You'd have to say that Barker & Blackwood are there, Uraidla are there, Lofty SHOULD be and Onkas would only really need only to beat Hahndorf again along the way, with I/B needing to beat most if not all the top 5 to make up for the slow start. But footy's a strange game...

With all these new chances to teams etc i have a question that keeps springing to mind..... Who is going to Div 2 next year?

That old chestnut! Based on club shield, it'd be Lobey, wouldn't it?
And had a chat over some beers with some mates yesterday and we thought that with the promotion of Torrens Valley next year, and Birdwood being there, is there any point in calling it 'Central Division'? What do you have to be central to, a local pub?

Central and Country saves it from being called Div 1 & Div 2 - that is all. Makes recruiting in Div 2 easier.

Well spotted. The application AND approval was all done on the same date! They were obviously trying to get him in for the Ironabank game, did he play? I assume he'l be playing this weekend vs the Devs then, dammit!

Pretty sure he didnt play against us, but Handorf look in trouble to make the finals now.

Huge game for IB this week, recent form indicates we could go in favourites.

Maggies imposed a one year ban on him. Won't let him play till next season.

Any chance he played for the Unley Jets on Saturday? A Matthew Cooper was a new in for them.
What was he banned for?

i see the clearance was approved on the 21/5/10 river murray back to hahndorf . Question was he then cleared straight to the saafl ? because my spys tell me he definatly played for the jets at unley on saturday and not at hahndorf on saturday night as i was there . Just wondering if he had to be cleared back to hahndorf because he didnt play a game for tailem and then could be cleared to the jets whos clearances dont show up on sporting pulse ?

You'd have to say that Barker & Blackwood are there, Uraidla are there, Lofty SHOULD be and Onkas would only really need only to beat Hahndorf again along the way, with I/B needing to beat most if not all the top 5 to make up for the slow start. But footy's a strange game...

It's shaping up to be a very interesting competition. Even Bridgewater can play when the heat is on them as they showed against Lofty; Lobethal getting it's first win this season; Ironbank building up momentum; Torrens Valley on the way in next year. Our competition certainly looks like it's healthy and only getting better.

Personally, I don't want to see any clubs get dropped to the other division, Torrens Valley and Onkas will be annoyed if they miss out on a short trip down the road to play Lobethal if that's the team that gets relegated. As much as Ironbank are a bunch of whinges, I'd hate to lose the chance to beat them twice a year and I'm sure a lot of clubs would be sad to see Bridgewater go if it's them but someone has to make way..... :(

Touche! But 'Tit for tat' rubbish aside, I'd still hate to see Ironbank go down. Our rivalry with them is great for footy in our areas.

Observation - After this weekend IB will have played @ home only twice in the first 8 rounds!

7 of our last 10 games are @ home! By no means are we getting ahead of ourselves but we all know that visiting teams are not fond of the tight confines @ the thunderdome... sets us up for a good tilt at avoiding relegation for sure!

Not that I'm a big one for standing up for I/B ;) but that seems pretty unfair, a good start to a season is extremely important. 3 out of 8...haven't seen that before. I remember when I played for the Devs, one year every game we played was the team coming off the bye. Could go one of two ways but it just seemed that the team coming off the bye (esp late in the season) always ran out games better. The draw can make a difference.
Devs have 2 games in a row finishing this w/end with the night clash, but that's pretty normal.

Stay fond of that win informer... other than your additional 2 points from beating Loby (by just over a kick) you may need it to hang your hat on this season... doesn't seem to be much else happening recently other than 10+ goal drubbings

4 away games in a row too!

Try running a club with no income from home games for that long.

Another gem from the HFL!

It's actually 2 out of 8! With 4 in a row away (as mop up mentions)!

We wanted the rain to hold out just one more week as we have Shanty & the pit this week... already got Mt Ronnie out of the way so that would be good to have them both behind us before the real winter begins
