i see mt barker got up. maybe the result not that surprising but the argin in which it happened. an easy victory in the end. did hear that the mt brker coach was less then gractious in victory and uraidla will put that in the memory bank. saw some of th blackwood mt lofty game and it was a tough match in which both teams showed they should be around the mark. and well done to the maggies getting on the board for the season. should be a great season for us as well.

Mt Barker just too good for Uraidla on Saturday. Few injuries for Uraidla, notably Loffler, coming into the game but Mt Barker looked the much stronger team of two and played with real intensity. On a side note good to see big Ray 'Razor' Ebel back in to the swing of things, kicking something like 8 goals and passing off another 4 in the C Grade. No doubt he'll be a B Grade shoe-in next week and from there who knows!

Hey 'Spot On' do you know how many weeks Craig Smith will be out for?
And to the Lofty supporters can you confirm one of your players went down with an ACL and if so who was it?

At this stage looks like a minimum of 12 weeks, may require surgery

Saw him a couple of weeks ago, he's been in a good paddock and will need to do plenty of work to catch up! Will you have a jumper to fit him?

There was a lot of talk pre season about who was leaving the velodrome , who ended up going ?
obviously a few stayed as the score against Blackwood didn't look that bad considering they are a top 2 club.

I was never actually totally sure why there was so much hype about us losing so many players. We lost a few, but no more than most teams would lose through things like work and what not, and those few that left because of problems they may have had with the coach, well there's egg on their face now...

Informer - how did the game go on Saturday? Obviously pretty big win (Birdwood's biggest for a while I'd imagine?) but how did you rate Ironbank, did they have any opinions about Birdwood's playbook this time around?

Heard there may be an investigation into an incident on Saturday in which a prominent Mt Barker recruit was allegedly struck behind the play.... can anyone confirm this?

I reckon a few weeks ago, someone on this thread made a comment in reference to comparing the HFL with SAAFL and stated that this type of thing(behind the play incidents) doesn't happen in the HFL.
Don't tell me he was wrong!!!

Yeah was a good game on Saturday I felt... Ironbank got off to a pretty quick start kicking 4 of the first 5 goals but at quarter time we were 2 goals up. Ironbank were fine but i'm sure they'd love to have the cheif back in... I've never seen a team that were more reliant upon one player.

On a side note i felt the umpiring was terrible.. not a particularly way but felt it was extremely inconsistent all day... And they were also wearing all white which wasn't a great colour because from behind you could get them mixed up with Ironbank...

Way to early to call anything like that mate. I don't think we'll know until the second half of the season and then some. I think you'll find Lofty have come up against two very good sides so you can't throw them into that basket just yet.

And on a side note... Torrens Valley have to finish top 2 to get the approval to come to Central Div. I know they'll be tipped to play in a Grand Final but nothing's guaranteed.

having spoken to a few players and supporters not just from handorf but from a few other clubs as well, there is a massive support for bridgwater to be dropped. people sick of going to an oval where u can only pack around a quater of the oval. balls being water logged after 5 mins of play due to that creek and not to mention the footy teams just being a joke. 6 or 7 years ago that club was whinning about too many recruits being in the league and now they lead the charge year after year and get no where. for me its by by bridgy. come back when we can play on an oval bigger then a 20 cent piece.
