much like the collingwood essendon anzac day jumper.

i admit i personally don't like it - going with why not wear the old elliot bloods jumper this once?

You have got to be joking Yetti, after the performances you Eagle boys have put in this year you should be happy to get within 10goals

Have you seen the games Phillip you sound very similar to someone who has moved clubs and leagues, whilst we have not won a game, and admit that the performance against Compass was very average, the boys battled hard against Strath and only really one quarter cost them,Yank are gonna be rite up there i reckon very good side and the boys competed hard all day just got beaten by a better side, but you would know that as you were there !! and last week we lost our way when we had a good lead but full credit to Goolwa for fighting back. Its not all doom and gloom Phillip,we will get better and we know where we are heading.

The club is acknowledging the heritage of two clubs - Port Elliot FC and Goolwa FC hence both guernsey designs are represented on the heritage guernsey.

The current black & white prison bars is the Goolwa/Port Elliot FC guernsey, simliar to GFC yes, but the GPEFC on it distinguishes it from the old Goolwa FC playing jumper.

Here here Titanic, i didnt see the Strath or Goolwa games but i was at the Yank game and yeah the mcLaren young fellas battled hard against a potential top 4 side in Yank. Yes the Compass game was not good but like you said they must have responded last week against Goolwa. And Philip like Titanic said watch a game first before you judge

Just wondering what the chances are of Bob Willis coming out of retirement?? Been a huge servant for the Tigers & i know its only early, but this would be a great way for the big fella to go out if the Tigers played a part in september. Would still be a very handy HB/HF flanker.

great to see yank a handy side, but how long can a club pay this sort of money! Talking to a yank commitee member they have a great social atmosphere and good functions along with some good sponsorship but nearly $100,000 a year is a lot to pay out on players each year. Hopefully for yank they get a premiership (although some people will say they bought it) its more a credit to the blokes who have stuck around yank each year getting belting after belting that have made this club what they are this year.

Funny you should bring this up Bay10, your actually way off. I just happened to run into Yanks Treasurer today and got talking about how well the team is going and about the new guys at the club, he happened to say that player payment were in the vicinity of $500,000 for the year, crazy the money getting around in country footy now. Lets hope it pays off

A bit late but has to be said, a big thankyou and well done to Ryan Bridges and his team who played their young 2nd 21 against our Myponga/Sellicks junior colts and instead of a thrashing we had a good game. Also well done on a fantastic day.

surely not $500,000 is this a joke? I did hear a rumour though that their player auction went very well with one certain sponsor paying $20,000 for 1 player!

Na that didnt happen. I think you'll find that you guys just played good footy. A one stage we had the ful forward, captain and vice captain off not to even things up but because they gave 50m penalties away

Footy ninja, u sure it wasnt closer to $750,000??? Maybe it was $1mill????? Im sure if we were spending that sorta money, we`d be flogging teams by a lot more and we would be like Strath and Willunga and have points players playing in the B Grade... Doesnt make much sense why we would do that to me.....

Bay10, i find it funny that u are critiscising us for doing something about our lack of recent success and recruiting, when ur team has been doing it for a long time.... Modra,Rolfe,Mclean, Heuskes.... ring a bell mate???? And re ur post about a player getting 20k at the auction recently, i assure u im worth every cent...Pfft... Seriously, ur a joke, get ur facts straight or at least CLOSE before u post B.S. on here.

Sure its a forum after all, but are just making urself look stupid by just posting things that are clearly false...

Overall its laughable that SOME posters are Yank Bashing on here when all we have done is recruited to suit our needs and are SO FAR reaping some rewards for it... We have never been big recruiters unlike most other clubs, and the one year we get off our butts and have a crack at getting some respectability back on the footy field, everyone jumps on us.. Tall poppy syndrome at its best.. I woulda thought everyone would be glad we have a more even GSFL competition, sure makes for more exciting games every week..Each to their own, and we cant wait to test ourselves against the leagues best in Willunga this week. Good luck to all teams..

Tiger, at some point you are going to have to just ignore these comments mate. People are always going to assume player payments and a lot of B.S. is spoken. It's great for the competition to have another team competing for finals rather than accepting a flogging every week. Great work in the off season recruiting and hopefully your club can continue to have some success and play finals footy again. Good luck tomorrow against Willunga, it will give the team a true indication as to where they are currently at.

As a supporter of McLaren I expect them to win each week. That is what supporters do HP. The majority of our players have played juniors at the club and those players go out every Saturday expecting to win....If you are a former player I am sure you went out to win each game....If you are a current player I am sure you run out expecting to win.
