151 you seem to be in know at Willaston, what happened to all those young lads that won those flags in the U17 over the past few years?

We have had a few come though and do really well
But for a club that has won so many U17 premiership over the last few years it astounds me
Yes a few have gone down to Central
My questions is, what have the commitee done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will tell you, NOTHING, it shows that the people they have in place there don't know, they need to think about the club rather than their ego's and living on their past history, previous football commitees have a lot to answer for as well
Sad state of affairs

Interesting stuff 151, don't know much about the management down there. The Bombers are safe now with 2 games clear and a massive %. Bomber Prouse has done a good job up there and I would imagine if he gets his way next year he will try and bring in 2 top shelf players to compliment that side. He just has to try and convince the Bomber committee to spend some money.

Booze, he's a top shelf coach, he did what he set out to do at barossa by taking them from a basket case to baxk to back flags, then chose to return to his original club kilburn to try and revive them, left on good terms at the kennel
opinions are like armpits, everyone has them & everyone else's stink!

O'Connor fitted in well at Barossa and as JD said left on good terms. The same can't be said about when he left Willaston but I'm sure 151 can enlighten you on that. I have got nothing against him I think he took this league to new level and really raised the bar.

I have heard that Willaston went down to Centrals and spoke to Chris Grant and asked for help. I don't know if it is for a future coach or if they know of any players that Centrals will not be re-signing next year and Willaston will call.

"Quote"Baker boys quit which has been stated earlier and for the reasons stated earlier
The president forgot to say they did suspend Shaun for a week and did take the captaincy of him, that was Sunday
Monday morning they rang him and told him they had changed their minds
It took the President of the League to go and talk to Shaun and ask him to finish the year.
Not sure but would you say that is a conflict of interests by Mr Symes "Quote"

I would like to know if Mr Symes would go to other clubs if they are having problems with some of their players. If you do it for one you would have to do it for the rest.

Not necessarily holden06, mr symes has always been attached with willaston and will always have an interest with that club his son played there also. It wasn't just about football he knows shaun baker and has for many years so he just rang him to give him advice i would imagine. If the league didn't want a bias president, dont pick a bloke who played at one of the clubs for 10 years!! His portrait is up in the clubrooms for christ sake..

You are right the league dosen't want a bias president. But they have one. They do because of what you said. 10 years at willaston. I am all for the work that he does. he put a lot of hours in.

I don't know what everyone else thinks but Nobby comes across as a really nice guy who has the league at heart. Very hard to find a league president without some bias but I reackon Nobby is pretty good. Who would want the job anyway with every club thinking that they are more important than other 8 and always whinging, you may as well go into Federal politics than take on Nobby's role.

I just think that with Freeling playing Barossa in the last game and the coach being his last year at freeling they would want to finish off with at least 1 win out of the last 2 games.

rather unusual to see the four sides in the finals all playing each other and the other four sides all really playing for pride only, and for some maybe a last hurrah!!

Will any of the top four sides be trying anything new and different, they will all have to face off again in a few weeks, do coaches try something left field or wait and watch and see if there is something they have missed in the first round that might come into play. No positions can change on the ladder. You can really see Saturday being a day of ducks and drakes more than anything. The only club that has anything to lose is the blockies and that is only their undefeated status. Some would argue they need to lose one to go further in September, personnally don't agree with that theory, but there are those out there that follow it. Biggest question of the round may actually be "How wet will Williamstown Oval be??" perhaps it might be best to switch back to Lyndoch post haste!!
