Thunderers had their first win tonight at Hahndorf, great effort boys, cant remember the margin but I think it was about 30 points. Should have been more but very inacurate kicking. B Grade had a massive win 20 odd goals.

Yeah about 6 goals in the end I think. Inaccurate and didn't run out the last quarter but otherwise a solid effort. Very good considering Nicholas dominated the hitouts.

Agree Hahndorf oval is in great nick and the lights are superb. Unfortunately can't say the same for the showers - not hot water! For that reason we didn't see any of our boys in the Hahndorf club post-match as we all headed back to Cherry Gardens for a shower.

Bankers very impressive. 36 scoring shots to 17 is a spanking. Still a couple to come back in. Pity it has taken so long to get a full team on the park. Gee Hahndorf lights and oval are good. Vaughan we will see you next week at the pig sty.

awesome work for the thunderers to break the duck lets hope that is the start of a few more wins in the next few games before the long weekend to continue the revival . Interesting to see Blackwood still kicked 20 odd goals with out gigney  look forward to the banter this week from the v man :D

Thunderers, hey!? Had a feeling...
Was at the Lofty game and although Lofty's disposal at times was average, they ran the ball well. Birdwood had a coupla triers and their bald FF was pretty handy but overall they were pretty rank. 8 goals to 13 at half time with Lofty booting 10 to 1 in the second half. B grade smashed the roosters too.
I thought Blackwood would win but didn't think by that much, maybe no Gigney has opened the scoring avenues up? Big day for the Woods considering V thought that Shanty were a chance in most of the grades...

Yes, Blackwood did share the goals around and have made them less predictable in attacking options. It's still early days for them and they don't come up against a top 4 side till the end of June so they have a bit of time to move things around and find new options in attack.
The coach mentioned at after match presentations that it was a bit of a headache at selection working out what would be best for the forward lines, whether they put another main target up forward or modify the game plan to put the responsibility on more players to score goals; Ultimately ended up experimenting with different players at full forward. Time will tell if Blackwood can continue to develop after losing their key forwards through injury.

Still see Mt Barker as the team to beat, Uraidla also showing improved form and will be a hard target. Mt Lofty and Ironbank have been the big improvers in the last month, I think both sides have found more balance and cohesion since pre-season and the teams are working together better.

I think the business is expanding and with all the trips abroad the great mind that is Vaughan is far to important to concern himself with such small things like football

Well spotted. The application AND approval was all done on the same date! They were obviously trying to get him in for the Ironabank game, did he play? I assume he'l be playing this weekend vs the Devs then, dammit!

I don't want to dampen enthusiasm, but this decision reflects poorly on the Hahndorf Football Club. You change your culture from within and this is a step backwards.

I do know what the rumors are about him leaving, and from what I have heard you certanly don't want that at your club (id rather not say something this bad about someone if im not sure if its true) Bad by the Magpies if this is true. love to hear from the Magpiemaster on this issue.

Pretty sure he didnt play against us, but Handorf look in trouble to make the finals now.

Huge game for IB this week, recent form indicates we could go in favourites.

Jeez. Well i didn't hear anything bar "the club moved him on" type stuff. Surely, surely with the way most clubs are going (trying to make the club as family-friendly and hospitable as possible) what he did couldn't have been a hanging offence, especially seeing as the Magpies started with what was tipped to be a genuine finals contender squad. or is it a case of 'all hands on deck'?
Banker - how did the Maggies look, did they have their big names ie kaesler, Bartemucci etc?

The maggies will tell you they had 8 out but reality is they had all their so called main players playing. They are rebuilding , simple as that and they will struggle for a year or 2. Ironbank should have won by 20 goals they where that much better. It is amazing how good a team can be when they have a full compliment to choose from. In 2 -3 week they will have all of their players to choose from so the season is looking a lot more competitive for them. The next 5 weeks is a true indication of what the season holds for them. I know after the last 3 weeks they are confident that they can match the best now. Consistency is the key.

Finals a chance for I/B? Or is it too late with the start that Onkas got and Lofty now looking better?
You'd have to say that Barker & Blackwood are there, Uraidla are there, Lofty SHOULD be and Onkas would only really need only to beat Hahndorf again along the way, with I/B needing to beat most if not all the top 5 to make up for the slow start. But footy's a strange game...
