Mt Barker by 4 goals. Thunderers definitely on the improve, had plenty of the footy and could have won the game. A couple out for Mt Barker, but no more so than IB.

10 Goals of 13 to Gigney??

I heard Mt lofty got up easy in the end 10 goals(?) over Lobethal who look like they're playing some teams back into form. Did also hear the Heathfield oval was in a bad state, not mowed, bare and rough as guts, has that been raised before, I thought all ovals were looking pretty good at this time of the year?

Barker v Bankers was a great game. IB have improved. Barker very slow through the midfield and was exposed. Noonan their most valuable player by a mile. Yoemans had the better of Fisher. IB turnovers cost them game. Hills footy alive and well.

It appears the Bridgewater "bubble" has burst, was only strong enough to last 1 week! 20 goals is a fair hiding!
What reasons/excuses will V the great man come up with?

Unfortunately Uraidla can't afford to lose him if they want to keep their playing group. They're certainly not a social bunch out there now either, first time I can remember no member of a visiting club made it into our club for a drink after the game last saturday. Local boys are good blokes, what there is of them.

What are you lads on, for a start if your gonna start mouthing off get your facts right. Its because of all the hours that somebody like Charlie puts into their club that we have so many viable clubs and such a strong leauge.

As for the local boys and 'what there is of them', i rekon you should look at the Cox's & Browns, Moulds, Filsell, Wotton, Kluvanek, Tudor, Liebelt, Pridham, Kepa, Sutton, Thomas. All having a dig in the A Grade! Oh and maybe guys like Chevalier, Loffler & Anderson who have come from outside the district stick around year after year, become as good as local, work on the canteen and do their bit around the club because they want to be part of something greater. 3 senior flags in one year doesnt come easy, nor do brilliant facilities. Prehaps you clowns should try and emulate whats going on down at Uraidla rather than go around knocking it.

Ah the inbreds at Uri !!!! So wat you won 3 flags in 1 year. Does not give your president the right to be the arrogant disrespectful pig of a man that he is. There are some good folk at Uri and maybe they should pis......... Mr P off. Most clubs don't want him visiting their clubs when they host you guys.

Go Devs.
On another topic, if Gigney DID kic 10 out of the 13, it'd be interesting to see Blackwood without him (I think they struggled last year when he was injured??) and Barker without Marsten who kicked stacks this year. Not taking anything away from anyone of the lads involved, but just wondering if both teams are a bit one-dimensional?
Uris A's and B's had a huge day out, what happened there? This is getting interesting...

It's a fair point...
i remember saying last year stop Gigney = stop Blackwood. I know when we beat them last year he only kicked 3 or something and you'd say that Blackwood had better players. He's a great player but you'd sacrifice a player to stop him, thus, in my opinion, stopping Blackwood.

on another note apologies to the raider boys for not delivering on promised beers.
my wife only gave me a 6 o'clock leave pass as it was her birthday.
also dissapointed I missed the player auction where I was looking to bid on march and talbot.

I meant Uraidla by 15 goals, pop a cork in that V!

Not much to be emotional about this week V-man except i was 10 goal out in my tips, thats more like the Bridewater performances we are used to.

Righto then, let's put it out there and see if the remaining teams stop Gigney and therefore stop Blackwood and I'd like to see how Mt Ronnie go if Marsten is shut down. When Barker beat Lofty in round one apparently it was the Marsten show and outside of that, a fairly even contest.
And is that older forward back for Lofty yet? Apparently he's about 38 and kicked the first 2 goals in round 1 and did a hammy.

Ummm...... 3 flags in one year
Pretty sure that the aim of playing football is to win?
So yeah i rekon it probably is a fairly big deal.

As for Charlie being a pig of a man? I would think that most people are sitting here reading your rubbish and having a fair laugh at your expense. You would struggle to find a bloke who is more supportive of his club and community; most people know that. You are just some faceless clown sitting in front of a computer, flexing your muscles on the internet, i hope you are proud of yourself. You're an inspiration.

From what i know Charlie is a decent man, however losing a game of football and turning on the umps and then 15-16 yr old boundry umpires is a shameful thing. I feel Charlie should have made a public statement because i know a lot of people have lost respect for him over this incident

Where is Roache this year?[/quote]

Done a knee injury, not certain how severe but is set to miss at least a few more weeks.
And yes, for all those doubting people out there Gigney DID kick 10 goals.
Here are the official results published on the clubs website:

A Grade- Blackwood 13.13 (91) def Hahndorf 9.8 (62)
Best- D. Gigney, T. Edwards, P. Magarey, J. Sidebottom, A. Whitaker
Goals- D. Gigney 10, T. Kleinig, T. Stevenson, A. Ridley

Has to be said though that a lot of undisciplined acts from Hahndorf resulted in quite a few 50 metre penalties helping Gigs to that total.
Also the Umpiring was well below average, Hahndorf has every right to be spitting chips at the umpires panel this week.

If teams decide to 'double-up' on Gigs a lot of Blackwood's followers and small forwards will take advantage. Before this game he was only averaging 3 or 4 goals a game. Despite him being a very valuable player, I wouldn't say he's the only player capable of kicking goals and winning games.

correct kick it to me. i dont think he was the first or will be the last to lose his cool with the umpires. and it wasnt at a young boundry umpire it was aimed at trevor morrison who would by his own admission say he umpired poorly. has been your a joke

People all over the country abuse umpires every week. Its not the right thing to do, no matter how bad the umpire is, i do not condone it, but in reality it happens. Whilst i cannot repeat every word that was said verbatim, i can say that this has been blown well out of proportion. There were a few of us at Uraidla that got stuck into the ump and told him in no uncertain terms that he had yet again buggered up a good game of footy. Charlie was pretty vocal, he admits he got stuck into the ump, the tribunal dealt with him accordingly. As for turning on the kid boundry umpire, i didn't hear anything about this and would assume that if it did happen the tribunal would have taken some really really serious action. It is my understanding that the HFL can ban people from entering grounds for such offences and nothing like this has happened.

The story which should attract as much attention is Owen Lamshed's behaviour. The man was way out of line with his What's Not .... Straweberries. What a plain stupid thing to write for a man who sits on some mighty pedastal preaching how we should all behave. He wants everyone to be harmonious for the good of the leauge and then has a dig at people during his weekly ego trip which is the budget. A true example!
