5. Matt Cragg-Sapsford- Nuriootpa (clearly the best tap ruckman in the BL&G if not country footy, Cragg-Sapsford gives the Tigers rovers an armchair ride.)

He is by far and away the best tap ruckman in the comp... He would have to be the most important player for Nuri and with a few in's this year i think will see them playing finals footy!!!

Butchers the football, wont go get it himself. Over rated.

Butchers the football?
Maybe he butchers it five or six times out of the 35-40 touches he gets a game.
Baker is a Jet...

Didnt have too many 35-40 touches games in 2008. Didnt he get stripped of captaincy ?

Got stripped of captaincy did he?
Well thats probably a good thing, because he won the medal in 2007 without the Captaincy.

Didnt get to the game Pag, just went to the Greenacres v South Gawler game as it is just over the road from where i live.

South Gawler had a win by a goal. Wasnt that impressed with the Lions to be honest. Someone earlier had posted that Div 5 was equivilant to BL&G B grade bottom 2 sides. Winning a trial by one goal against B grade oposition wouldnt be giving the players and supporters much hope for 2009.

Looking forward to getting out and watching the Tigers round one and putting Craig Dawes game plan under the microscope. I believe his blueprint is very similar to that of Milky Vivian with a sprinkle of Neil Craig.

No problems with you being a S Baker fan Pinch Hitter. Each to there own.

All i know is when Gawler Centrals have played Willaston they havent worried too much about maning Baker up due to the fact he provides many opportunities with turn overs.

Hope the Sunday mail can bring you some happiness during the 2009 season, just dont think you will find it in BL&G football section. Try the Adult relaxation section Pinch Hinter.

I am told south were quite pleased with the hitout... considering they only had 3 players over 23 playing and a 16 year old kicking 7 goals from full forward!

Was at Freeling on Sat. Good hitout for both teams, pretty warm. Not sure about Two Wells, they had some good quick little blokes, but Freeling probably had 8 or so to come into their best side. played 6 quarters, only 3 of them were A grade.
Bit of an arm wrestle for the first half of the first, then Freeling kicked away. All Freeling into the 2nd term, probably 6 or 7 goals ahead. Two Wells had their best term in the last, probably kicked the last 4. Think it was a bit of a combination of Two Wells playing well and Freeling thinking they had done enough for the day. Freeling's recruits all showed some promising signs without dominating. Everyone would be better for the run and more importantly no injuries

Whoever said Div 5 is equivalent to the BL&G's bottom two B Grade sides is delusional. And for what it's worth, Greenacres are Div 4 anyway.

Gawler Central got over us by three goals when they kicked the last three of the game. From what I could tell A King, Howard and Taylor were missing, Wozniak and Hahn only played 3 quarters each. Never seen him play before, but Hahn is probably the best set shot I've come up against on the field. The guy kicked 7.1, the point just missing from 45 out on the boundary. The guy just didn't miss. They'll be very good this year though, was only their first trial and when they get their full squad together, they'll be up the pointy end again.

Was good to see Wacka and a few GC boys back in the club for a while after too before being kicked out due to cricket preso night.

Thanks for that rundown Pag.

I am confident we can play a part in the finals this year. Wont have too much competition from any of the other Gawler Clubs either.

You make a valid point about the boys hanging around for a beer after the game, should be more of it. I know when i played i always made the effort to have at least one beer before heading back to the Clubrooms no matter what was the result. Remember staying on at Angaston one night too long and had to sleep in the car before making the drive back. I still hold Peter Cameron responsible for that episode.

can anyone from angaston confirm that bascombe is heading back home to streaky after vintage is finished? heard it from a few different people over the weekend. maybe duke, toronto or osama knows something about this.
if he is this will be a huge loss for the panthers as he is looking very fit and would most likely get through the whole season.
would be a masiive pick up for streaky i would imagine.

Barossa got beaten pretty easily from all reports... only kicked 5 goals I think.. Normal for a trial game were missing up to 6 but not sure who.

From the RMFL thread

FootyWiz81 wrote:Imperials beat Barrosa very easiely in both grades yesterday,

B Grade got up by atleast 5-10 goals, very young good looking B grade imps have,

and then A grade wow havent seen Imperials so dominant in a game of footy since the days of Sheill an Seyers and Shiell an Chiko

Matt Seyers kicks 9.6 an then handed about 5 of in first quarter.
Jamie Honner dominant up CHF then the strong running back line involved all players that played there, M.Hines, Puckeridge, Trenordan, Puiatti, EDWARDS, Waite, Gogel

Imperials are my tip to be very dominant this yr alot of depth and youth.

Not to sure daysof I would hope not as he dominated in the trial game Saturday. I think he kicked 6 goals in the first half before the team was changed around. He was in as good a form before he broke his leg 2 or so years ago.
