I would also like to know what happened properly, because what I heard sounds like something that might warrant a life ban

The orchestrator of the annual BFC auction dinner pulled the pin on the event.

Possibly the fact that you can't jusge or put a value on the on the breach.

What difference does one player for example make. Five goals - Ten goals - 15 clearances - what if its a wet day???

Not saying its right, but I assume the logic is, the other team may not have won the game anyway if the breach didn't occur (if the team in the wrong won by 20 goals but an error saw them 1 point over their allowance, thats 1/3 of a new player from another league, how do you measure that?), so it is unfair on the remaining teams in the competition for them to get a potential 2 points they wouldn't have got otherwise.

Think of the Melbourne Storm when they were told to play for no points, a team had to beat them to gett he 2 points themselves, not an automatic.

I don't disagree. However, we put a value on a forfeit of 10 goals, when the actual margin could vary depending on the standard of the opposition.

He was disappointed about being overlooked..... I have it on reasonable authority that the selectors didn't think he was at training and after they selected and annouced the side they realised that he was at training, would have been nice to have rang and told the bloke if that was the case ..........I was told that his exclusion last year was because of a poor showing at the carnival a few years earlier when he was 20 years old... heard that from the Riverland Selector, which I thought was a bit harsh

Would be interested to know if Dank has spent time at Moorook as there’s some very big boys in that side! Looks like they took their cheque book down to the local gym to sign the biggest gorillas possible! They may want to keep check on the dosage as there seemed to be a fair bit of roid rage going on Saturday! Would hope that’s the case anyway as it would be disappointing to hear that it was a team tactic to send the gorillas out to tell the young lads they're standing that they are only there to knock them out - then proceed to take every opportunity to smash the living crap out of them behind play! Or "I’ve got a machete and don’t care if I go back to jail!”
Pathetic really, im all for good tuff footy and a bit of trash talk but what went on behind play on Saturday was beyond the joke. A young player shouldn’t have to run out on a footy field worrying about getting his head caved in by some meat head. Sad thing is a lot of those guys could actually play when they went for the ball and not the man!
One positive was the fact that this season has proven once again that the sides splashing around the big $$ don’t always win the flags! MK look to have a tough road to the finals from here, will be interesting to see if they have the cash to spend on another crack next year?

More than one unfortunately, if it was only one which happens often - you tend to think yep his a d***head and move on but this was happening all day all over the ground.
They did come out fired up - I think they realised that was their last realistic chance to make finals, but there’s a difference between being fired up and going hard and thuggery!

The sad thing is the bloke I think you may have been referring too showed a couple times he can really play when he wants too! Really dont know why they bother - if they want to fight - take up boxing! Or maybe theyre not they know that this would mean taking on an actual fighter instead of some skinny kid trying to play a game of footy!

Ahhh fair enough.

I was referring to Viv Rigney. Can certainly play, but I've seen some low acts from him too.
I don't understand players like that. Just use the talent you've been given and play footy.

We had a guy like that about 10 years ago who always wanted to fight. Against Moorook-Kingston usually funnily enough.
Was a waste of talent.

Yep that's one of worst - ended up with a yellow card should have been red and that was just the incident that was in play! At one stage he ran over just to punch Jed who was already on the ground then got up a stomped on his arm- just pathetic and gutless!
For some reason people think that roughing Jed up works because there's not much of him- have seen him wear some big hits and he just gets up and gets on with it!

Agree tho don't understand it- when your getting your old, fat and slow like me it's hard enough just getting a kick! These guys that waste talent don't understand what a gift they have! Trav Wilson another great example of that!

Hope his coaching fee wasn't paid in advance? To be honest though, it wasn't hard to realise early on that he was a peanut. I picked that before a ball was even bounced. Not sure of the thinking behind appointing him in the first place to be honest.
