant to be fine weather for their game anyway. (has anyone heard where theyre playing)?

the first time mtlofty and uris played it was wet and the devils seemed a bit more comfortable. theyre both awesome teams really anyone could win on the day..

The Golden Whistle is the only thing I'll ever have a chance of winning on Mail Medal night! Unless they bring out a 'Biggest dickhead supporter Medal' - I'd be a sure thing!

It was also wet when Blackwood played Mt Lofty at Heathfield, on a day when 15 goals were kicked. Blackwood did not feature in any of these.

Lofty absolutely cleaned up with the medals and trophys this year. Courier Cup in the A and B grade. Mail Medal and Coach of the year. Jarrett Nissan Shield and leading goal kicker in the B grade. They also won the Crafers Cup, Cutting Cup, The Leading Edge Cup which are the cups between , Mount Barker, Ironbank and Bridgewater.

well done to the club but im sure the only trophy they want to get their hands on is the premiership cup. all the other awards will mean nothing otherwise.

Footballer, i'm tipping you are absolutely right. Everything else means nothing compared to holding up that cup, with your mates on grand final day. In 10 years you wouldn't look back and say how about when we won those cups and and personal accolades. But you would look back and say hows about that premiership 10 years ago. Would have to be one of the greatest days in your life and one of the things you will never forget.
Great work to the devils on achieving so much this year though.

Everyone's happy to get stuck into TV for match payments, but it's Ok for other Clubs because they have worked hard to make their Club financial....
Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
If the TV Board were smart enough to appoint a Coach who can bring financial resources to the Club then that's not something they should be criticised for.

Yeah the Devils definitely will count their season as a failure if they don't hold that cup up on GF Saturday. Personally I think they might crumble, too many pretty boys in their team for mine. Too much bleach and too much solarium!

2words, you sound as if you have a crank over the premiership cup every night mate. Does that keep you motivated?

Your hardly one to talk mate. I dare say you would be one of the main culprits of bleach and solarium. In fact mt lofty only adopted the name of "Glamour Boys" when you started playing for the club.

During my "alone time" i often fantasise about winning a flag. Imagine what it would be like if i ever do actually win a flag. Im tipping i wont require much alone time at all!

pp, its common knowledge. the coach is just on an ego trip. its only pocket change to him, and an easy way for him to put his name out there. i have heard him quite a few times, and dead set, my u/12's coach had more knowledge than him. you put him in charge of a team that is say, middle of the road, and there is no way that he could improve them. and not many on here would argue that. there have been some very ordinary players at tv and gums over the years that have been getting money from him. kinda sad i think. it's not what real country footy is about. and another sad thing, all the money he has spent this year wont get him a flag. (even though he got one last year)
tell me, where do you think tv will be when he finishes coaching there??? :?:

I agree that he is not the best coach in the Competition. That's not my point.
He has brought success to an otherwise struggling Club in TV.
Yes TV pay some ordinary players. All Clubs have done that.
The main reason for that is that TV needs to pay more players than most because of the dearth of players in Mount Pleasant / Mt Torrens area. It's not a level playing field in that regard.

Mount Lofty pay players. They have had success. Lofty is not criticised for that to the extent of TV. I'm not sure what the difference is.

hahhah are you serious, where have you been for the past year?? Go back and re-read postings from the last 2 months and see the blasting that Mt Lofty were getting about paying players on here. Its old news, everyone does it, get over it.

Lofty have fought hard to be able to afford these players. Just look at how HUGE their supporter base, i say good on them. Their president is obviously doing an exceptional job at fund raising and getting people involved in the club.

Thanks for your thoughts luvinfooty. Your earlier post about Lofty is exactly what Im talking about.
Lofty worked hard to pay their players. Well done to them. Great to see them having success.
TV appointed a coach with money. Smart decision.
Yes everyone does it. I'm nott he one complaining about Clubs paying players. There's nothing for me to get over.

PP nobody likes to see success that isn't earnt, if the club had a basis before hand and the coach was the icing on the cake it would not be such a big deal. I can tell you it runs deeper than that, I can't understand why a good bloke like Carter would play with a bunch of toss bags. And the constant appearances the club makes at the tribunal backs the coaches, scream and fight 70's style of football.

Lofty at least acheived success through working as a club and one would think will remain a club for many years to come. Can the same be said for Torrens Valley ??? Unfortunately i don't have a positive for this club of yours, they don't drink at oppostition clubs after games, even brought their own booze one year !

Don't get me wrong I hope they don't fold in the future. The oval is a magnificent ground, with adequate clubrooms. I would just lik to see a more controlled fix for the club to ensure their future.
