Informer - yup, bit of a shame. Passionate is one thing, but the drivel that pours out of Vaughan's keyboard is now taking the p#ss. Any other Raiders out there willing to post in reality?

hi jq
not sure what your god damn problem is but just because i have a soft spot for my home ground doesnt mean my opinion is drivel. obviously made a few comments tongue in cheek comments because i know how much drones like you huff and puff over the state of our facilities.

for crying out loud you probably think that sloped sand trap out at mount lofty is better. its only advantage is you boys get some altitude training when running laps up and down that damn hill.

also a bit disresprctful looking to rest players against birdwood. lets just hope you underestimate your opposition like you did against the raiders a few weeks back. and thats reality mate.
V.

Hi Vaughan,
No problem, mate. 'Soft spot' is quite appropriate, your whole pit is a soft spot. And no, by no means would I put Lofty up there as a great surface. But that's cool, it's not where 3 flags were won back-to-back anyway. And there was also no mention of 'resting' players against Birdwood, but if it means a better outfit against uris, that's the opposition I would rather have my best fit squad for. I actually think birdwood will give it a nudge in all honesty.
You keep holding on to that win against us, mate. When your mob get exposed on a bigger deck in the second round, you'll get punished.

Blackwood V Bridgewater - Blackwood by plenty and Vaughan to take an early week "Business Trip" to re-group
Mt Lofty V Birdwood - Lofty on the rebound by 10 goals
Mt Barker V Lobethal - Roo's by heaps, i may even stay home and do some work around the house.
Uraidla V Onkas - My news tells me Onkas are missing 10 of their walk-up starters. They are going to need a small miracle. Uri's by 10 goals
Hahndorf V Ironbank - Match of the round - This tip is based on Hahndorf having a full line up otherwise the bankers may take their first win of the season. The pies by 3 goals

Lofty - will be inaccurate but win by 7 goals.
Mt Barker - captain Obvious tapped me on the shoulder and sugested I pick the Roos by 17 goals. So I am.
Uraidla - sounds like they're on the improve, so I'm going with Uraidla by 8 goals.
Ironbank - I agree with overthehill, match of the round and I think ironbank are Stewie Dew for a win - 4 points.

Blackwood by 10 goals - Vaughan to stay a raider till he dies but will cop a bit from the forum
Mt Lofty by 10+ goals
Mt Barker by 15+ goals
Uraidla by 10+ goals if the outs are true, 5+ goals if not
Ironbank by 5+ goals, been playing some real good footy without getting across the line. Think it is now their time this week - Go Thunderers

Good Luck all on the weekend

Blackwood V Bridgewater - Blackwood by 10 goals, still too much class in the midfield
Mt Lofty V Birdwood - Devils by 10 goals, they are starting to tune up - Flash & Luitjes to come back through the B Grade this week
Mt Barker V Lobethal - Roo's by 20 goals - Marston to kick 8+
Uraidla V Onkas - Uraidla starting to look a lot better will get up by 7 goals
Hahndorf V Ironbank - Will be a good match, but I reckon the Magpies at home by 5 goals if they have a full side.

And you know 'your' Shanty when you struggle to spell 'sewage', and i assume you mean that the scent of sewerage becomes evident when crossing over FROM Heathfield into Bridgey.
And a question - what did you place the Cutting Cup next to in your trophy cabinet? That C Grade premiership from the early 90's?

And on ovals, Balhannah is by far no. 1 in good conditions in Div 1. Milang the best in Hills (haven't played there for near 10 years tho).[/quote]

I'll second that AF, Milang was a treat to play on every second week. Well worth the drive. :D

no mate you assumed wrong i meant sewage also know as waste water or excrement conveyed through the sewers. the stuff thats dribbling out of your mouth at the moment.
not sure as to the exact location of the cup but its probably safe behind the RAIDER bar... still fresh with the scent of victory bourbon.

Hahndorf is getting a little bit underrated as an oval. It is a touch small, but great for viewing (especially now that stobie polls are gone) and it's lights are the best in the Hills. Does not have a prominent slope, plus its surface is good. Also it's cricket pitch is covered in grass, not sand. Would be the standout oval overall in the Hills if it wasn't for it's size.

 No worries, Vaughan. That Woodstock 440ml is quite the celebratory drop. Did they serve that at your year 12 formal last year?
Best ovals - when I played, Lobey was a bit spongey but overall a good surface and the visitors rooms actually weren't too shabby at all. Didn't make up for the belting we copped, though. And if it weren't for the slope, Uraidla would be up there IMHO too.

Just a point of interest, the game between Hahndorf and Ironbank tomorrow is an evening game starting at 5.30, lights are good and should be a good game. Go Thunderers.

For those that may be interested, last year's mail medalist Mark Bradley (Ironbank) has been sacked by his 'new' Western Border League club Hamilton after only 4 games for "unspecified reasons".

I believe he was picked in the team a couple of weeks ago and just didn't rock up game day, probably a good reason to terminate.

I here $1600 a game plus alot of extras (jobs for him and wife plus, plus, plus etc.) then hardly got a kick and did not participate in anything or got involved in the club. This wouldnt sit well in the country, and well clearly it didn't (Sounds like he'd fit in well at bridgewater though)

Blackwood A-Grade got up convincingly over Bridgewater 21 goals to 8. Blackwood shared the goals around too; Gigney going down could prove to be a blessing in disguise now that a lot more players can put their hand up to work the forward lines. But we'll see how it eventuates when they come up against more competative opposition.
Blackwood B-Grade Win
Blackwood Senior Colts Win by about 8 goals
Blackwood Junior Colts Win in a close thriller
Blackwood 13's Win 13.16 to 0.0

Better luck next time Vaughn!
