Strath 20-6 defeated Creek 10-6, strath kicked the last 9 goals in a fast and tough game of footy. Congrats to B.Cousins winner of the Smith/Follett medal.

lets get a couple of things straight firstly Ferguson had nothin to do with that issue and the second thing is yeomans was cleared to Goolwa prior to going to South and he then told Goolwa he would like to have a crack at league footy which did not work out for him,and South were happy to keep him from playing footy rather than let him go back to the club he was registered at when he came from Port Augusta.South need to have a look at themselves and treat Goolwa the same way they treat all the other clubs in their region as from what i remember South did ok from a young player that played at Goolwa prior to being drafted. You are obviously one of those people that think they know everything about the deals that go on and the contracts that are signed and really you no jack. The difference this time is he is not registered at Ironbank player. When you sit and have a good think about it he should not sign anything as he clearly does not understand what signing a legal document means.

Touched a nerve?

he may have been registered at Goolwa, but he was "contracted to South". Anyway, South ended up lettign him go, so why don't your hypocritical club to the same. PS - Ferguson was also contracted to south for 2010, but they also let him go.

Don't take it so personally, just move on - Goolwa, like South, have shown they are better off without bloke that don't won't to be there. These blokes clearly have no loyalty - no doubt they'll burn the next club they go to as well.

Great night at Strath last night. Other than Grand Final held there, never seen so many people at country footy. Cars were parked outside the ground!!!

Great night if you were from Strath as far as the footy was concerned. The Creek was right up there til 3/4 time.

The service before the game was very respectful from all players and supporters. Well done both clubs it was worth the 4 hour drive

Sure am, sure did, and what a great day we had. All the best to Goolwa, we pizzed off some ordinary characters like Parry and Boyd and it's been all up since then. Don't spend any energy on >edited< Yeomans and Ferguson - put your efforts into those that want to be there.

Good call Bunton... wasting energy on blokes that don't want to be at your club is only going to set you back further. Time to move forward.

Strath v Yank this week. I think Strath will win well, could be too pacy for Yank. Can anyone see Yank upsetting Strath?

Having watched both sides defeat McLaren FC by similar margins it will be a very close game. Yank were pretty quick but maybe not as clean with their ball handling as Strath. Yank will be a bit better in the air and have 2 gun forwards and Doyle will just slip in for a couple of goals.
Yank are a very good side with a good balance, and if Strath go in under prepared Yank could certainly beat them. Yank are very much ball orientated, disciplined and fit.
From what I hear, there maybe an issue with Yank re their points, in the game against McLaren, which might distract them

After watching Strath dismantle the Creek Sunday night I would say they would be favourites to get up this weekend. Very quick and clean with their disposal, they pressure their opposition into turning over the footy, then make them pay on the rebound. Very well drilled.

Just an interesting observation Yankalilla played Fittock 2 points McFarlane 3 points Scandlers 3 Points
Kovacic 3 points K.Lohde 3points P Zwar 3 points and Dundovic 2 points allowance 15 point just does not add up how many juniors do you have tpo play to get the points down. No Wilson or howes or dedicoat at this stage

Played one junior TO. Might be in a bit of trouble if your stats are correct. Percentage might take a bit of a dive and lose the 2 pts for a win. Plus all the points scored. Will be an interesting couple of days for The GSFL and the Yank Hierarchy.

Have to be honest most of the talk I heard from Pongy during pre-season was mainly welcoming Clay and some good recruits, I don't recall them ever stating they were gonna be top 2 or even 5? 0 and 3 yeah not the best but can assure with what we saw and the way the club all seems to be heading in the right direction things can't be that bad.

They have had a tough draw OF. Certainly improved on last year, and from what I have seen so have most other clubs. Maybe lost Ritter with a knee on Sat too.
Heard yesterday that one of your recruits suffers from a bit of White Line fever!!!!!!!

Started with a tough draw and plenty of young players. Unfortunately for Pongy, they ran into a pumped up Maggies side on Saturday as well. The top 5 is beyond them but they will be quite competitive.

My predictions after 3 rounds is;

Strathalbyn
Willunga
Victor Harbor
Yankalilla
Creeks

Mount Compass
Goolwa/Port Elliot
McLaren
Myponga/Sellicks
Encounter Bay

Will be one hell of a finals series!!

had a tough first 2 games but was very suprised to see them go down to goolwa on the wkend. think everyone on this forum tipped them to beat the magpies. After players returning from jervois and picking up 4 ex emus would have pencilled them in on the wkend. i'm sure mypo were dissappointed with the result. whats the story with ritter?

Don't the teams have to submit there teams to the league before hand via the internet and are told how many points there team will be worth on the day off the game

Might no win many games, but main thing is they always go into the oppositon rooms for a drink - looks like Sambo has taken that ruthless, win at all costs culture he instilled at South to the Mudlarks.
