Surely there have been some signings over the festive period.
Anyone know of any ???

Looks as if Roopena are very close to signing Matt Oliver
and Phil Smith.

Both are 100 goal a year full forwards in stronger leagues so very handy recruits
if they do sign.

This guy is just another football gypsy that cleans up money in the country. How many clubs for him now, I've lost count!

Word is Oliver is on, Smith not sure as yet.

You have to remember not only Waylon is good mates with these blokes, other club members like Garry Taylor, Dale Williams, Shaun Hannan etc all good mates with eachother.

Yes, that is what I meant.
Seems you do have some initiative after all.
Thought I may have had to edit that one for you. ;)

Anyway, yes, quite possibly so.

From what I've heard of Oliver, what you say seems to be pretty uniform and not outlandish.

I'm merely suggesting it won't be the figures he may have had in the past, for either of them I guess.

Depending on salary cap space I would imagine.

All I know is Oliver is on, Phil is yet to decide.

Either way Roopena looks very good if they can get them all on the park.

They have recruited well.

Peter Usher - Ex Whyalla boy (Central Whyalla) Signed
James Van Hoof - North Adelaide, Signed
Matt Oliver - Everywhere, Apparently he is about to Sign
Waylon Nielsen - Back to the club as Player/Coach

Phil Smith - Lucindale (Ex Roopena), Still working out if he is going to move back to Whyalla.
Peter Carter - Apparently he wants to move from Central Whyalla to Roopena

Just with the 4 they have signed they will be very handy, Nielsen is still one of the best midfielders in the competition and if they have Oliver at full forward plus Van Hoof floating around they will be very strong.

Phil Smith's signature would have to make them favourites for the flag.

Probably Roo's have hey Cobra as you are obviously a Roo's person yourself from the way you are writing on here??
Also dont be fooled into thinking that Phil Smith wont be getting paid any money for coming back just because he is Waylon's mate he will be getting paid nicely dont you worry ......

Cobra is not a Roos person.

He has Roo connections.

Phil Smith hasn't committed to anything as yet Bluey, but yes, being a 100-goal a year forward I reckon he would attract a reasonable figure.

Whether he will be seeking such a sum, well, that's yet to be ascertained.

Written in a very bitter tone though. What's wrong? Can't accept players getting paid yet?
