It's Pratt.

By the way Hardly Super if you were at the game on Saturday were you disappointed in the way Loots went about playing, like giving late hits on players after they had kicked the ball. I see he kicked 2 goals but they were both umpires goals. If thats they way they reward best players at Mclaren, theres a reason why they have struggled this season.

Good call LF. Should be a fantastic Finals series. There is a chance that Willunga may finish outside of the top 3....and to go top from there will certainly be a great achievement for them
Pratt was terrific on Saturday and will be a hot favourite for the Mail Medal.

You might get your wish this week LF....playing against a kid you coached a couple of weeks ago!!!!!!!!

mate lootsy gives as good as he gets, never complains about it, and smashes in at every contest, he annoys the opposition no matter who he is playing against, but i would challenge anyone to knock his toughness or will to win the footy, if you dont think he was one of best on the weekend i dont know what game you were watching.

Lootsys been a great servant of all the clubs hes played at over the years! Hes hard at it, finds the footy and shows the young guys how to attack the footy. Used to get too involved with supporters and onfield verbals and has been known to throw out a cheapy but in the end plays the game, what happens on the field stays on it and always shows his face in the club for a drink after the game.

Yank v Strath this week, maybe a prelude to the GF?? Victor jumped out of the blocks last week and were 6 goals up at qtr time, game over right there. To our credit we battled on for the rest of the day but were beaten by an opposition who will go deep into September.

An exciting final 6 rounds with the finishing order truly unknown and any of the 5 sides a very good chance of taking it out.

Pratt to win the medal!

It's been a bit quiet on the GSFL thread over the last couple of weeks.. The game of the round this week will certainly be the clash down at Tigerland with Yank hosting Strath. I am tipping the Tiges to be too strong at home.

Well does that spur on the Demon Boys! Don't underestimate their finals experiences although the last few games now need to be better so they have the best chance in the finals. Work hard boys. It's all up to you..... again!

All the games of footy I've been to - I have never ever seen this happen before - until today.

B Grade - Mt Compass v Willunga.
Start of the 4th Quarter - Willunga up by a couple of goals.

A few minutes into the quarter - the umpire starts yelling at both teams to line up in the middle.
No one knew what was going on - then a supporter yelled out,
"They're calling for a count"
The umpires counted and Willunga had 19 men on the field

Player sent off, Willunga score wiped back to zero

Who's responsible for this kind of thing happening?
I wonder who pointed it out.

All I could think was poor Jags and Jags will be spewing.
You get what you give....

Unbelievable A Mum would hate to be the team manager involved. It has cost willunga a win plus equal top spot. Do you know who the 19th player on the field was and how long did they have 19 men on the field? Would have been very interesting to watch reactions of willunga players.

i think it's up to the captain to ask the umps for a headcount? maybe even if the coach sends the runner out to the umps?

mccracken cup

Postby kickittome » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:39 pm

Strath beat yank today by 6 goals winning the mccracken cup. Strath had first use of good breeze kicking 6 goals to 0 setting the win up. Yank could never peg margin back. Have never seen as many coaching support staff in country footy than today with yank, very crowded sideline. Nice new verandah very nice addition, now for those visiting changeroom upgrade.

the count was called for about half way through last qtr once it was found willunga had 19 players on field they were stripped of there score willunga seemed to fall to bits after it abusing each other skills went to poo and compass looked so much better. pretty sure hoppo was the offending player, willunga players didnt think the score should have been stripped cos it wasn't there fault

probably not the way a close game should have finished

That is a huge price to pay for what i would think was an inoccent mistake, whilst i realise that is the rules and they must followed surely the common sense approach would have been both clubs agreeing that the Willunga score for that quarter be taken back to zero and play on ??
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

it's a tough one ! a 'rumour' I heard thru an old mate of a mate :) was that one of the parents of a Compass player counted 19 Demon players during the 2nd quarter! .... is this a tactic of the Demons?

hey i'm only having some fun! but unfortunately the rules are there! I'm sure this will make the Dee's even hungrier, neverthe less and amazing storey though!
