I don't remember Onkas 'coasting' just after half time when they came out and banged on another half dozen goals to start the 3rd qtr. Only slowed when IB boys finally pulled our fingers out.

Onkas definitely a better side than last year and I would say they have the best 3 forwards in any one team in the comp which will stretch many defences.

I like you style of thinking when you say things like "lynchy will learn a thing or two from the clash" I mean why wouldnt he be learning alot from a bloke who has coached 1 game of football in his life (J. Aufderheide). Im pretty sure if you cant beat a side who hasnt won a game in two years you will definitely be top 2.
On another note where do you think the GF will be this year if you and Loby are going to be in it???
Say hi to 'HTFU' and 'comeon' for me

hello Fruit.
dont be ignorant.
lynchy would not be learning how to coach from Aufderheide, he is already a well established and successfull coach himself. lets not forget he took your team (a very weak onkas) to the finals last year. i was referring to the amount he would have learned from his new players. he tried a few men in different positions, made some mistakes, and saw how a few opperate under the pump. so in that sense he would have learned a lot from the clash.
i never said we would be top 2 i said finals 'contenders'.
the grand final will be held on lobethal.
stick to umpiring mate. it suits you.

I noticed that Brock Gifford, coach of Tailem Bend, has now been cleared to Tailem as a player.

What sort of player was he in the Hills League? Would he be likely to be up to A grade in country football or more than likely in the Reserves? I presume he's in his mid 30's?

do you guys all know how the relegation system works?Am I right in saying that a team that finishes 5th in the A Grade could be relegated due to the performance of their lower grades?I would like to see that attempted!!!!

it works on a points system for each grade! so a win in a grade is obviously the most working its way down to under 13! so i gues if a club lost the majority of games in other grades and only finished 5th in agrade they could b relegated yes!

couple of handy inclusions this week for bridgewaters first home game at THE FORTRESS.
hopefully we have the men down back to do a job on Amatuer Footys 'big 3' from onka
but can anyone confirm that a former club captain did a riewoldt-like hamstring last night and will not be lining up saturday?
having the former coach of the oppostion will also prove a very handy thing. the team is aware of a few players who might just duck the head a little and go missing when times get tough.

Hey Rooster,

There was a lot of talk pre season about who was leaving the velodrome , who ended up going ?
obviously a few stayed as the score against Blackwood didn't look that bad considering they are a top 2 club.

Can anyone tell me how Conrad Morris went for Birdwood last week. Gun player when on song. Kicked 100 goals for us in a premiership year (2006)

How did new recruit Smith perform? I expected to see him in the goals, did he end up playing down back? Where would the majority of you guys see Ironbank finishing this year?

Played full forward till late in the first quarter, then came out to CHF. Didn't know a lot of the players early but settled in and had a good second half, was nemed fifth best.

Bruising encounter for Mt Lofty too. Ambulance got called twice and word is one of the two players who went down has done an ACL, the other had at least a badly sprained ankle. Unsure if it's related, but word is Cobb from Blackwood has to face the Tribunal this week too. Good win to Blackwood but don't let the scoreline fool you, Mt Lofty produced some good efforts around the ground and displayed some good skills.

Yeah correct, the game was a lot more exciting than the score indicates. Big injuries for a Mt Lofty side already lacking talls with Gordon & Luitjes both stretchered off. Blackwood looked classy with Gigney & Roche again spearheading them up forward. Interesting to see a bunch of umpires there watching with BYO booze & getting vocal throughout the match.
