AG i see in the paper you were a dominant spearhead for the eagles ressies on the weekend. Have the eagles finally found a replacement since the heady days of GENTLE playing up forward :) Whats your odds on you kicking more goals than the GM WCP this season.

steakn wrote:Going by what i have seen this year and what i experienced last year with Primey i would probably play Paul Theodosiou or Ricky Myers on him. I played on Primey for ten minutes last year and got towelled up insanely, not sure on his fitness this year but when i stood him, he wasn't just strong and a good grab, he was frigging quick off the mark and mobile too which was where i thought i would have half a chance.

ahh after reading this post you have just lost what little credibility you had! if primey is "frigging quick off the mark and mobile too" then i'm the coach of the u19s fairyland dreamteam! i stand my my word and still believe in a 100 metre dash primey and rossco would be a photo finish with steakn obviously lagging behind in 3rd place!

steakn wrote:Even if Abel was in the squad i reckon Primey would be a bit too quick off the mark.

steakn if you can't keep up with him probably no one can.....primey to miss 4 matches later in season due to olympics!!!!

just to wrap it up, didn't want to leave without adding some 19s info...
the way the lads played on the weekend they would beat the combined ep side in a close match with their superior fitness just getting them over the line!

can somebody put up the lincoln and great flinders ladders as they are not on the plfl website or country footy website?

Leo when you get let out of the looney bin and you venture back this way we can set up a 50m sprint between you and Primey and then we'll see who has the last laugh.

WCP is a Mick Hegarty medalist but the glory days seem over for the once great forward.... He has one last chance in round 5 against LS where he will clash with Phil Cummings again (kicked 10 on him in 2004).... he is however still doing the team things as his forward pressure and he has excelled at bringing the ball to ground this year  .... I think that the worry of coaching the bees has affected his personal performance... but that is wcp putting his club first before himself....
He is still worth the entry fee just to see him play for free kicks and hear the sprays he gives the umps.....
I urge anyone who hasnt had a beer with this guy to do so and have a talk about football as it is a great experience.

Great to see Old Blue pumping up saturdays GF Vs PL game in todays Times.
Just a bit of a pity he can't get his facts right in the 'Wheels of History'
Old Blue reckons he played in the last game between the two teams 47 years ago in 1961.
I know of at least (3) times they have played against each other since then... 1976, 1989 & 1990

47 years since port lincoln played great flinders is 100% untrue according to Fitzy

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

I can confirm on Saturday May 13 1989.... great Flinders defeated PL by 82 points (and the headlines said they hadn't clashed for 10 years previously)..... players mentioned in the write-up were.... Fabian Davey, Tony Lewis, Tharin Kickett, Les Mundy, Steve Milton, Dick Clements, Joe Burgoyne, Boyd Hogben, Ashley Brook......

Now in 1990.... Sat May 22 Port Lincoln 31.11.197 def defeated GF 4.8.32, Jackamarra 11, Prime 8, Proctor 4, Lands 3, Ringo 2.
in the U/21 game that day PL 20.17 def GF 5.5...best S Whillas, D Rule, M Dunn, J Warrior, scooby.
